OMG, not cheap, but beyond worth it. Where to start. We booked this with PCL as an excursion while in Alaska. Tamara was our shuttle driver to & from the pier. Friendly, outgoing, w/ lots of knowledge of the area. She made the ride to & from the Yacht seem like it was shorter than it was. Jen (our captain) & Katie (naturalist) were wonderful. These ladies know how to make a trip enjoyable. Was almost like family outing. Although the whale spotting started off slow, it really picked up in the 2nd half. I had the best time, even though on this adventure I was the only Man. 2 Ladies, 1 Lady and her Daughter, and then my Wife and I. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat, and if I could request these two bonus points for sure. The boat has own restroom, drinks provided, and a couple charcuterie boards made for an enjoyable time on water. Highly recommend, and a hidden gem for sure. This was truly a highlight of our Alaska cruise experience. Katie picked us up at the port & got us safely to the dock for our small group tour. E couldn't have asked for a better crew in Taylor (our very skilled Captain) & Lisa (the jack of all trades-person; she got us drinks, helped us spot whales, told us how to recognize each individual fluke, kept us safe). I cannot thank Alaska Luxury Tours enough for the most incredible whale watching experience we could have ever imagined. We arrived in Juneau from a cruise ship and were picked up by an extremely kind and professional driver named Ann Marie, in a Mercedes "Land Yacht." She was knowledgeable and engaging throughout the quick drive to the marina and made a pit stop to show us a magnificent sculpture of a humpback whale. The transition from the Mercedes to the yacht was effortless. Our captain and naturalist were absolutely superb. We started seeing whale spouts as soon as we took off from the marina. Being amongst the whales was an experience we will never take for granted. My favorite moment was watching a mom with her calf lunge feeding, showing off their pectoral fins, and swimming closely amongst the surface. It seemed like she was showing her calf the ways of the water, and I am so grateful to have witnessed it. We saw many more playful humpbacks making their way along the water as well as several groups of seals. Inside of the yacht we had a vast selection of sodas, beers, wine, champagne, water, etc. ALT even set up a beautiful charcuterie board with a delicious local fish spread. ALT knew that it was my father-in-law's birthday trip and they absolutely personalized the experience for him. I cannot recommend booking an excursion with ALT enough, especially the private experience option!!! Being amongst my family, on a beautiful yacht, with extremely knowledgeable people who are passionate about their careers FAR surpasses being on a boat with 100 strangers, fighting to get a good view of the whales. Just book the excursion. You're already making it to Alaska, something most people do not have the opportunity of doing - make the trip the most memorable version it could be by going on this tour. Our family of four ( all adults) had such an amazing whale watching tour recently. I highly recommend for anyone that really wants a personalized, informative and comfortable excursion. From the moment they picked us up we learned all about the beautiful Juneau area and so much about the whales, eagles and other animals in the area. The food and drinks were also great!! My two friends and I had the pleasure of whale watching today with Alaska Luxury Tours, and there is nothing but positive things to say about our experience! We went on the early excursion at 7:15am and it was well worth getting up early as we did, as we were the first boat out on the water and it was like we had the entire body of water to ourselves, with the whales of course. Andy, our naturalist, was phenomenal at making the experience educational and informative while keeping it fun as well! We saw so many whales out today, as well as fun sea lions up close! This tour is well worth the price!! The yacht was so comfortable. I've been on whale watching tours before that had metal benches to sit on and had a ton of people crammed on it. There are only 8 people on the yacht. They provide snacks and any drinks you want including champagne and mimosas. We saw Dalls dolphins, seals, and a ton of whales. They were bubble feeding and coming up out of the water. It was an amazing thing to see. Because we were on a smaller boat we could get close and really see them. If you want to go whale watching pleases consider this tour! read more

A fantastic experience. Well worth the price. We were celebrating a 75th birthday and the staff went above and beyond. Champagne, birthday cake, and even a birthday gift. We were also dealing with some mobility issues and the staff made sure everyone one was safe and comfortable. We saw numerous whales, sea lions and other wild life. The driver even stopped at the glacier on our way back to the boat for photo ops. This excursion was Definitely the highlight of our trip! read more

Shannon and Jacob the great did a fantastic job and gave us an experience of a lifetime. We saw in total 11 whales with whales acting in different manners. We were even able to see a cub jump out of the water several times. Not only that they were extremely insights and knowledge about the whales and answered all the questions asked to them. We have taken similar tours in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico... no comparison. We weren't forced to Life Jacket up but could have. Instead we were invited aboard a beautiful 35-40 foot yacht with a two person crew, they were both attractive young adventurers working their summer in Alaska. Besides looking great the vessel was expansive inside with great facilaties, both inside and outside sitting for the 7 guests, and had room it the capacity of 9 was met. There was a head and galley. We were served a delicious charcuterie board and champagne, Other drinks were available including non alcohol. The bus provided was an oversided van, beautiful spacious and comfortable and did I mention the big windows (lots to see on the way). We made a quick stop to get pictures of one of the two glaciers we were able to see. The second was from the yacht. The vessel was great to cruise the bay and look for the best viewing spots. Beside seeing multiple whales we also saw numerous Bald Eagles and huge sea lions. The time spent on the yacht was long enough but not too long and the coordination with the Cruise Ship's schedule was timed for a very low stress meet up at the port and an appropriate return to ship. Worth the price and we were well provided. In addition I left a pair of binoculars and when it was reported from our home in Austin, they were safely returned to us. Jolly good job. read more

Great excursion. From the p/u at the dock to the drop off after the tour, a totally first class experience. Brent, our driver, was a fount of knowledge about Juneau and the whale watching in the area. Our captain, Steve, knew exactly where the whales were and our marine biologist, Janelle gave a steady commentary about the marine mammals we saw. We were lucky enough to see two different cow-calf pairs, other whales feeding, a pod of Dahl porpoise, harbor seals, a Stellar seal and a sea otter that Janelle said she hadn't seen in the Juneau area before.
