The goal is to try every item on their menu. It's Mediterranean (Turkish) cuisine folks, which I call "guilt free, healthy eats". What to try you may ask. If you are striving for that "Olive Garden Salad + Bread combo"... let me suggest Kofta's version which is the Coban Salad and Puffy Bread. They're not offered as an all you can eat combo, but it should keep you filled between the two. - Coban Salad (5/5): A must try, soooo delicious. Fresh ingredients. The dressing, I could drink them in shot glasses. - Puffy Bread (5/5): It's made to order. Comes out nice and hot and puffy. Plenty to share with others. - From the Grill menu. Kofta Plate, Chicken Shish, Adana Plate are all good choices (5/5) - Sandwiches/Wraps: Their Doner Wrap was just okay to me (4/5) Service (5/5): no complaints here Pricing (5/5): Best value when you eat during Lunch. But Dinner items are not too pricey. Lastly, Buffets are also offered...on Sundays I believe. I haven't tried it yet but it definitely gives me a great reason to come back to Kofta.

Inside, the waitress (who I believe is the wife of the owner of the restaurant?) kindly greeted us and seated us immediately. The menu was extensive, plus they sometimes have off menu specials like fish. We ordered the adana lamb and adana chicken, as well as the mixed appetizer plate and calamari. It was way too much food for two of us, but it was all delicious. The meat was a little bit salty, but it was balanced out by the rice and other vegetables on the plate. The mixed appetizers were delicious. I don't think I would order the calamari again. Overall, great Turkish cuisine, owned by Turkish couple who moved to the United States a few years ago.

Reservation on Opentable made it easy and just walked in, checked in a sat a table. We were only going to the dinner service, but they do offer a lounge type atmosphere after 11 on the weekends. There is a dress code and to be honest, it just makes the vibe of the restaurant. This is the spot to go to, when you want to dress up and have a nice dinner. Our server Simir made our dining experience even better. He was knowledgeable, friendly and on time. This place is truly a hidden gem on Baymeadows. Jacksonville really needed this, and hope others will follow suite. Our food was amazing and worth the price we paid. This truly is a spot you want to go to when you want to feel extra special.

We got Bread - the inside was super soft and warm, and it had a decent crust so it was really good dipped in the oil and balsamic. But idk if I would necessarily get it again. They kind of made it seem like it would be complimentary and it wasn't. And you can get plenty full without it, so while it was pretty cheap, it wasn't necessarily worth it for us Tuna tartare - really good! The tuna tasted really fresh, and the chips were so light and crispy without feeling too oily. And I was a big fan of the mango coulis. Grilled Mediterranean octopus - I've never had such soft and tender octopus before! So so flavorful too. However because it was so soft, I thought it was kind of weird that everything that came with it was also like sauces and foams. I wish there was some kind of texture within the dish. Pan seared snapper - This one kind of confused us because the menu said it came with orzo but they brought it out with like pasta noodles. And we were kind of :// because we ended up with two similar creamy pasta dishes. But we just ate it anyways and it was really good! Just would have been nice if they told us beforehand, we probably would have chosen something else instead. But ya super creamy and the artichoke and tomatoes gave it a nice brightness. The snapper was kind of tough but I also know snapper isn't the most tender fish. Black truffle bucatini - so good, the pasta was al dente and the truffle flavor was super strong Molten dulce de leche - the perfect amount of sweetness. It was so gooey and warm and paired so well with the vanilla ice cream.

This hidden gem offers an intimate indoor dining room along with a charming outdoor patio. I highly recommend making a reservation, as seating is limited. Othello is a tapas-style restaurant, and we loved ordering a variety of dishes to share around the table. It was the perfect way to experience different flavors, and every dish we tried was beautifully prepared, fresh, and packed with flavor. Even the less adventurous eaters in our group left impressed. Some of our favorites included the whipped feta (don't skip the bread for dipping!), the roasted half chicken, and the butterflied branzino, which was perfectly cooked with a delicious char and bright, fresh flavors. Every plate that came to the table looked as incredible as it tasted. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions about the menu. One thing to know before you go: the chef has a very specific vision for each dish and generally does not allow substitutions or modifications. For example, one person in our group wanted the aioli removed from the tuna, but the dish was only served as designed. It's something to keep in mind if you have picky eaters or dietary preferences. We were so full after sharing so many plates that we had to pass on dessert, but that's just another reason to come back. Othello delivers a memorable dining experience with creative flavors, excellent service, and a fun, shareable menu. We'll definitely be returning.

We arrived early thinking we could sit at the bar but unfortunately seats at the bar are also reserved so best to avoid coming early for your reservation since there is no room to hang out inside. Luckily you could order drinks and they'd bring them out front to you! Once seated you can take in the beauty of the restaurant itself. Serene indoor area and a lovely outside courtyard as well. It's absolutely beautiful outside too. Nestled in a residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking.

