Update: After posting this review about our experience, the company began threatening us over it. Rather than addressing the serious safety concerns we raised, they chose to threaten us for sharing our honest experience. This review reflects our personal observations and what occurred on the property The company was hired approximately three months ago. In our experience, they left the property in dangerous conditions, left trash and beer cans on the property, failed to complete the job, and someone was reportedly sent to the emergency room following the conditions left behind. They also removed the carport lighting and did not reinstall it. During a storm, the area was dark and wet, and the mother of my disabled child fell because there was no lighting in the carport. We also observed what we believed to be hazardous materials being disposed of in our dumpsters. read more

Our Board of Directors made a sound and sensible decision when Alan's House Painting was hired to paint our Cooperative apartment complex. The workers constantly impressed. Their interactions with the residents and Office staff was always polite and friendly, answering any questions posed to them. Their work ethic was top-notch and their attention to detail showed competency and professionalize. The care given our cars and outside furniture was noteworthy, as they made sure our items were fully protected. The most remarkable daily occurrence was the quick set-up and breakdown of their equipment. The one-star rating is excessively generous; this company provided the most unsatisfactory service I have ever encountered. During my thirteen years of residency, the complex has undergone several painting projects without incident; however, this recent project demonstrated significant deficiencies. I have never experienced such a high volume of concerning issues. The painting project has remained incomplete for months, and the absence of building and parking space numbers is unacceptable. Not only were the numbers removed from the parking covers, but also the lights. Four nights after the lights were removed, I fell in a puddle of water I could not see due to the lack of lighting after returning from the grocery store at 6 PM. Hazardous materials were left unattended and improperly discarded. Hazardous materials, such as razor blades, were left on the ground. Light bulbs, paint chips, pieces of torn wall, and tape were also left behind. If you find this acceptable by all means this is the company for you. I've seen other comment from our apartment complex trying to say that this was a decent job but they're only doing that because they're being threatened by owners. I had a poor experience with Alan's House Painting. After committing to a time sensitive job, they became unreachable. My Realtor set up the appointment for the first part of the job. Afterwards, I could not reach Alan's House Painting to ask questions. They showed up on time, but the painters left without finishing the job. I was specifically charged extra for parts of the job that were not done. After I spent weeks calling and leaving messages that were not returned, I got my Realtor involved. Surprise, they finally called me back to finish the job. When someone finally came back, it felt like a rushed job. They did not remove the door before painting it. They missed spots in the interior which I found not long after they left. The painters ended up storing a ton of bulky painting equipment on the grass of my backyard lawn and left without telling me when the equipment would be picked up, which ended up being several days later. I did receieve good advice on the color of the house during the initial consultation. The parts that were done right look good. However I do not consider the paint job complete. I will have to hire a second painter, even after making it clear I was willing to pay to have the entire house painted. read more

This company did a great job for us. Brian was great at squeezing us into the schedule during the really busy season and they did a fantastic job painting our trellis in the back yard. I am beyond thrilled with Alan's House Painting! Our home was long overdue for an exterior upgrade, that being said, it's a HUGE commitment and therefore can be nerve racking! Brian and his staff were efficient, friendly, on time, polite, clean and professional. In May/June 2019 I had Alan's paint the exterior front of my home, two large pergolas and trellises, as well as various doors and trims. The quality of work and attention to detail were impressive. In particular: * Brian worked with me to find a paint color that worked well with an unusual color of brick I had to keep. He brought multiple samples and then worked to find the perfect tint of the color we selected.
