They "repaired my roof" and it began to leak immediately (Within 2 weeks, the first rain storm post repair). Later when I told them they tell me what they repaired is not the cause of the problem and wanted $6500 more to actually fix the problem. They claimed the roof was sinking and they knew that was the "real cause". If you knew that what you were repairing was not the the cause of the problem why would you "fix" something that was not the cause and charge for it? I ended up getting a real roofer who came and and reviewed their work and told me they just did a really bad job. The real roofer even charged 1/4 of their asking price of $6500. The alternative roofer was amazed by how bad the job was. Sealant was applied so messy that water gets in easily on the corner. They flashing had holes in it!!! He also confirmed that the roof WAS NOT SINKING as they claimed and they were just trying to get more cash. The real roofer redid the spot they originally claimed they did and now its not leaking anymore. These guys are scam artist and wouldn't even come in to inspect the problem after reporting it unless I was willing to pay $6500. All their positive reviews seem to be from family and friends. Do not use them for any repairs or work. I wish I read all the negative reviews. Lesson learned, never use these guys again. read more

Alam General came highly recommended by a cousin of mine who got his roof done and a new concrete driveway. I myself got my roof repaired at a reasonable price and also got my left wall where the existing stucco was coming off redone. All in all, it was pretty good experience to watch them perform their work. I'm considering doing the remaining walls next summer depending on how this winter treats us New Yorkers. read more

Where do i start..... They are extremely rude, unprofessional, unprepared, and down right tacky company. They where sub- contracted through a 3rd party to work in my home, and the individual who hired them floats the same ignorance as the hire, so i am not surprised i experience the type of diss-service i receieved. The owner or appraisal guy has extremely poor phone etiguette, and it followed when he entered my home, to do a quote. From inappropriate questions, to calling me at the last minute to work out time frames, to unprofessional vm's at weird hours i experienced it. As if that wasn't enough; when a time frame was agreed upon, they either didn't show, and/ or when they did finally arrive, it was never on time. Im talking 1 and half hour or better late. Then completely random ppl showed up to my door in random clothing expecting to enter. Now, i specifically asked to know who, and when individual(s) would be showing up to my home and of course they could never provide me w/ this basic info. So when asked to see id's and a business card, they had neither available and tried to blow me off. Mind you, i experienced all this bad blood before any services where rendered! That was just a slight - jus of the type of customer service i recieved. Work wise, OMG! They do not show up ready to work or in a uniform, for starts. They had serveral days and opportunities to complete a large amount of work in my home and they absolutely squandered every single day access. With each new day, a complete different set of individual (s), would show up unannounced; and of course w/ a new set of issues and unprofessionalism. When i inquired about them placing drop cloths to secure my belongings, i was told by 1 worker they had them available and they where in the truck and another guy would be bringing them up; let's just say they never made it, and i guess they still sitting in the truck. Needless to say, i have redecorated funiture, appliances; and floors to adhere to their wonderful job done. They do absolutely nothing to preserve your home or the respect of it, in respects to simply entering and existing the door and your home. They where suppose to paint and plaster my whole apartment, lol. They threw plaster in a few spot, but didn't even bother to smooth it out or even apply plaster in areas that needed to be plastered. W/ them leaving exposed tape they used in a particular area of my large bedroom. Between the carelessness in the work and worker's; they only did my kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom. Which, was more then i wanted to subject my home to, but i had too. They more like did more damage, then help, because the work was so sloppy; the paint job blotchy, and seriously horrible. I cannot begin to emphasize the lack of professionalism, i received from Alam General Contracting. So now if that wasn't enough to go on, there's more! If your expecting them to tidy up after themselves, DON'T! They don't clean the messes they make, and if they do (b/c again they had several indivduals at my home from this company) they use your household cleaning supplies, bleach, broom, mop; etc. To clean- more like smear the crappy paint job in on whatever's insight. Oh, and they do it without your permission or acknowledgment. Great! Right?! Done?! Right???? Nope!!! As they finally removed all of their belongings from my home; finally after using my house as a storage spot to house their equipment and things; they manage to also remove a personal bucket of plaster that i had personally brought, way before they where even a sought out aggravation to me and my home. I, myself lugged up 4 flights of stairs to my home and stored, and if any of you have ever purchused or lift the large bucket of compound you would know that, it is by no means light. Pissed, and aggrevated is an absolute understatement. And i personally find the comments of praise to be offensive, untrustworthy, false; a huge slap in the face and an inflation of misrepresentation on their capabilities of service, and craftsmenship, and ethics; after experiencing the magnitude of disrespect to myself and home. Again, i did not hire them, but as a person looking for a contractor, and choosing a 3rd party candidate they would have never made it to my list of: inquiring services.
