What a horrible establishment and I haven't even had the pleasure of going to one of their dentist. You see, I called Alameda Dental to ask if they were taking new patients and I was eagerly greeted by the receptionist who said YES! Both our dentist are taking new patients...Then I mentioned that my insurance was ODS via Oregon Health Plan aka Obama Care and the excitement quickly fell to an abrupt NO. Even though this provider is listed as one who accepts OHP, they have decided that rather than help those less fortunate in the community, it would be better to focus on those in the area who have $$$$$. It was like I was being spit in the face. The gal on the phone actually said due to our "location", "we just cant take the hit". etc...WOW! Well guess what? I live in the neighborhood. I am only working part time and my employer doesn't offer freaking benefits so, now that I have this great Universal Health Care I can struggle to find a dentist who wont regard me as the neighborhood blemish. Thank you Alameda Dental! While your at it, remove yourself as a provider for OHP because none of us need to be kicked while were down. Keep up the good work. read more

I needed a new dentist and decided to try something closer to home, and a friend recommended Alameda Dental. Just went for my first visit today and thought it was terrific. Barb, the hygienist, and Dr. Webber both took a lot of time with me and did a more thorough check up than I've had in years. They pointed out some things my previous dentist hadn't ever addressed--in a respectful and not scary way, not in a we-want-to-find-things-to-fix way. My only beef is that I often get the answering machine when I call the office, but once you've set an appointment, all confirmations can be done via txt and the communication has been great ever since. read more

If you have to go to the dentist.... Dr. Ron Selis is the guy you want to see. Our entire family goes to Alameda Dental. We've bee going there for 4 years. Dr. Ron lives in our neighborhood. His kids to to the local schools. He is totally vested in our community. Best part... he's a smart, professional, excellent dentist. And his staff is super friendly. Prices are also very reasonable -- we used to go to a downtown dentist in a fancy tall building... we were paying too much. Ron is the best. Best dentist I have been to ever! I was experiencing some tooth pain so I Yelped a dentist near me. I found Alameda dental and was a little hesitant because it only had 3 reviews, but I called anyway. I saw a dentist the next day. I was treated by Dr. Webber and was very pleased with her work! Clearly she enjoys her work, and is good at it, but she also does well with people. It was clear that she wanted to make the experience as pleasant as going to the dentist with tooth pain can be. I had been going here for over 5 years ( until recently) . I actually started going to them at their old Location . Before they moved into this fancy new office. And I have to admit the last couple years , since they have turned into the hip new upper class dental office of the Alameda neighborhood the service got worse. I went from seeing the actual dentist on staff (Selis) for about a 30mins- 1 hours of my appointment to literally 90seconds to 3 minutes. And I'm paying the same amount for him to come in and check my mouth!! Checking around, prices are not reasonable.. So I finally tried a new dentist and as they take photos of each of my teeth with a tiny camera ( not an x Ray) . They show me decay on teeth , Alameda Dental put fillings in but didn't think to put sealant in other areas of that tooth. So the cavity spread and I have decay in all Those teeth! Yes, I saw with my own eyes the yellow/ brown decay around my previously filled teeth. My new dentist simply said " I don't know why anyone in their right mind would not seal the rest of these teeth after filling it. So you can imagine my anger and now happiness that I chose to switch dentist! Lastly, there is a lack of communication and information given to patients while they are in your mouth for an hour to three. I learned more about my teeth and the care I need to provide to them in my 2 hour appointment at my new dentist than in my 5+ years at Alameda Dental. read more

I went to Alameda Dental for a second opinion and was glad I did. I was treated with respect and courtesy by the friendly staff and Dr. Heather Weber. I was surprised to be seen right after I arrived at the office (apparently they're always on time, which I didn't think existed in medical/dental visits). Dr. Weber was kind, personable and professional. Her evaluation was absolutely honest, and the results were that my out-of-pocket expenses will be a fraction of what they quoted me at the other dentist (I don't have insurance). I have been to A LOT of dentists over the years, in search of that perfect match and i have to say i am constantly blown away by the treatment i have received in the two visits i have had thus far. My initial visit for a cleaning was excellent, both Dr. Weber and her assistants were pleasant, responsive, and gentle. On top of it I got the standard free toothbrush and toothpaste + free chapstick! They have three different flavors to choose from! I went back for a filling and once again, wow. From the injection to the finished filling it was quick and painless. In the past when i have went to dentists i could feel where the filling was put in, but i cant even tell with this one! Dr. Weber even called me to check in and see how the filling was feeling later in the day and left her cell phone should any problems arise. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this dental office. I have been to the hardass dentists that berate you about your teeth, i have been to the specialist that hold your hand, I have been to gentle dental, and i have tried the small family practice and this has to be one of the best experiences i have ever had. They dont rush you to get fillings, they are supportive of whatever needs to be addressed whether you need to floss a little more or have a filling, and they are ridiculously gentle and knowledgeable. read more
