Once outside it became a free for all with a lot of shouting and yelling to offer transportation. Thank goodness I pre-arranged mine. Exiting the country went smoothly as well. TSA did a passport scan and ticket validation then through the line. Only large electronics had to be taken out, liquids could stay in bags. Seamless process and I liked they had about 10 different lanes open so there were minimal lines. Back through another duty free shop before entering the terminal. I found it interesting gates were not pre-assigned soooo like Penn Station, a group of people would move together once departure gates were announced. The terminal was pretty small and walking around was easy. Lots of food options and as that most were American restaurant. And no book store just one small section at a store. Lots of snacks, and small souvenir shops. Probably one of the only airports I've been to with ample seating.

We made it unscathed, as did our luggage. All of our stuff came through the airport completely intact. The flight we flew was on time. The crew we flew with was from Atlanta, and they were pleased to throw some espanol in the conversations. They were efficient, pleasant, and made sure everything went off without a hitch. I love the snacks. On board, there was free entertainment. In fact, I got an extra 24 hours of Paramount + subscription, even once I left the airplane. Our luggage took an incredible amount of time to come off the baggage claim carousel, but I don't think that's Delta's fault.

The flights down were absolutely amazing. Attendants were friendly and always around. The attendants on this flight acted like they had the worst job in the world and would rather be anywhere else. My husband and I upgraded to business class and I could hear the attendants having a personal conversation while guests were boarding - the entire time. The attendants never brought water or the typical check in that happens when you travel business class. The attendant responsible for our section was very snotty. When dinner service was served she was throwing the food trays down and was not at all polite. I am one to sit back and watch in unfold but this was the first delta flight in awhile I've been on that has had such horrible service.

You need to check the screen or your phone for updates/change. Your flight will appear on the screen within one hour from boarding. So this makes the airport pretty quiet compared to the USA airports. Bathroom was clean and had somebody attending the bathroom. The gates are good size and chairs are comfortable! The first thing you notice is how long the walk is after getting off the plane. The hallway seems to go on forever, so hopefully you do not need a restroom right away because it is a trek. The biggest downside is what happens after customs. The second you walk through, it turns into nonstop sales pitches. First, you go through duty free where it feels like every few feet someone is trying to stop you to buy something. Then after clearing customs and declarations, you walk into another area packed with people trying to sell tours, hotels, transportation, and excursions. Finally, once you make it outside, you are greeted by what feels like a thousand taxi and transportation companies all trying to get your attention. There are lots of Mexican souvenir shops, but also with crazy prices. Tshirts were in the $32-$42 range. Even fridge magnets are $7+. There is ALWAYS a line for restrooms. Cleanliness varies by location. Mera Business Lounge sucks. Always a line - unless you are paying. If you are using your credit card perk for entry, they won't have a place for you. Paying $35? Go right in! Pretty much everything here closes between 7-8pm. If your flight is delayed or later than 8pm, there is no place to get food or drinks. Plan accordingly.

My reservation L50305859C7, was booked to be picked up on April 2. While I was on my flight to the destination, our plane had to make an emergency landing which caused us to miss our connecting flight outside of my control. I called hertz corporate number and informed them of the situation and they informed me that they would notate it on my account so that my reservation would remain the same and I would just pick up at the airport 1 day late. When I arrived in Cancun on the morning of April 3rd, I explained the above information to the receptionist. They called the manager who said they would resolve it and just said to get on the shuttle and come to the hertz office. When I got there, I explained the above-mentioned details to the clerk who stated my reservation was in the process of cancelling and I could only start a new reservation: at 7 times the original booked rate. I asked to speak to a manager; a taller gentleman in his early 40s. He became immediately dismissive and said there was nothing he could do for me and began acting extremely rude and unprofessional. He then became rude and dismissive to my pregnant wife who was standing there with my 6 and 8 year old children. When I called him out on that he immediately became PHYSICALLY defensive and walked around the counter getting in my face in a manner as if he wanted to FIGHT me. All of this was in front of my pregnant wife who was sobbing and my children who were also crying at this point. He then had to be PHYSICALLY RESTRAINED by his co-workers. When I asked for his name he covered his badge and refused to show me. He was a larger Hispanic male with short hair in his 40s. My wife and children and I then left on foot to walk to find a different rental car company. I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this "MANAGER". As a professional who works in law enforcement, I was appalled by his behavior. Stay away from this company.

I expected to pay more as I was going to get the additional insurance most people recommend for Mexico. Upon arrival we were greeted at the counter and walked to the shuttle bus by a very nice lady who gave us travel recommendations. When we got to the rental agency, that's when the good old bait and switch happened. We speak Spanish and the guy we had ran through his sales pitch so quickly our heads were spinning. I told him I'd get the insurance and a $9 car rental suddenly became $183. As most people stated, our gas tank was not full when we received it. The moment we drove off the lot it dropped a bar. But don't try to return it that way, they will charge you. Other than the feeling of being taken advantage of, the overall service was good, but I won't be using Orbitz or Budget after this sour experience. It shouldn't matter if Budget is in Manilla or Mexico. The same standard and ethics of service should apply to all their locations.
