They are professionals in their field and yet personable. Dr. Simmonds and Dr. Mehtani are knowledgeable and provide years of combined experience and expertise. A place that can take all of your dental needs. Let me first say I was referred. My initial consultation was informative and the services rendered after have been great. They Take different insurances, however if you don't have full coverage for a service you will be asked to pay for difference before certain procedures. I asked them to send through insurance to verify before paying and checked with insurance on what they cover so the "correct" amount is paid. I was introduced to Dr. Simmons by a colleague of hers, my orthodontist Dr. Baptist. I told him that the previous practice I was going to was not cutting it. Dr. Simmonds is very rude! I went in to have a crown put back on and some other work done. I had them to put the crown back on a few months earlier, so I asked the assistant if I needed to pay again, because it came off so soon...thinking it may still be covered. Dr. Simmonds comes in, not greeting me, with a really nasty attitude saying she did me a favor putting it back on before, which of course, was never mentioned previously. It wasn't a favor, I paid. I was going for almost a year, but only saw her a couple of times. I always felt slightly uncomfortable with her and now I know why. She's not genuinely concerned about her patients and insists on the most expensive work being done first, despite your plan. I will never go back. read more

Absolutely hands down the best dental experience I've ever had!! I recently moved to the area and was looking for a dentist. I haven't been to the dentist in over 5 years and was in need of one. I'm so glad I found this place through yelp and it's close to my home. From the moment I walked through the door, I wasn't sure what to expect. However I was greeted right away and the lobby was so warm and welcoming. There is complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby as you wait. For new patients I recommend showing up early as there is a medical questionnaire that you would have to fill out. I showed up early and filled it out and lastly they took a photo of me for their records. I didn't have to wait long before I was brought back in. I was given a thorough tour of the facility, which I really appreciate because I've never had that happen before with other dental offices. I also got to meet most of the staff and they made me feel very welcoming like I'm part of the family. They also give you a welcome gift bag which is a very nice touch. After my dental exam, Dr. Simmonds explained my problem areas and I'm glad I'm not a lost cause after all these years. She educated me on what I need to do and taught me a lot about my teeth. I'm very thankful for it. After my first initial visit, I'm very impress with everything. Completely amazing practice led by a dentist who embodies person-centeredness in health care. Dr. Simmonds is a shining example of a caring and compassionate clinician who sees patients as complete people with unique needs. Her commitment to personalized care and team-based treatment is evident from the moment you walk in the door. Front desk staff are friendly, skilled, and knowledgeable. Their acumen and kindness in answering questions over the phone before I chose this practice is unparalleled in my experience. I am not an easy patient as far as dental care goes because I have cystic fibrosis and surgically reconstructed gums thanks to losing the original tissue to chronic infections. But I left my new patient appointment feeling completely confident that Dr. Simmonds and her team could take great care of me and keep my mouth healthy for years to come. In addition to meeting Dr. Simmonds herself, I also worked with hygenist Candace and technician Kiara. Both were superbly professional and exceptionally attentive to my comfort throughout the visit. They were also inquisitive without being invasive, demonstrating a genuine interest in learning what makes me unique as a person and as a patient. The office itself was clean, bright, cheerful, and comfortable. Staff seemed genuinely happy to be working there and no one seemed rushed or overburdened with their case load for the day. This practice is clearly well managed by a person who understands what's most important in health care. Simmonds Dental accepts most major insurance plans with a PPO structure, so if you have an HMO, opt for the special new patient package at a discounted price and then switch your insurance type if you want to keep working with the practice in the future. It's been a couple of years since I last wrote a Yelp review, but given the service I was provided today at Simmonds Dental Center, I felt compelled to dig up my old password and account. First off, I am absolutely terrified of dentists. Some people have nightmares about zombies, serial killers, and the apocalypse. My personal hell? It's sitting in a seat and getting my teeth and gums poked and prodded. My last dental experience left a foul taste in my mouth (literally. I don't even want to think about it because I feel my blood pressure rising every time), and I had since decided that short of getting my face smashed in by a moving truck, I was not going back to ANY dentist. Well... My face didn't get smashed in, but I DID start paying for dental insurance, so I figured I may as well put a year's worth of insurance fees to use and went scouring across Yelp/Google, looking for a dentist with decent reviews. I was a little hesitant at first, but from my first appointment to my cleaning today, I have nothing but good things to share. Everyone at the office is very friendly and accommodating, and I received a grand tour during my visit where Yessenia showed me the ins and outs of their office, as well as how they sanitize their tools after use. I can't recall a single time in the past where anyone has taken the time to do that. It was informative and it really helped allay any fears of dental tools