Looking back now, I can't imagine this past year without Alexis and her team at the Little Things. Alexis is cool, calm, and collected. She has an incredible eye and seemingly limitless patience. She gave me the space to design specific elements of our wedding while providing her expertise at every turn. Her high standards have helped her build a network of vendors who truly bring their A-game. My fiancé and I definitely put The Little Things through the ringer with our out-of-the-box interactive displays and AV set up. Alexis took it all in stride, remaining positive, managing our expectations, and meeting every challenge presented and exceeding expectations throughout. If you view wedding planners as a "nice to have," and not a "necessity," I would change your thinking. There are SO many things that can come up, and they would have easily derailed us many times in our planning if it were not for Alexis who acts as part wedding planner, part therapist throughout the process! ha! When you look back at your wedding, if you're like us, you will constantly be bringing up amazing memories, and you will find yourself saying "Imagine we didn't have Alexis."

After following TLT on IG for some time, I knew I liked their high-end, laidback vibe, and from our first conversation we were bowled over by how those traits translated to the people behind the scenes. From early days with thoughtful questionnaires into every aspect of our identity, Alexis and Kayla began the journey of getting to know us better than we knew ourselves, and helped us establish a mood, a design aesthetic, and a way of working together that made the year of planning our wedding a true joy. What you can expect from working with TLT: monthly meetings where you will laugh until you cry, a meticulously organized online checklist of to-dos with assigned owners and gentle and timely reminders, to be presented with teams of vendors who match your vibe and price point (you can always suggest your own vendors and TLT will vet them too), never having to send a single email to a vendor (!!!!), a sense of comfort knowing that everything is IS THE BAG, and in the critical days leading up to the big day and including the big day itself - being able to be present and enjoy this once in a lifetime experience. We had a short window to plan the event and Myriam was on top of EVERYTHING; she left no detail unattended. I was worried about everything because my siblings and I were planning this party from sunny California and the party was in Massachusetts. Myriam did an amazing job at putting my mind at ease. From her amazing recommendations of vendor choices to her innate abilities to capture the theme we were going for; her service is bar none. Myriam's business acumen is superb. Her patience and communication style made the three of feel like she wanted this party to be as big of a hit as we did. We hosted almost 90 people and Myriam had everything under control. From making sure the food arrived on time and working with outside caterers, wait staff, and entertainment; it was all taken care of. She even made sure we got all the family pictures we wanted, which proved to be the most valuable takeaway. Myriam has the expertise that you want when planning an event of any significance. A number of amenities were made affordable, and therefore feasible, because we hired M&M. The rates we received from vendors, with Myriam as our representative, were far more favorable then the ones we sussed out before hiring her. Not only were the prices great, but the service was also exceptional. Her professionalism and reputation spurred vendors to do an excellent job so that she would one day advocate for them, too. Before we hired Myriam, we had very little idea of how much we should expect to spend, and as a result, we were hesitant to make any firm commitments. We had been engaged a year and a half when we met Myriam, and had decided upon absolutely nothing. I am especially thankful for Myriam's patience with us as we got used to synthesizing and articulating the details of our dream wedding. Wedding planners have to be gifted arbitrators, since the traditions, wishes, and opinions of two people (and by extension, two families) have to be weighed equally, and ultimately reconciled into something unique, memorable, and beautiful. In the days leading up to the wedding, my bridesmaids frequently commented (with no small amount of surprise and relief) about how relaxed I was going into the big day. I think that's because I had entrusted my wedding to the right person.

