The tour guides are perhaps the biggest factor that is in control by the company. The wildlife viewing and glacier kayaking experience is also dependent on how lucky nature views you. This of course is not this fault of the company, but may impact experience. With that long statement out of the way, let's talk about what happened during my excursion. To start, they go over the typical safety protocols to mitigate chances of issues that would occur. Then you embark on a roughly two hour ride to the kayaking destination. From there, you kayak about 4 miles to the glacier. It's just beautiful to enjoy the Alaskan waterfalls and viewpoints before arriving at the glacier. But once there, you're hit with the majestic beauty of the glacier. Due to safety reasons, we paddle until about 1 mile from the glacier, but it's big enough to be seen from a good ways away. If you're lucky you can see some ice calving. Then you enjoy some lunch from a spot near the glacier before embarking home. Along the way there and way back. The group was also fortunate to see some amazing wildlife! From porpoises to orcas, to whales, it was just a stroke of good luck! If you're in Seward, heck even Alaska, it is definitely worth taking this kayaking tour!

I thought a simple deli sandwich, but no, these were packed with more meat than I've ever had on a deli sandwich. It was robust and delicious. Obviously, the views were the highlight. The calving of the glaciers, and iceberg and Mountain View's were incredible. So much wildlife out in June for our viewing. The whales were active and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The staff was friendly and the captain greeted everyone. They do forewarn about sea sickness, losing items like a hat and also safety to prevent falling overboard. Things they obviously have no control over is who will get seasick (they had Dramamine and ginger chews for purchase) , what the weather is like, and what sealife you may or may not see. Additionally they must stay a good distance away from from the animals for safety reasons. They do have a bar for alcoholic beverages, sandwiches that are part of the package (turkey, beef, vegetarian with option for gluten free bread), but you may wish to bring your own food and snacks. My best advice: - book the tour early - get in line early so you can get a seat outside the main cabin (good views and helps reduce some of the sea sickness) - bring or purchase some dramamine - bring sunglasses - bring binoculars to better view the sealife and glaciers - make sure you have warm clothing that you can easily secure given the high winds - know that no two people will have the same experience and that you may have good weather and animal sighting or you may not

Talked to neighboring ice climbing charter and they said they were running the trip all week and that weather was not a factor, so I know it couldn't have been that. By the time we were told we've been cancelled, it was too late to book anywhere else. Extremely frustrating as this was the highlight of our trip and very disappointed.

The sled dog ride was so much fun, the dogs were incredible, and getting to meet the adorable puppies afterward made the experience even better. Honestly, I am not sure who enjoyed it most, the kids or the adults. Everyone was genuinely welcoming and friendly, and the entire experience was informative, interesting, and entertaining from beginning to end. You can tell how much these dogs are loved and how excited they are to run. This was easily one of the highlights of our entire Alaska trip. It is a fantastic experience for the whole family and worth every penny. If you have the opportunity to do it, do not miss it.

Later that evening, one member of our group became ill. We contacted the company first thing the next morning--well before our scheduled tour--to explain the situation and ask if there were any options. We were told there would be no refund because the tour was sold out. However, tickets remained available for purchase at the office and online after we called, which made that explanation difficult to understand. We understand that businesses need cancellation policies, but we hoped there would be some flexibility for a genuine illness with advance notice. Even a partial refund or the opportunity to reschedule would have gone a long way. Based on our experience, we were disappointed with the company's customer service and unwillingness to work with us under the circumstances.

