A great night was had! For my first dinner theater, I was fed well, I was entertained, and the interaction was more than I expected! At first I kept thinking, why such early dinner (it was at 5pm) as in my head, I assumed I would be eating while watching a show on stage far away. The stage was actually tiny, throughout the show, the actors would come down to interact with the audience so it's more immersive. That said, hurry and finish your din-din! They will ask that you turn around facing the stage. There are two little breaks between acts and everything was executed out in an orderly manner. Such a fun show! My family and I went for my birthday to the Hollywood Murder show and none of us had been there before so we had no idea what to expect. The theater is in this old Victorian style house with fun decorations as you walk through. The show we saw was on the main floor. We went for the lunch show which is cheaper than the dinner show but you still get the same meal and show! The actors were all very entertaining and had everyone in the crowd laughing! They have very loose scripts it seems and leave a lot of room to improv which was great! Overall, I highly recommend! read more

We just returned from this mystery playhouse. First, it was very entertaining. There were lots of laughs as the actors worked through the skit which included audience participation. Each table became a group tasked with evaluating the evidence and selecting the murderer. Now it's not that complex but there were many suspects with motives to include greed and jealousy. Our skit involved poisoning. All in all a fun time was had by all. Everyone received the same meal which in our case involved chicken, a salad and a side dish with roll. The facility does also offer adult drinks at an extra charge. The food itself was pretty good! Now I'm not going to say this was an awesome meal but it was well prepared and tasty enough for me. Parking was free and it did have handicapped access. There are many photos that have been posted so I just took one of the food we had. By the way after the skit they gave all guests a cookie for dessert. If you want to have a fun time this is the place to go. read more

Wow! What a great time we had for my B-day celebration! 46 or Bust! Everything was great from the hospitality, the food, and of course the show! First, the owners are incredibly hospitable and they truly want to make sure everyone has a great time! Carlos, one of the owners, called a bunch but he just wants to make sure the evening goes off without a hitch! Really appreciate that level of care and communication! The Food! TBH, I didn't have high expectations for the food but it was fantastic! I believe it was naturally GF, with the exception of the bread, and dairy free, with the exception of the butter for the bread. I have a friend with bad food allergies and she was psyched to find out she could eat what was served! I imagine this is done intentionally too! The show was great!!! They did a great job involving everyone in the crowd, they remembered the smallest details, and they created a great vibe! I honestly have nothing bad to say and loved the night we went too! My husband and I attended as a date night and laughed until we cried. There was ample parking in the lot, drinks were yummy, dinner was delicious. About half the audience dressed up and half didn't. We did - the theme was bootlegger/1920s. The actors were really great, so funny and good at improving. Tweens and teens would also enjoy this. Anyone celebrating an event was encouraged to participate and that just made the whole show funnier! I hope to be back soon for a different theme. read more