The after party for my wedding was also a 1000/10. The music was ON POINT thanks to Michael and they even worked with our band to transition from the live music to the DJ. They ave all the supplies such as glassware (wine glasses, corkscrew), plates and napkins. My first event here was for a "Paint Your Pet". That is considered one of the special events since there are specific instructions to submit by at least ~2 weeks in advance the reference photo so they can screen print it onto the canvas so it is more of a "paint by numbers" than following the instructor since it would be challenging to paint each unique pet. They offered great guidance of how to start. Understandably depending on the fur or pet detail it may take longer. I loved how mine turned out and proudly display it at home. They also offer a reward/loyalty system and somehow I have completed enough paintings at this point to level up to "Collector" so I'm excited to redeem a free painting session. After each event they send out a review survey so if you fill it out you receive a 10% off discount code for the next booking. I also got a birthday gift code of 20% off that I used for the most recent "Autumn Porch Leaner" class. Since I've also completed so many standard canvas paintings at this point I've also branched out now into the unique long/tall paintings for a different experience. He is pretty with it, but could not do mourning over zoom. We thought of using a tent in the backyard. One quick google search led me to Jim Mariano's "backyard tent rentals" business. From the minute I called him, when I was so recently bereaved, he was as helpful and caring as family. He guessed our request was for sitting shiva and offered chairs and table and tablecloth, and by the very next morning he had set up a 20x20 tent in my father's backyard, and even returned with a gift for him. I'll always be grateful to Jim for helping us out to sit shiva for my mother during these trying days of COVID-19, it has been an absolute blessing for our family, and I'm so glad we found his business and called him to rent that tent.

If you have ever been to a Taylor Rental, it is a place to rent expensive equipment such as tools,…read moreparty equipment and even heavy machinery. Having not ever run a paint sprayer before, I decided to rent one to redo a basement with Latex paint on the walls. Calling three or four days ahead allows you to reserve it by putting down a credit card. Seems easy right? That is until you meet the staff at this particular location. Not a lot of personality nor an ounce of customer service. No greetings, no anything. I mean its situated in Wellesley (no offense) but its a rental place for crying out loud. Regardless, the rental seems smooth (except for the $150 deposit you have to put down to rent one of these things) and then I get home to use it and the thing does not want to work with the thickness of the paint. Diluting it does not work either so it basically fails. I return it one day early only to be beaten up by I guess the owner who looked like he was either having a bad day or hates working at a Taylor Rental, because he would have never rented this to me, had he knew I was using it for a basement. The guy not only started going off on me, he started going off on the guy helping me to return this. I told him to eat the deposit for the trouble and have a nice day. It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen and this is one of the worst rental places in the area. Tell you what, educate your customers on your equipment prior to renting and go learn some customer service! if you ever want to rent something, stick with the location in West Roxbury. At least you won't get treated poorly by some irate manager.

They truly allow you to be a guest at your own wedding. Their professionalism and experience in the industry make them well respected among vendors and a pleasure to work with. They handled almost every detail of our wedding--vendor contracts, paper goods (invitations, menus, place cards), transportation, flowers, room blocks etc. They created a peace of mind and ease going into a wedding that allowed for me to feel relaxed and calm on the big day. Without us even asking, they initiated coordinating all of our wedding signage with a local calligrapher. This was a small detail that we never would have thought of, but it was the perfect touch that our wedding needed. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Carolyn and I were emailing and texting daily. Before the wedding day even arrived, I already felt like I didn't know what I would do without them. On the actual day of they exceeded our expectations in every way possible. They coordinated every detail with each of our vendors every step of the way. My parents kept raving about their level of professionalism. They even tracked down each of my male family members scattered throughout the hotel to personally pin boutonnieres to each of their jackets! They stayed until the very end of the wedding so we didn't have to think about a thing at the end of the night. But the real icing on the cake is that they personally dropped all the gifts off to our apartment (I gave them a spare key and they quietly snuck in while our pet sitter was sleeping!) Seriously, saying they went above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe these ladies. We had a very specific vision for our wedding and Mary Kate and Carolyn ensured that it was executed beautifully. So many of my friends would often ask, "How is wedding planning going?" And I'd say, "I'm not doing much!" and that's really what it is like to work with wedding planners. I know it is a splurge, but if you're super super busy, have a lot of things to deal with, are planning from a distance, I cannot imagine planning without wedding planners. Here's what the process worked like for me: 1) During the initial set up, Adrienne and Elizabeth went over with me all of the things we had to do during the course of wedding planning - which vendors to book, approximate milestones, etc. 2) I shared with them my vision for what I wanted my wedding to look like - black and white with touches of pink, and they really helped affirm a lot of my ideas! They even came up with the really really unique idea of having a black and white dance floor, which I didn't know was possible. It was a great and unique touch to my wedding 3) GLE took care of all the contracts and back and forth with various vendors, which helped cut down on time on my end. They also found this great hidden gem of a venue for me that fit my vision - a grass field with trees, and a spot to have a tented wedding. I would NEVER had found this venue by searching on my own as they're not frequently advertised in wedding magazines or in blogs. I was also planning long distance - from New York, NY, and couldn't be onsite to visit vendors as often, so I relied on GLE to handle a lot of the Boston-side things. 4) They're always around to answer some of the questions that as a bride you just don't know the answer to! Like... how much are you supposed to tip everyone? How many hotel room blocks should I be holding? 5) They did so many last minute things like... pick up a bunch of candy jars for me for my candy buffet, set up my escort card display, help me with my veil, inflate helium balloons and set them up at the entrance to my wedding ceremony, clean up 6) They also attended my tasting with my caterer (YUMMY) and helped handle several last minute issues that happened along the way of wedding planning. These things always happen! And if it weren't for GLE, I would have had a much harder time figuring out how to troubleshoot things. I had a BLAST at my wedding - I wasn't running around trying to take care of things. On the day of everything that was under our control ran so smoothly (let's face it, you can't control the weather or a guest arriving late - but man, I had a perfect day). I had so much fun I slept so soundly the day after ;) I can't recommend them enough, and I've had several friends of mine use GLE as well for their wedding planners. I'm so happy to have them as my friends, and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone that is looking for a fantastic set of wedding planners!

