I went here to see a buddy's film that he directed called Positions. What I love about Alamo is that they play independent films that you can't see at AMC or Cinemark. The food and drink service is always fast and the food is not bad for being a movie theater. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only thing I didn't like was the seats are kind uncomfortable. I wish they would update them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Alamo is always a fun venue for friends and movies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came for The Life of a Showgirl- the Taylor Swift movie. Huge thanks for the free light sticks- super fun and made the experience a blast! Docking stars for service. I had requested a water refill; welp, after an hour, the movie finished and I still hadn't seen a server visit my table (with red light on and all). Not sure if servers stop coming by after the movie starts?

Such a fun experience getting to go to the Elf movie party! Super cool that Alamo puts on these kind of events, especially for classic movies. There were props that went along with the movie and themed drinks and food! Would highly recommend going to Alamo for a movie party or any movie in general. The service was great as always.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Alamo is a great place to watch a film comfortably in a quiet theater while enjoying food and beverages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here are some tips on how ensure you have the best experience possible: *Arrive early. There is limited street parking. Walking from & doing the online validation of the garage parking will take some time. Plus, Alamo usually has special videos playing tailored to the feature film. *Plan Ahead. Check out the menu online before you go or peruse it as soon as you get there. Be ready to order as soon as the server comes by to check your tickets. This is going to be the best way for you to communicate directly with the server any preferences/modifications to menu items and find out if they are out of any of your choices. This is much harder by written note during the show. *[[HIGHLIGHT]]Turn off your phone and stay quiet during the movie. You can chat with your friends after the movie is over. People come here specifically for the quiet, phone-free atmosphere and they will report you if you are talking or using a device.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] *Order ASAP. They do last call for food and drink about an hour before the end of the film. If the film you are going to is short, last call will come quickly. Make sure you have all the food/drinks/refills you want early in the film. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seats here do not recline and have a shared table in between each set of 2 seats. These are much easier to get in and out of and reach your food/drink than the seating at the Westminster Alamo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I rarely go to the movies anymore. But when I do, I only go to Alamo theaters! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love being able to order from my seat and the chairs are so comfy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I recently went to see the new Wicked movie and loved that they had actors dressed as Glinda and Elphaba to take photos with![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My only complaint was that the service was slow because it was a packed theater. But overall, great experience.

The Alamo is one of our favorite theaters to watch movies. We came there with our boys to see the new Fantastic 4 movie. There food is really good--we love the Royal With Cheese Burger: Tillamook cheddar, beef patty, bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, lemon-garlic aioli, toasted bun (or sub GF bun)--the GF bun is really good. Best bottomless popcorn we've had at a movie theater! We also love that the food and drinks--yea they have alcoholic beverages that are also served where you are seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Normally the chairs at the theater are comfortable, however we were disappointed with how beat up/torn the chairs were--very uncomfortable to sit in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since the movie had already started I don't have photos of the food but I do of the theater, where we sat and the theater the movie was in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Other than the unusual uncomfortable seats we still had a good experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I just wanted to address that yesterday I went to go see Jurassic Park and had a lot of fun doing so. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Theatre we happened to be in could use a little TLC in regard to replacing some of the chairs, but outside of that I was pretty happy with my experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What I really came here to share was how surprisingly good the double burger was. It was seriously one of the best burgers I've had in Denver. My husband and I split this and fries and a drink and we were both just so impressed with the quality of it. Hope juicy crispy and the ingredients just really came together on this. And the service was also pretty good too. I know there aren't always a lot of staff here anymore but the person helping us was really helpful and kind and made sure we had everything we needed! (No burger pic because it was during the movie)

Celebrating my friends birthday here as this is her favorite theater. Against my druthers I took her. I say this because the last time I went I was not impressed with the food, and even so the theater is too dark to see the food. Well they did not disappoint. I ordered chicken tenders thinking they cannot mess those up. Well they did. I don't know what breading they use on it. The fries were lukewarm even the popcorn seemed kind of stale. If I was to go back I'd just stick to the beer. Other than that I'm glad that they stress to make the theater a quiet zone and won't let anyone in after the movie starts.

