Wow what an enjoyable time! Great bar food, home of the Lucky Boy Burger of yesteryear (updated) which was once an El Paso icon! Good music vibes. A beautiful bar, Today it is nicely decorated for Halloween. Live music about 8:00. The bar owner was so friendly and down to earth, working and enjoying getting to know his guests. It felt something like Cheers neighborhood bar. He knew his regulars, made everyone feel welcome. I had the Lucky boy burger with green chili and Munster cheese and crinkle fries. The burger had the original Lucky boy sauce. And they gave us wonderful salsa.. served with real tableware in a cloth napkin! The cook (Lalo) was also The bartender and such a friendly guy, he served the food and checked on us several times always making sure we had a great experience. Oh, and thank you Dr for the drinks. Service was really slow. Asked 5 times for water before it was brought. The food was okay once we got it The enchiladas were a bit dry, the pozole was okay. The star of the show was the homemade thick steak fries. I would go back just for the fries and nothing else. read more

I've new to El Paso, been to this bar three times, and had a GREAT time every time. Their burgers are EXCELLENT and try the loaded fries (comes with beans and cheese). The live music on Friday and Saturday nights has always been excellent as well, very high level of musicianship. By the way, the owner, Nando, sits in on drums with whoever is playing and he is a most excellent drummer, good voice as well. I am a 67 year old alcoholic who has been dry for 11 years and the bartenders have NEVER made me feel unwelcome for drinking coke. I'll never go back to The Rockin' Bar where I WAS made to feel unwelcome for not pounding alcohol like everyone else. I heard Guitar Slim (Pat Chase) tonight @ Lucky Boy, he is GREAT. read more

The place was remodeled really nicely. Just needs some cool art on the wall. Seems like a great little bar and hang out place. Will definitely go back to hang out and a drinks with friends. If you are going to just eat, just remember this is a bar and they serve bar food. Hubs had the Lucky Boy burger. Ordered it with cheese but they forgot it. Doesnt come with any lettuce, tomatoes, or onions and the patties they use are frozen patties. Well that's what he said he thought it was. The fries were hand cut and very tasty. I came in on their first day of opening the staff was friendly and the owner was eccentric!!! In a great way! I had a Mexican platter with enchiladas and tacos. I also ordered the chile con queso and it was amazing! Better than the place across the street. They used to have a place years ago serving the best burgers and they are back open & looks like they picked up where they left off. read more

I will never go back, they served my granddaughter a baked potaoe with rotten meat...I'm not kidding or exaggerating...the meat smelled so bad. The service was extremely slow and my family was their only customers. What a waste of hard earned money. read more

Bartender moves at a sloths pace, very frustrating. Drinks took 20 minutes an order. Food took an hour and only one order at a time came out, I ordered a chicken sandwich and after waiting the hour the bartender said chicken takes longer so it would be out later.... longer than an hour Ive already waited????? Then finally and last my daughters baked potato with picadillo came out and it smelled awful! I gagged and had to walk outside.... food had expired... never returning!!!! read more

My family had gone here for lunch one afternoon. Place was completely dead. There was the cook, a server and from what I learned, the owner. Our server was a nice girl. She kind of hovered over us looking at the menu. She took our order & then proceeded to clean the counters of the bar with some sort of chemical. When the food was ready, she simply took off the gloves she had on and got our plates. No hand washing in between or anything. I've worked in the food industry for many years and this is easily a way to get people sick. We barely touched our food, my burger was burnt, but I am not one to complain at restaurants. Again, server mentality. Maybe it was an off day. For us to have been the only people in this place, I think this is where the problem lies. We got our check, again server hovered over us to see how much tip was being left in assuming. We left after that. My mom, who paid for the meal, called the bar later on to speak to the owner about our experience since by the time our meal was done he was no longer present. My mom explained to him our experience and he said he would call my mom back in a bit. He calls back and basically calls my mom a liar about how the server didn't wash her hands, how she hovered over us & the food quality. She didn't even ask for money back, we just wanted to share our experience. For this reason, we will never return to this establishment nor will we ever recommend it. We are a huge supporter of local food but this is not the way to treat paying customers. read more

Went on a Saturday afternoon because there was a 30 minute wait at Kiki's across the street. There was only a few people there. That should have tipped me off. I ordered the red cheese enchiladas and my husband ordered the green chicken enchiladas. The server brought our drinks. My husband ordered an ice tea which tasted terrible and was served in a glass that had a big crack in it. I took it up to the bar and asked for a water instead. A while past and the server came by and told us that our order was almost ready. About 10 minutes later, she came back and said that the red enchiladas were ready but that they didn't have green sauce for the chicken enchiladas and did we want to change it to red sauce or order something else. My husband doesn't eat red enchiladas, so we said no. If we ordered something else, my husband would have to wait for his food. One order is ready and then they realize that they can't make the other order? What kind of restaurant are they running? We had already been there for 30 minutes, so we canceled our order. Our server brought us a check for $6...for a Diet Coke and the ice tea that we sent back. My husband didn't want to argue, so he paid and we left. Don't go there. I went one evening and only one person was working taking orders, serving, cashiering and bartending. The waiter was friendly but service was slow. The owner was there but sitting down with friends. The food when we got it was ok not what I expected they were not Lucky Boy burgers. Also Do NOT order sweet potato fries they breaded them and were pretty tasteless. The owner needs to remember that if he wants customers in his place he needs to work a lot harder. He should have been pitching in and taking orders or cashiering. read more