She runs and IS Alankar, and is completely, your safety net…read more She ran my wedding in July, she did all of the decor, she gave me contacts, she gave advice to the white Irish girl whose in-laws live in San Diego, while we planned the wedding in Massachusetts. Sometimes she's a little hard to get a hold of/to get to call you back, however she ALWAYS comes through in the clutch. She is a very busy lady, and has at least 1 wedding every weekend, but when it comes to the date of your event, you feel like you are the only one. I don't know what I would have done without this woman, I shudder at the thought. I can't thank Shobha enough for all of her help, her calm demeanor, and her keeping me sane.

Our venue had tricky logistics and they handled them with ease. The night of went flawlessly and people have been raving about the food at our wedding all week. From the apps, the tuna tartare in the cones, the lobster salad on potato chips, the truffle arancini and the grilled cheese and tomato soup were the biggest hits. They have the old estate with its beautiful decor, the terrace that looks out over the water, the field with the old tea house, and a stunning garden. Endless photo opportunities! The food from Fireside Catering is absolutely delicious and they have tons of food options. One of the best parts of the venue is the coordinator Laura. She is a ray of sunshine and genuinely kept us from having multiple breakdowns. Laura is very organized and has a wealth of knowledge. She knows the venue very well which made making decisions very easy. Laura made planning our wedding so much easier and we feel so lucky to have had her as our coordinator!! While all Fireside Catering venues are wonderful, the Estate at Moraine Farm is a hidden gem and we couldn't recommend it enough!

The dining tables were lovely - set with votive candles, small bud vases with roses and menus with our group name/logo. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We received a lot positive feedback from the dinner guests who enjoyed their meals and the ambiance of the evening. Taylor, Karim and their staff provided excellent service throughout the night and were attentive to our guests with dietary restrictions. She was going to make a terrible day a great one and she did. She gave us great service, extra things we did not pay for like a a collector mug. She smiled and interacted with us. The food was good. BUT she was great! The staff there was absolutely focused on us leaving with a smile on our face and a great experience in our heart. They get an A+ for service. She provided us a menu of specialty cocktails to choose from, provided recommendations on what to get (and how much), and took the guess work out of how to plan the beverage service for the night. The night of the event, she was prompt (even early), brought all the necessary barware (and a table), and set up a fantastic display. She was on top of drinks all night, and she and her helper even helped serve some of the food! Overall, great experience - will definitely work with Maureen again, and have already recommended her to friends!