cracking, breaking, and getting lodged up my throat. During my first check up, I was told everything I needed to (but didn't necessarily WANT to) hear after a two year absence in cleanings. There was no attempt to sell questionable procedures or treatments, and they were very upfront about the costs. It felt every bit like how a dental practice should be run, and was miles apart from the shady door-to-door salesman feel I got from my previous dentist. (Quick anecdote here: That year's-worth of insurance I've been paying? Isn't taken here. But I was so sold on the place that I didn't care that I would be paying out of pocket. Coming from a teacher's salary? Means a lot! I could be living in a box under I-4 next month, but at least I can chew on both sides of my mouth now.) Today's procedure was the cleaning, and I can tell you with full confidence and (almost) no shame that I was ready to tunnel myself out through the back floorboards if my hygienist had looked away just once. Peggy, my hygienist, wasn't able to take my blood pressure due to the machine malfunctioning (but I'm 50% sure it was because I was already dead inside from abject terror about What Was to Come). However, once she actually got started, I have to admit that it wasn't bad at all. She was very considerate of my needs and provided not only protective eye gear (for the stray spurts of water and probably to help hide the humiliation if an adult woman began bawling hysterically), but also vaseline for my lips (to alleviate the dryness). After the cleaning, I mentioned that I would need to make a secondary appointment to treat my cavities, and Peggy graciously offered to let me get my self-torture completed all in one go. I know that the office is very busy, so I appreciated this gesture beyond what I could express at that point (which was a brave smile and a ton of tiny whimpers in my mind). As a hygienist, she's really amazing, and I really do recommend anyone with fears of painful cleanings to ask for her. My previous dentist had filled one of my cavities in such a way that it left me unable to chew without discomfort on the right-hand side of my mouth. Dr. Razz went in, fixed that right up, and the entire procedure went without a hitch. Cavity fillings are never fun, but she and her dental assistant made the effort to keep me entertained and engaged with conversation; and for about 2 minutes, I was able to ignore how awkward it was to have 4 gadgets and gizmos protruding out of my mouth while I drooled off to the side. So in short? I would definitely come back to their office for another cleaning. And this time? I'M NOT WAITING TWO YEARS. Side note: My boyfriend also had a cleaning here. He says it went well. But he doesn't know what it's like for it NOT to go well, so his opinion doesn't matter as much as mine. :) read more

Couldn't ask for better treatment of my last minute emergency(sort of):( Day before I crack/chipped part of my front tooth and started literally freaking out(for the luck of better word). I immediately begen looking via social media (Google Yelp) whats the best chance for me to be treated as soon as possible on such a short notice. I was at this office about a year ago. The 3 stars are for the front desk and for the waiting area, its clean and welcoming, but once you see the dentist or the assistant its like you dont want to be there no more. The dental assistant was cutting me off while i was telling her my reason there. When i asked her about the prices she said that you have to sit down with the lady that takes care of the finacial stuff. Well ok, but she mentioned that its very expensive, like almost felt like asking me if i can afford it. Then comes the dentist, and i asked her what is the best option for me( just to mention i had a bronken tooth at the gum line and wanted to do someting with it, was scared for any infections) she is like you have 3 options: 1. do nothing 2. a brigde and 3. An implant. When i heard that she said do nothing i was like, how come can you say something like that??? Well if i were to do nothing i would not be sitting your chair now. She was not very welcoming at all. Then i sat down with the lady that takes care of the finacial part and gave me a price that seemed kind too much for a tooth only. I told her that i will shop around lil bit, she is like let me take a look again. But i already knew that i just wasnt trusting them. She then gives me another price and apologizing that she made some mistakes about the estimate. She does the math again deducted couple hundreds and was like can you believe what a great deal i can do for you??? The experience i had with them is i dont know if i can trust them with my dental work. This was the most enjoyable experience I could have expected at a dentist office. The staff are really nice very attentive. As a new patient they give you a tour around the office, while explaining to you the experience of the dentist and hygienists in the office. There are flat screen HD TV ' s in each room for the patient's pleasure. They offer things to make you feel more comfortable during your visit (ex: heated neck pillows and even headphones for Pandora!). Dr. Simmonds came in and she answered all of my questions and the entire atmosphere made me feel good about being at the dentist. They even gave me a gift bag full of great and useful items! Just returned from having a tooth extracted and can honestly say it was soooooo much better than expected. Relatively pain free and quick and easy. First its important to know I hate the dentist. I haven't been in a very long time. This is a very nice place to visit and my level of comfort was a two on a scale from one ten initially. Im at a level 10 for comfort now because everyone treats you like a star. You will be oriented to the whole team. The family like environment is welcoming. My experience with Dr. Catral and Kiara was by far the best I've have EVER had in my time going to the dentist. They put you at ease and make you comfortable before doing any work.