Clues were given out by using our phone to scan the barcode as the mystery progressed. Each table discussed clues and also people could wander to other tables to provide theories of who done it. Only 1 person guessed correctly. My partner and I had handed our photos in as requested. Imagine my surprise when both of us were picked to participate! I was suspect #1 and my partner was "interrogated " by the detectives but it was all in good fun and we took it in stride. The audience were awesome and the actors/staff were very organized and easily flowed with improv (we didn't have scripts). The Embassy Hotel was classy and the perfect setting for the show. We used the hotel valet parking garage for easy access. There was a pre choice of meals (chicken, pork, and vegetarian). Our chicken and pork were good but lukewarm. We ate salad and had cake for dessert. A cash bar was available. We each got a complimentary shot glass, "shots fired" because we did reviews. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Fun for special movie outings…read more We came to see Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein" with our friends and it did not disappoint. We've been to the downtown LA one a couple of times and the drill was the same: You start by scanning the QR code and making the initial order, then during the movie you write down your order on the provided pad and pressing the service call button. You have 20 minutes after the movie ends to settle up your bill; after that they will close it out for you with 20% gratuity. We ordered: - Spicy ranch popcorn (spicy! It's a dry powder so I should've gotten some light butter on it to hold the powder to the popcorn--we kept accidentally inhaling it, doh) - Churro crunch popcorn (not too sweet, with slight salty notes that gave it a really nice touch) - Vegan cauliflower bites with celery and fries (the gochujang sauce was a little too sweet and the fries were limp--just meh) - I got a Pilsner, hubby got an IPA The food was just ok but the service and atmosphere were great. The seats weren't THE most comfortable recliners, as they didn't recline quite as much as the AMC chairs we were used to, but they were fine. One of the best things at these theaters is the 15-20 minute montage they show before the movie that's related to the feature--worth getting there early for. Some of the clips they included were really obscure and funny, like the one from the 1960s where Frankenstein goes to college and becomes a party animal, lol.

I agree with everyone here regarding the QR Code ordering! They should at the very least have either an option to still order on paper, or an order a head option so that you can just order everything before you get there. AMC and Harkins even do that... You can say what time you wanna pick it up and then you can just pick it up on your way in. Since there's no human interaction anyway they might as well just let us do that. I also felt bad for the server because I didn't feel like he deserved what I would normally tip on the bill, but it's not his fault and I'm not sure how they're getting paid. It's not really fair to the workers either. So I tipped low on the app and then I felt bad so I gave him an extra money on my way out. The whole thing just really sucks.

Atmosphere & Performance This was The Notebook The Musical…read moreso it is different from the book and the movie. I would say the musical leans more toward a romantic comedy especially compared to the movie and you will definitely notice the differences. That said I still think The Notebook musical is great. I really enjoyed it and it absolutely still has those tearjerker moments. The cast was awesome and everyone sang so beautifully. The performances felt genuine and emotional and the atmosphere in the theater really helped pull everything together. Customer Service Customer service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly helpful and accommodating from the moment we arrived. As soon as I checked in they noticed I was a lottery ticket winner and congratulated me which was really sweet and unexpected. I did not need that but it was still a very thoughtful touch. Staff showed us where to go and once we got closer to our seating area another staff member walked us directly to our seats. Overall everyone was welcoming and made the experience feel smooth and stress free. Pricing & Parking I got my tickets through Lucky Seats. Which is a lottery-style system for discounted tickets. We won two tickets for a total of $78 and our seats were very close to the stage with a great view. Discounted tickets made the experience even better. Parking at DCPA was $17, and they only accept card payments. Parking was convenient, with several nearby options, and it did not feel overwhelming getting in or out. Food & Drinks For food and drinks I paid twenty two dollars total not including tip. I got one Sprite one bottled Sprite one bottle of Coca Cola and a pack of gummy bears. I understand it is for a great cause and supports DCPA but it is a bit pricey. If you need to sneak in your own snacks do what you gotta do. Overall Experience My overall experience was honestly perfect. The performance was amazing the seats were great and the entire night was so much fun. I would absolutely go back again and highly recommend checking out DCPA and one of their shows.

Harkins gives me the same intimate, independent feeling vs the big-box spectacle of AMC. The theatres are a nice mid-size with spectacular audio and top-tier seating. Qualities from a bygone era. Their prices are gloriously fair, and the food is pretty good - we've become fans of the crispy chicken sandwich and margherita + bbq chicken flatbreads.