Flying with Pilot Joey was a customized experience, and as he flies much lower than the Denali flight, you actually see WAY more wildlife and scenery. We told him we hadn't really seen bears yet, and he was like, oh I know right where they are and flew us over them (one was swimming!). He was warm, friendly, and very thorough. We felt extremely safe with him and he was so knowledgeable about the area. He also played great music through our headphones that added to the experience. :) We booked the Holgate Glacier Landing tour and we enjoyed an hour and half + of INSANE scenery--waterfalls, fjords, seals floating on ice, bears, multiple glaciers, and finally, a landing on the Harding Ice Field. It felt like we were in a different planet--it was so peaceful and quiet. In fact, he is the only pilot that brings people to land on this part of the ice field, so it felt especially once in a lifetime experience. Joey didn't make us feel rushed or like he was counting the minutes of our tour--instead, we had a great time chatting with him and letting him take us on a personalized amazing tour of some of the most epic Alaskan scenery. We heard others also saying this is a better experience than Denali (you go up so high so quickly, with the bulk of the flight bringing you so far away from views). We had a flight booked for Denali, but it was cancelled and they recommended AA Seward Air Tours to us, and we're so happy they did (and now we're happy our Denali flight was cancelled!). It was very easy to find his office (5-10 mins outside Seward), plenty of parking, the sweetest office dog, and the friendliest office assistant who was genuinely so happy for us to have this experience. 10/10. Book it and GO!

This is Seward, Alaska!…read more Although it was mostly rainy for the 3 nights and 4 days I was here visiting back in the month of June, I did not let that deter me from getting out, seeing and doing the sights. Seward is home to amazing Kenai Fjords National Park. Here are 3 activities/tours I highly suggest partaking in while here in Seward.... 1. Explore the Exit Glacier area. Exit Glacier is a real accessible landmark to discover. It's located off Exit 3 of Seward Highway. After making the turn...drive 8 miles and you'll arrive at Exit Glacier. Now...you can walk to "The Toe" of Exit Glacier which I recommend and also, I believe it's imperative to hike the rugged, though strenuous 8-mile roundtrip path called the Harding Icefield Trail. You'll be afforded wonderful views of Exit Glacier and the snowcapped mountains of Kenai Fjords from high above! 2. Do an all-day boat cruise out on the waters of Kenai Fjords. I did an 8.5-hour excursion with Major Marine Tours. Along the journey I witnessed tons of sea life. I also got an up-close perspective of incredible Northwestern Fjord Glacier and Cataract Cove, with epic waterfalls sliding off cliff faced walls. These two spots along my boat tour were the star attractions and some of the most memorable stops along my entire Alaskan vacation! 3. Simply explore the terrific harbor coast town of Seward. Here Seward is located right on the banks and waters of Kenai Fjords. Just walking around and appreciating the overall setting with massive mountains surrounding my every sight was so beautiful to see. My only problem was once again...grrr, the unfortunate rain! :( Also...Seward is obviously a wonderful seafood destination. Don't forget to try some of the cozy/charming restaurants that are emblematic of the type of cuisine you can expect from a waterfront place such as this. Also, you can purchase souvenirs in the downtown area and capture memorable photos along the pedestrian walkway section. In total, Seward, Alaska and Kenai Fjords National Park are necessary Must-Do's when visiting glorious Alaska!

The sea life center is…read morepretty great, although a lot of that for me comes from the fact that my friend and I did the puffin encounter, which was awesome--we got to feed the seabirds for probably a good half hour, right in the enclosure. Anyway, the town itself doesn't have much, including food, and I wouldn't spend more than 2 days unless you p,an to hike--I hear there are some great hikes of varying lengths, including e marathon hike and an intertidal hike. The food situation seemed pretty dismal to me. You won't starve, but I wouldn't go back for the grub, and if I did go back I think I'd seriously consider bringing a cooler of pb&j for at least some meals. Anyway, this is the launching point for wildlife tours of the kenai fjords and its glaciers, as well as a 20-minute or so drive to Exit Glacier, to which you can hike up (about 1.5 miles from the parking lot). The hotels seemed exorbitantly priced to me, and. Wished I'd researched camping, as there's a nice site right by the water about 3 blocks off of main street. Main street is 4th ave. and the whole town is less than 2 miles long, I'd say, with bustling sections at either end, downtown and the harbor.
