If you know me you know I'm not a fan of the dentist, matter of fact, I didn't mind not having insurance for several years because it was just another reason not to go but I may be changing my tune. I've had a few really bad experiences and have always left in a ton of pain but not this time. Thanks Steven! I was referred to Dr. Heap by way of my co-worker that has been a patient of his for sometime now. I trust her opinion whole heartedly and thanks to my sweet insurance benefits I can finally be an "adult" and go to the dentist. I was nervous for the visit and even more nervous for who my hygienist would be (I've usually had very mean sadistic older ladies in the past) but to my surprise Steven popped into the waiting room. He is super nice and has a very calm nature which perfectly counteracted my anxiety (as I did my best not to cry when he let the seat back to check out my chompers). To my surprise, after being away from the dentist for so long my teeth weren't in terrible shape; outside of significant tarter build up (it's been a long time guys), Steven said I had no plaque and he considered my efforts in brushing commendable. Two hours later, maybe 200 questions from me, and a consult from Dr. Heap we were done. My mouth is in little to no pain (for once!) and I only have a couple small cavities to take care of. Note, Dr. Heap is also super nice and has a very calm nature. The facility is nice, the staff is even nicer and I'm all booked for my fillings and next cleaning. I highly suggest you give MVFD a try and make sure you request Steven and Dr. Heap! It may take a month or so to get in but it's totally worth the wait. I'm so glad I've conquered this fear, it's a giant weight of my shoulders. read more

Dentist Billing is absolutely atrocious! The wrong insurance was filed on leaving everyone confused. If you go here you have to be your own auditor. Predatory billing occurs. Most recently I was told I needed a crown replaced. This was on various occasions. Thankfully I saw not 1 but 2 reputable dentists who have said the crown is in excellent condition duration. In fact replacing as preventative can actually create the need for a later root canal! They are shameless. There is huge turnover with their front office and billing staff which explains why they are so careless with people's dental claims. They overbook patients leading to extremely long wait times upfront in the wait room with NO WiFi for patients and while in the chair for even the most routine of procedures. Hygienists and actual Dr.s also do not last long. There is huge turnover. The newer very good dentist Dr. C. has now indicated she too is leaving! Parking is very limited in a lot where most parking is reserved for other vendors customers and paperwork is constant. They do NOT answer their phones! You have to make 3-4 calls in order to get a live human and leave a message leads nowhere read more

General cleaning this time. Always timely with their appointments and Jenna was very thorough and gave me helpful hints as how to keep the tarter from building up. Have had multiple crowns redone due to the age of my old ones and always satisfied with the end result. Been going to this practice for over 25 years. Highly recommend them. read more

Dr. Heap and his staff is very precise and detailed. I am very loyal and will only let Dr.Heap office attend to anything dealing with my teeth. Just make sure your insurance is up to date because they do verify everything before your appointment. read more

Have been a patient for over 20 years but if you need to have a cleaning and have to reschedule the appointment that you make 6 months in advance, you end up waiting another 6 months even if they tell you they will call if they have a cancellation. I am really disappointed as all of the staff including Dr Heap are very nice (with the exception of the person who answers the phone and is not very courteous). It's a shame but I will be looking for a dentist who values me as a long term patient. read more

Been coming here for 25 years! Staff is great - always welcoming. Doctors always willing to take time to explain and answer questions. Have to book ahead since appointments fill up quickly but they often reach out when they have cancellations to see if they can accommodate sooner if needed. read more

I saw Dr. Heap most recently to have a 40 year old crown replaced that came loose. I phoned Dr. Heap's office on Thursday as Hurricane Ian was thrashing the area, not expecting to get a return call before the following Monday. To my surprise I received a return call on Friday even though the office was closed due to the weather. They squeezed me into his Metrowest office Saturday afternoon. After some x-rays Dr. Heap put the crown back in place and I was on my way. My wife and I have seen Dr. Heap since 1986 and would not consider another dentist. We always are treated gently and effectively. The office staff including the receptionist are cordial and professional. You won't find a better practice or a better dentist than Dr. Heap. read more