It has been a few years since Covid but took the family around Christmas this year and we all had a blast. The meal is standard fare of chicken, salad, potatoes and a roll and is served quickly when you arrive. Bring cash for the bar and tips. Make sure to bring enough cash to tip 15-20% as the cast are also your hard working servers. The shows are always funny and very interactive with the audience. Came here for a family Christmas celebration. This was the Holiday 'R' Horror mystery dinner. It was my second time here, but everyone's first. Don't let the actors and actresses fool you and think that you're in for something lame. This place does a great job all the time. Food is good and the show is just hilarious. It is interactive and they do a great job every time. The kids loved it and my son assisted up on stage. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show very much. This came as a surprise for me as a birthday present, so I didn't have hardly any time to plan to dress up on-theme, which they always encourage, but it is suggested that you dress casual formal. It appears that they always have 2 separate shows/events: one on the main floor and one in the basement aka "Six Feet Under", which was the one my boyfriend and I attended. Steampunk was the theme of our murder mystery. The actors double as the servers (bring cash for gratuity) and remain in character the entire time. While I couldn't eat much due to post-op reasons, I did nibble a bit at the food, which was all extremely tasty. Our entrée was oven-roasted chicken with a side salad, roasted potatoes, and a bread roll. Dessert was homemade chocolate chip cookies, drinks like water and iced tea were available in the room while alcoholic beverages were available at the bar throughout the night. There is very strong audience participation to the point where some audience members are chosen to be characters (as I was) and given lines and others are encouraged to stand up, introduce themselves, and read from the clues left at each table. The actors have wonderful senses of humor and try to involve everyone at their comfort levels. For me being very introverted, I was a bit nervous to have to act in front of an audience, but you have to step out of your comfort zone some time and there's no better place to do it than here. There was some adult level humor as well as "dad jokes" on a "so bad it's good" level of funny. It's a lot of give-and-take and improv. The more enthusiastic the audience, the better, but the actors are all on their toes and have a quip for anything the audience throws at them. The murder itself was easy to follow but not spoon-fed to you and our audience was about half and half in who correctly guessed the murderer, so it does make you think and try to piece together all the clues. An absolute thrill and not one critique or criticism from me other than I'm sorry it was over so soon. I've spread the word to friends and family and already have plans to come back with my brother. Happy to support a local business that's been out of the loop for a while due to the pandemic, but it's well worth every penny. And a special shout out to actor and server Travis S. (Peter Southward), my boyfriend's friend who put on a stellar performance and made the evening so enjoyable for both of us. read more

The playhouse for quite a few people and it seemed like every seat was taken. This was laugh out loud funny. Very interactive with the crowd but mostly a performance! Came here Saturday night for a friends birthday and what a fun experience! Our group had 17 people and we were seated across 2 tables (near each other) for Murder in the Royal Court. Apparently the mansion used to be a Mortuary and was built in the early 20th Century, so it feels a bit eerie. The have a small parking lot so plan to car pool if you are in a large group. Before you are seated for dinner you'll have a chance to grab drinks at the bar. If you are in a large group i'd recommend bringing cash, as they only allow 1 tab per group. The MC was hilarious and was quick on his feet. When his jokes didn't go over well he even turned that into a joke. The food was average but the show was outstanding! Definitely a must try if you are looking for something unique to do in Denver. read more

Checking in was a breeze, we skipped the bar (due to the line) and the scavenger hunt (because we arrived slightly later than expected). Our table upstairs was reserved for us with our name on it and Major Hottie (the actor aka Jim Young) came right over to introduce himself to us. He had us laughing from the minute we entered the door. We took our plates downstairs to get dinner which was just okay (eat before you go) but was a nice little snack. I didn't go in expecting much from the food due to other reviews and I'm glad I had already lowered my expectations. The show was hilarious and we couldn't stop laughing. Almost everyone in the room became a character for the show (props/ hats/ accessories were handed out before the show started. Our table ended up being the only table to solve the mystery which was exciting but in the end we were all winners. I am not sure which show we saw because the original one we had bought tickets for got canceled and they moved us (they called and asked, we were totally fine with it). It was actually great to be upstairs because it was a more intimate show and we got to know the other people in the room. There were many side shows between a couple getting up and leaving (due to an argument) and then two drunk girls in the hallways)- those were just icing on the cake. After the show you can get your palm read or hit up the bar one last time. We just sat inside relaxing and waiting for the Uber. read more

Such a fun evening. We got tickets to Adam's during a short trip to Denver. I recommend you uber since there is not a lot of parking. Our table was reserve when we got there and we did one of the more private sessions. It was so entertaining! Our moderator/entertainer was James Young, he was the Absolute BEST!! I highly recommend doing the show with him. Such a great performer. Overall the whole experience was a lot of fun and we will definitely be returning. It wasn't a big deal for us, but I do recommend you don't count on the food, it was not the best. read more

