I wasn't supposed to be on Alaska Airlines, but since we missed our flight out of Atlanta and had to be re-routed, we ended up getting to take a hop flight from PDX to Eugene. The Alaska Airlines folks were pretty awesome, though our flight had been set up through Delta, apparently it'd not gotten all the way to the Alaska Airline's desk, so I had to speak with the desk agent while they worked it out, I'm glad I did, they were very friendly, efficient and got the job done without any problem. Mom, using a cane, was one of the first to board the prop plane (First time in ages, that I got to fly one of those!) and she was treated with great care when we got off too, even though, somewhere along the line our luggage got lost. read more

Alaska Airlines on their app asks if you are unwell prior to boarding prior to checking in. My son had a flight with a saver fare. In the past we had the same situation with United. United credited their super economy fare in the light of COVID safety in cabin. Alaska air would not credit the fare, so if you are flying with Alaska and you are thinking about doing the right thing and not flying if you feel unwell. Just know if you have a saver fare... YOU WILL NOT BE CREDITED! What an incentive to lie and get on that plane. read more

After having flown all over the world, for the last 30 years, I feel very comfortable in recommending Alaska for air travel! Sadly, they too have decided squeezing people into cramped rows, with way too little legroom is the way to provide customer service. (Suggest paying the extra amount for the Priority seats...small charge for extra legroom, early boarding, and free drinks.) That said, their service has always been pleasant and helpful! Even in times of stress, they have been helpful. Recently, I had a Portland to LA trip get canceled by them, and they were quick and considerate in making needed adjustments to my itinerary. Pricing is often the most inexpensive on many routes! They routinely beat the cattle-car effect of Southwest, and Alaska service far exceeds that of Southwest! I do feel Alaska makes a good effort at keeping folks happy. They use both Boeing and Airbus planes in their "larger jet" fleet. Sadly, it appears that they are leaning more to the exclusive use of Boeing planes in the future. (Yes, they are American built planes, but Boeing is just not as comfortable space wise, when compared to the Airbus planes.) This airline used to be the ticket but not anymore! I have flown it three (3), times in the last year and have had three (3), cancelled flights on each of those three (3), trips. My wife and I both have Alaska Airlines Mileage Cards and with this latest cancelled flight see no good reason in having them. Three out of three is not good so goodbye Alaska! read more

Alaska AirlInes sucks! My daughter was at Eugene OR airport 45 minutes before departure. Check-in kiosks were down, and there was NOBODY around to help her. She had her confirmation letter and code, but no f'ing barcode, so she couldn't get past TSA, and missed the flight. Will Alaska pay $165 for her hotel tonight? Not likely. Called to complain, and of course it's all her fault because she didn't show up 2 hours prior to departure. SHE HAD AN EMERGENCY AND HAD TO GET OUT OF TOWN ON SHORT NOTICE, BUT DO THEY CARE? NOT THE HAUGHTY BITCH WE COMPLAINED TO. Airlines are crying poor and want a bailout ... I hope they don't get it, and lay everybody off. Shame on you all. After receiving a delay in Seattle to get to Eugene, the smaller plane they put me on apparently offers complimentary beer and wine! Smooth ride and pilot definitely knew what they were doing. Overall easy boarding and off boarding process... if you catch yourself in the smaller plane, don't hesitate to get your complimentary aperitifs! read more

Really? I could understand one incident or possibly two, but three on the same trip?! I've never experienced such poor service ever. Not only was my departing flight delayed due to mechanical issues but so was my return flight! In the first instance, that meant me spending several hours in an airport because I missed my connecting flight. (My rebooked connection was delayed too as a matter of fact.) In the final instance, I again ended up waisting additional hours in the airport, but this time it was due not only to a mechanical problem but also to poor customer service and beaurocratic nonsense. Faced with a delay and the need to rebook several passengers, the smart people at the Eugene Airport Alaska terminal thought it would be a good time to train someone. As such it ended up taking about 20 min for them to rebook only 2 people ahead of me! It then took another 10 minutes for them to service me! If it weren't for this delay, I could have been rebooked on a United flight that was leaving shortly, but instead, the slow speed of the trainee caused me to just miss the cutoff to get on that flight. To add insult to injury, when I got to the United counter, which was still waiting for an additional passenger to board, I was told (1) that it would be $70 for them to move me to the aforementioned flight and (2) that there wasn't enough time to make the switch. You can try to extort money from me or not, but at least make up your mind. How long does it take to issue a ticket anyway?! Ugh! I think Spirit finally has some company on the list of airlines that I'll be avoiding at all costs. read more

