You are treated as an asset in a team-oriented environment because YSC truly believes that by collaboration, more can get accomplished. They take staff as well as Youth's opinion and ideas to heart and it's simply only a reflection of their "for youth by youth" mission. YSC's initiatives towards social justice are unique. They're determined to put the Pacoima community and most importantly, its Youth on the map! Their services are comprehensive and available to any and all youth who seek to be proactive. YSC is essentially a haven where Youth can let go of inhibitions and use them as something positive and powerful. YSC's innovative approach sets them apart from any other organization. This is an organization I will continuously support even from the East Coast. I hold my former youth participants close to my heart.

Can't wait to see what this artist and the others will do next. I also volunteered at their four-acre community garden last summer along with more than a hundred other people. It's really a Secret Garden nestled in a pretty park in Pacoima. I couldn't believe there were loads of plots where neighbors were growing vegetables...some of the prettiest tomatoes I've seen. I'd like to see more of these throughout the Valley. Great kids, great administration and love the fact that it's run by the youth for the youth. Can't wait until there's a Youth Speak Collective at every high school in the Valley. BRAVO!

As a bar prep service, Legally Fit is as intuitive and hands-on as it gets. DeAndre not only…read moreunderstands the mental, physical, and emotional hurdles involved in taking and passing the bar exam, but he also genuinely cares about his students in their success and their experience. As a student who struggled with essay writing throughout law school, I was convinced I would never write passing bar essays. The Legally Fit essay writing method not only showed me how to write passing essays but was instrumental in my passing both the California bar exam and the UBE bar exam on my first attempt. The personalization of Legally Fit is something with which other bar prep programs cannot compete. I cannot praise Legally Fit and DeAndre enough and would highly recommend this program, especially for those who, like me, struggle with essay writing.

DeAndre is fantastic at breaking down complex topics. He makes sure that students understand the topic on a deeper level to assist with analysis. He is also cognizant to teach how to set up an exam to get extra points. DeAndre is also incredibly flexible with tutoring hours and will go above and beyond to accommodate you, your schedule, location and price. He has been so generous and genuinely wants to see each student thrive. I had such a great experience with Legally Fit as a student that I now have the pleasure of tutoring for Legally Fit! I love working with students, seeing their progression of understanding the material. My goal is for students to understand the material for more then just the exam. I want them to be able to see this topic again during bar prep and have no troubles. If you're having a tough time adjusting to what law school requires of you or simply want to do better, Legally Fit is the place for you!

I've had experiences with this tutoring center since its inception nearly eight years ago, and…read morecompletely believe in its program. For those of you looking for a place that will help your kids out with school, this is one of the best and most unique places out there. Unlike Kumon and Sylvan, Homework Bound focuses on the homework the children bring home rather than bombarding them with additional work and exercises. The teachers help the students understand their homework first and reach the root of the problem that way. Thus, those who need some extra focus can get that and those who need additional guidance can receive that as well. The program focuses on organization and time-keeping skills that will help the children with their homework and can also be applied elsewhere even after they leave the center. The teachers are great, caring, funny, and also focusead. They are chosen very carefully and put a lot of heart into what they are doing. Mr. Vesagas, the director, is also a very caring man who devotes so much of his time to his program and the children. He is extremely passionate about helping each child individually and always makes sure that they stay on track in terms of finishing their work. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some extra tutoring for your child. While this isn't a "day-care," it is a great alternative to it. Bring your child home in the evening with their homework finished and enjoy some very much needed family time. :)

After reading the other negative reviews, I'm in agreement with those who had a terrible…read moreexperience. I went to Dov for an exam I haven't received results for yet. The exam was fine, though I don't think it's a Covid-safe environment (if you're worried - the computers are all in a tiny room, and only separated by cardboard. While we were distanced at 6 feet and masked, it's hard to believe that it's safe for that length of time). The check in was awful. We were all sent emails to arrive 45 minutes in advance (12:45), or we would be locked out. Myself and 2 others arrived 55 minutes in advance (in LA, being 10 minutes early isn't strange). One of the others with me had taken the exam prior, and was retaking it. She had driven down from Sacramento to be there. She said she had seen someone scolded at the prior exam in New York for coming too late, so she wanted to adhere to the emailed instructions. We went into the lobby of the building (a tight area that could barely fit the 3 of us, certainly not at 6 feet of distance), and saw the door was closed. Inside, two women were eating lunch, with their backs to us. We knocked, as the door said "Knock as a test is in progress" on multiple signs. They didn't acknowledge us or turn around in any way, so we assumed they hadn't heard. We knocked again. Again - no acknowledgement - not a wave or even a glance. We knocked a third time, slightly louder. One of the woman stormed over to us and yelled, inches from us, that it was their lunch break, and to get out and come back at 1 PM (15 minutes after we were told we would be locked out). She had no mask or face protection on while yelling. The other proctor was coughing repeatedly during the beginning of the exam, so it's safe to say, if we get COVID, it will be from her (I've been social distancing since March and haven't seen another person, as I work from home). Meanwhile, one of the other attendants with me was in tears - she came from an abusive home background, and being yelled at triggered emotional trauma for her. And then she had to go in and take a test! I can't imagine she'll do well, and feel bad for her going through that. I haven't been yelled at in that way, since, well, probably sometime when I was 5? I have no problem with authority figures or following basic instructions at all, but politeness is pretty easy to manage, especially in these tough times - and we were literally following *written instructions* at every step. All three of us. I'm genuinely appalled at the behavior of the proctor at this facility, and I can't believe they allow this behavior to continue. I assume this is the person mentioned in the other reviews. I hope this place gets shut down. It doesn't deserve to remain open, if this is the service they are providing (and, yes, I will report this elsewhere).

I'm good with that. It's very quiet and she enforces the rules. I knocked on the door, she opened up, and briefed me on the process. She took my belongings and safely stored it in a locked file cabinet without touching any of it. I took my exam, She printed my results, Got my stuff and I left. STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. FACILITY - I dropped a star because this place is unorganized and filthy. The floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in months and someone was potting house plants inside. I was a little grossed out to touch the computers because of that. The place isn't massive enough that you can't vacuum daily. There is no excuse for that level of dirtiness especially if you're open and trying to compile with CDC protocols. I also dropped another star because the lady wasn't wearing a face mask. She wore a face shield but nothing covering her mouth. Not cool. Wearing a face shield does not replace having to wear a mask.