A MUST SEE FOR SURE. 5+ stars, what an experience!! The entire cast and owners were great and very hospitable. You could tell the cast loved what they were doing and worked so well together. They quickly picked up on audience quirks (a Brighton club was celebrating "all the holidays") and wittily incorporated them into the storyline. Each show will for sure be different. We got a table towards the front (random assignment) but they still do a great job of incorporating the entire audience. You might even be selected to guest star and play a role! Go out, be an extrovert for a night and you won't regret it. Food was also excellent, potatoes were nice and soft, good flavor. Drinks were tasty and well priced ($6-7, hot chocolate/Keurig cups $1). Went there about a week ago and absolutely enjoyed the show. The food is delicious. I've been here several times and each show is amazing. Love the audience participation with the performers. I would give it a 5 Star however when we arrived a bit early due to the parking issue we were told to park in the street. He (the owner) would not open the parking lot. First off, there is not much parking offered so you have to find a spot on the street or infront of a house. When you walk in there is a little scavenger hunt that pertains to the mystery dinner. All the actors are out and about playing their roles. Then you get seated in your "playroom" and get food buffet style. The food was okay, nothing special, but edible. Once your done eating the mystery act starts. The actors and actresses are pretty corny, which is the same for the script. They definitely tried to get everyone involved and it was fun at certain points, but the corniness was sometimes too much. Overall, it was good to experience, but I think they could have stepped it up in certain places. read more

Definitely try this place out with a group of friends if you're visiting Denver! It's a live "Clue" play like the board game. They interact with the audience and will choose random people to just read, answer questions, or dance! They have a bar and they provide you with dinner. Just don't have high expectations for dinner. The food is OK but it's what they can do to feed a large room. The night that I was there, we had basic salads and spaghetti. You help yourself to coffees and teas at the stations which is nice. Coming to a mystery, you have to embrace it. Yes there will be cheesy moments but embrace the cheese! The actors work really hard to entertain you, tell their stories and engage with the audience. I had been wanting to come to a murder mystery dinner for some time now. While in town at Denver, I figured I would give this place a shot as it seemed more unique to me than the ones we have back home. I had so much fun at this event! The cast was awesome - they were funny, witty, personable, and remained in character even during the intermissions. There were a ton of people attending the event and they had all of us randomly assigned to tables. For the groups such as mine that were smaller (2 people), you would be seated with up to 8 others that you didn't know. Tables would team up to figure out clues about the murder. The cast did a good job about integrating all the groups together by placing different clues at each table so you would be forced to get up and go and mingle with other guests. We also did a conga altogether which was very interesting. In the end, my table won a prize for guessing the correct murderer. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the dinner component - it seems they don't really change the menu up as it was the same food that I had seen advertised a couple of months ago (green salad, fruit salad, teriyaki chicken, rice, self-serve coffee/tea bar, and assorted desserts like cookies and brownies.) I wish they would make the food known prior to the event, as no one knew what to expect. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer: this is probably a lot of fun if you have been drinking steadily for a couple hours before the show, but as the sober one in my group, it was kind of hokey. You start out on the main floor, where you are handed a scavenger hunt to complete while you mingle with other guests and drink. The bar has limited options. Then you are ushered into the dining hall, where you grab and plate and go get your food - the night we went this was a very bland chicken teriyaki, plain white rice, fruit salad and rolls. The food was only relatively bad - if it were a home cooked meal, it would be pretty good, but for a professional caterer, it was pretty disappointing. Dessert consisted of store-bought brownies and cream puffs. Again, WTF caterer? During dinner actors come around and drop hints to the table. Some of the actors were very entertaining, others were so bad that they made everyone uncomfortable. After everyone was done eating we were herded downstairs, and boy could you tell this was a basement in an old house! Cold, damp, and smelling of mildew. At this point, the murder takes place and everyone is handed a clue packet. I can't speak for all the shows, but for the one I went to, Murder at the Improv, I couldn't help but feel that the clues were designed for grade school children to easily solve. Also, the clues included elements of a plot that was completely absent in the show, so it all felt very disconnected. If you solve the mystery (pro tip: don't overthink it), your prize is a fridge magnet so that you can supply the theater with free advertising in your home. Color me thrilled. Overall, my experience with Adams Mystery Playhouse left me thankful that I didn't purchase a ticket. If I had, I would have felt ripped off. The show is best described by one of the other participating teams the night of our event: when it was time to solve the mystery, we were asked to write down who dunnit, why, and what the perpetrator's punishment should be.