We've been flying Alaska Airlines for about 7 years now. I have never had a problem until this last trip to Hawaii. Both of our suitcases were damages beyond repair. Alaska gave us new ones on the spot and apologized like crazy. On at the way home I ordered two of the fruit and cheese platters that my wife and I both like a lot. The attendant misunderstood me and gave me only one and only charged me for one. I waited until she finished helping the person across the aisle and then pointed it out to her. She apologized and then said she was sorry but she had just given the last one to the person across the aisle. She asked if anything else they had would be a good substitute and I told her the Northwest deli box would be OK. She handed it to me and said no charge for this because it was my mistake and she also gave my wife a free glass of wine. Customer service is always great for us on Alaska Air and it always has been. This is our favorite airline because of it. read more

On December 1, 2019 I brought my granddaughter to the Eugene Airport to catch her 7:40 am flight to Bozeman, MT. Her flight was delayed so a very helpful Alaska Airline Agent ( a nice young woman, I do not know her name) informed us that my granddaughter will likely miss her connector flight in Seattle and may have to stay at a motel there and wait for a flight. Of course I was very concerned about the situation. This agent contacted staff in Seattle and made special arrangements. When my granddaughter arrived at the airport in Seattle, there were 2 Alaska Airline agents waiting, holding up a sign with my granddaughter's name! They quickly took her directly to her connector flight & she arrived on time, safely in Bozeman. A HUGE THANK YOU to this WONDERFUL Agent! She must have seen the concern on my face and SHE WENT OVER & ABOVE to ensure my granddaughter's safe trip. She should be commended for the extra care she provided, she is an ANGEL as far as I'm concerned! We will continue to use Alaska & the Eugene Airport for all of our future flights. We got our baggage lost because they transferred us to United, which was a pain in itself, but we got to personally talk to the lady at the airport that would be unloading our bag and she said she would set it aside for us if we drive out and get it. Although it's inconvenient it's a lot better then United getting ahold of it with their poor customer service. Alaska employs great people that are all about the customer and I love that! This is the worse Airlines in the country. Avoid them at all cost. My original flight was scheduled for 3:31 out of Eugene OR. I get a text alert that the flight is delayed 1 hour and 15 minutes which I understand. I get to the airport at 3:45 which is an hour early than the reported delayed flight schedule. The second I step into the Eugene airport, which for those that don't know is a really small airport with no long lines and is easy to fly in and out of, I get a text alert at 3:47 that the flight's ETD is moved up to 3:50. A three minutes notice!! Obviously, I can't get a boarding pass because the people at the ticket counter also work the boarding area. So by the time they get to the counter, the flight is gone. I wasn't the only person this happened to; there were others. So I get upset at them and they start getting indignant with me, copping an attitude, saying there is nothing they can do. I immediately tell them don't go down that road with me; I wasn't the one that screwed up the flight. I have a connecting flight in Seattle to Orange County and I tell them that the OC airport closes down at 10:00pm, so I'm mad at the thought of having to fly into LAX because of their screw up. They refuse to help me get a new flight until I calm down. I told them to never mind how upset I am; just do your job in getting me to Seattle before my original next flight time. They both stopped what they were doing, treating me like some child until I calmed down. Now I'm so upset with these two Alaska airline agents that I say get me on the next damn flight to Seattle. They then say we are done with you for swearing and to leave the counter. They call a policewoman over who instructs me to move away from the counter and use the telephone to change the reservation because they won't help you. I then call Alaska reservations who books a new flight - not to OC but to LAX and it COSTS me an extra $250 for the change. The agent explains to me that on the back of their ticket (which who gets a ticket now a days) it states they can make changes to flights with little or no notice. "It's in our contract" is what she keeps saying. Now instead of getting to OC at the regular scheduled time of 9:38pm, I'm getting their at 2:15 am the next morning. We will never use this Airlines again. I'm cutting up their credit card and will tell everyone I know what a horrible Airlines Alaska Air is in causing problems where their employees are not skilled enough to handle them. read more

Though counter-intuitive, Alaska via PDX is the best way from Eugene to Southern California. The puddle-jumper heads north, but PDX is the most hassle free of the connection options. Better a little more time in the air than SFOs constant holds and hiccups. read more

I have been so impressed and appreciative with Alaska Airlines customer service and on-flight attendant's service. They are friendly, helpful and professional. Our flight 15 BOS-SEA was delayed and they worked hard to make up time and communicate status information regarding making connections. We just barely made our connecting flight to PDX to encounter more friendly flight attendants. Our bags never got past SEA due to ineptness by a Boston bag checker and Alaska has been so helpful tracking down our lost bags, flying them to Eugene and delivering them to our hotel at no extra fee and with such a helpful attitude!! For really tired travelers it was a breath of fresh air! Thank you. read more