I came in as a solo diner and was seated quickly, although my table was kind of nestled underneath the high outdoor bar. That meant hearing some of the bartender's phone conversations. I ordered a glass of Lebanese rose wine and liked it! But my meal wasn't impressive. The vegetarian grape leaves (one of my favorite dishes, generally) were OK, although several were split up on my plate (but hey, it happens). I thought the flavor was underwhelming; there was a lot of acidity but nothing else. I also ordered a side of "extra crispy seasoned potato fries" which just turned out to be generic crinkle fries with salt. Definitely wouldn't order those again. I thought maybe there would be some sort of twist on them? The big frustration was service. The restaurant was far from full when I went -- I counted maybe a dozen seated tables. After I finished eating, I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my waiter's attention to get my check even as I sat with my plates pushed away, glasses empty, and credit card out. He walked by multiple times to wait on and check with other tables, and I saw at least five other employees working in the front of house and walking by me. Even when I got his attention for the check, it took quite a few minutes to get it, despite him walking out to other tables. (Although I will note he seemed busier than the other employees!) My check before tip came to $24, which felt on the pricey side for what I got. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that I wasn't exactly their favorite type of guest -- a solo diner who wasn't smoking hookah. (I noticed another solo non-smoker go similarly unnoticed by staff.) Maybe they heavily favor regulars, too. But they weren't at capacity, and I'd have gotten out quicker had I been able to pay. Maybe it was just an off night. But it's just not a great feeling to be ignored.

My chicken shawarma wrap was filled with chicken and so well seasoned. I have half left for another meal. The fries were crinkle cut but cooked crispy with a seasoning, really liked them. The place had seating options inside and outside too.

Food -- 3/5 Stars…read more First, let me say that based on the appetizers, I genuinely thought I was about to give the food five stars. My friend ordered the Casbah House Fries, and they were SO good. I ordered the Zaytoon, which is essentially marinated olives, and those were really good too. At that point, I'm thinking, okay Casbah, y'all might be onto something. Unfortunately, the entrée didn't quite keep that same momentum for me. I ordered the Half Rack Lamb Chops, and I felt like my lamb was overcooked. I ended up ordering a side of tzatziki, which definitely helped, but I don't necessarily want to need a sauce to make a $38 entrée more enjoyable. I'd absolutely order the appetizers again, but next time I'd probably try a different entrée--or honestly, just make a meal out of appetizers. Ambiance -- 5/5 Stars Now THIS is where Casbah shines. The place is definitely a vibe. Inside feels a little more intimate, while outside has a completely different energy with the music playing, hookah flowing, and people just enjoying themselves. I also liked the TVs around the bar. It's a small touch, but it makes the space work for sports fans who want to catch a game without necessarily going to a traditional sports bar. I'd return for the atmosphere alone. Service -- 2/5 Stars I'm honestly wondering if they may have been understaffed during our visit. Our server was nice, so my rating isn't about her attitude at all. She just seemed overwhelmed, and unfortunately, that showed in the amount of time it took for her to check back in with us or return with things we'd requested. There were several moments where we were simply waiting much longer than expected. She was pleasant when we interacted with her, but the service itself could definitely have been more attentive. Drinks -- 3/5 Stars The drinks were okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing made me stop and say, Ohhhh, you HAVE to try this. I wouldn't specifically return to Casbah because I'm craving one of their cocktails, but if I'm already there enjoying the atmosphere and hookah, I'd have another drink. Overall -- 4/5 Stars Overall, I'm giving Casbah four stars because despite a few misses, it's still somewhere I'd return. Personally, I think Casbah works better as a "meet your friends, order a bunch of appetizers, get some hookah, have a couple drinks, and enjoy the vibe" kind of place than a traditional date-night dinner spot. And honestly? That's perfectly fine. Every restaurant doesn't have to be everything. Give me those Casbah House Fries, some Zaytoon, good music, a couple drinks, and a table outside with friends, and I could absolutely see myself having a good time here again. What I Ordered: Zaytoon -- $5.00 Half Rack Lamb Chops -- $38.00 Side of Tzatziki -- $2.00 Summer Rose Cocktail -- $15.00 Blueberry Mojito -- $14.00 Service Fee: $8.15 "A small service fee is applied to all transactions to help cover operational cost." Total: $82.15

After a short wait, my food was delivered, and I noticed a small container of red sauce included with the meal. I wasn't sure what it was at first, so I tried it with my fries. I originally thought it was curry, but it had more of a thin, runny consistency with a spicy kick. It worked okay with the fries, but I chose not to put it on the gyro. Unfortunately, the fries were the biggest disappointment. They were extremely salty and mostly made up of the small broken pieces you usually find at the bottom of the bag. The gyro itself was good, especially after adding some white sauce my friend received with her order. We ordered the exact same meal, so I was surprised that she received three sauces while I only received one. Overall, my first experience with 904 Saffron was lacking.