One of my least favorite things to do in life is going to the Dentist, I typically could hear the daunting music in the background. Well thank God for Dr. Heap and his wonderful Staff. I was a new patient, and based on prior experiences at other Dentist offices I usually have to wait forever and a day to be seen. This was not the case at this office after filling out my paperwork, I was seen immediately. Shocker! Steven escorted me to the back and was responsible for preparing my exams, and for my annual cleaning. Steven is super personable and made what is normally a dreadful experience for me a very positive experience. I did not feel like I was just another number, I genuinely felt cared for as a patient. Steven from beginning to end was detailed, and did a thorough job in executing my cleaning and explaining the issues that I am currently having with my teeth. He made sure during the process to make sure that I was comfortable and to top it off had a great sense of humor. I was surprised at how at ease I was. Then after my great experience with Steven, Dr. Heap himself did my final evaluation and also did a great job of putting me at ease. I was given a Goodie bag which included a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. Yeah to Goodie bags that support preventative health! My checkout at the receptionist desk was with the Lovely Laura. Overall, my experience was surprisingly pleasant and so welcoming. This is my official dentist, so happy after many years that I have finally found a home. This particular office is located in the beautiful Veranda Park in the Metrowest Area. Also, if you are worried about parking space, there is plenty. A+++++plus for people who still actually care. Been going to Dr Heaps office when it was just Dr Heap!! So obviously a long time!! And I've been happy the entire time -- until today! Didn't like that I showed up and my usual hygienist wasn't there and no one had called to let me know (found out she's gone??)... never did get the name of the hygienist today -- she didn't tell me or offer name - I didn't ask. They took X-rays, yet the dentist never looked at them... bet I get charged!!! The dentist had very animated conversations with patients/hygienist's that much "younger" girls like him!! He's maybe in his late 40's/early 50's but was bragging LOUDLY how girls in their early to mid 20's love him!! He went on to talk about he's a "butt" man (but used a different word). Keep in mind -- I'm truly not easily offended and normally would find this conversation laughable but this was a very diverse age group of both men/women and I don't believe he knew everyone in the office. This is what I listened to while getting my teeth cleaned!!! WOW!! How professional... He's got a foul mouth as well! I won't say his name because anyone there that day will know who it was -- and I will say he has a rough chair side manner as well! First time I was disappointed at Dr Heaps office!! If this is the direction his office is going -- I'll be finding a new office IMMEDIATELY!!! I did try to speak with the office manager to express my concern but she/he was not in the office so I left a message to contact me. Dr. Heap gave me a new crown yesterday. I have a very little mouth and of course this was the furthest back upper molar making it a little more challenging for me and Dr. Heap. However, Dr. Heap and his assistant, Haylee, were so calming, gentle and patient in working with me. Dr. Heap is efficient and effective. He does quality work and can do it quickly. Definitely reflecting his years of experience and dedication and pride to his profession. Haylee took great care of the crown to make the fit and bite perfect! She definitely knows her stuff and lucky for me, seems to be a perfectionist. She also has years of experience and it shows in how she does her work and the end result for the patient. I would seriously let my teeth rot and fall off before I went back to this dentist. In and out service, waiting and upselling like I've never experienced in my life. The admin people are relentless, they will shake you down for payment up front regardless of whether or not you have insurance. My family has NOT changed our dental practices, only our dentist and know all of us appear to need crowns, filings and anything else they can sell. Went in on short notice for a cleaning and to have a problem molar looked at. Steven gave a very relaxed and thorough cleaning. I almost dozed off during the process. My husband and I have been going to Dr Heap for years and we love him. Always so kind, caring and explains things very well. We have seen the other dentists in the practice and are equally happy with them. They are a true family dentist, wonderful with children! A couple of years ago we had some issues with our pediatric dentist and needed to change so I called for a reference. They said we see kids too. We took both our girls to get a couple of fillings and they didn't use gas on them. I was shocked at how much better my kids. Dr Heap was so wonderful my kids didn't even think he used a needle to numb them. My oldest daughter needed a few baby teeth pulled today and can get very stressed about new dental procedures. Today Dr Heap pulled 3 teeth and by the time she got in the car she was smiling (at least half way!) I can't say enough great things about Dr Heap and the whole staff there. read more

Dental work was ok.. i did have a crown spacing issue that was never fixed unless I wanted to pay for a new crown - even though they installed the one with the problem. My biggest issue is their billing practices and office staff. Don't ever have an insurance or billing issue or the snarky, passive-aggressive team will come out. They treat you very transactionally and not like a good long term patient should treated. It's one thing to run a business and make money it's another to treat your patients like transactions. There are better dentists in town that treat you like a person not a revenue object. I would not recommend! read more

Dr Heap has been my dentist for over fifteen years. He and his staff are professional, well-trained and exceptionally friendly. Cleanings are quick and painless and I've seen him work with clients when they needed extra dental work and he always makes everything work. Gorgeous building, stellar service. My father's dentist here is the only female dentist named Doreen, the other two are male and it appears to be a family owned business with lots of family photos around. Doreen is so kind and patient with my dad who has dementia. She's also reasonable about your needs and finances. Only downside is you have to park in a lot next door and go upstairs. Sucks when you are in a hurry. Also the lobby is the size of a tin can. read more

By far the best dentist I have been to in Orlando. His office staff is extremely nice and they do an excellent job. Dr. Heap is obviously very experienced and is very friendly. This is not like some of the cosmetic dentists offices that I have seen in Orlando. This is more of a normal family dentist. They aren't interested in giving you unnecessary dental treatments. They only perform what you need. I'll be going here for many years. read more
