The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with spectacular glaciers, incredible wildlife, and stunning coastal views everywhere we looked. Our captain was amazing! She did a fantastic job pointing out every scenic highlight and all the sea animals we encountered along the way. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip even more enjoyable. A special shout-out to the two young servers on board. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the cruise. When we reached the glacier, they even helped us take photos while we held pieces of glacier ice, creating memories we'll treasure forever. I would 100% recommend this cruise--as long as you don't get seasick. The water can get rough. Unfortunately, even though our daughter took Dramamine before boarding, she still became seasick and couldn't fully enjoy the experience. If you're prone to motion sickness, consider talking to your doctor about stronger prevention options before your trip. Overall, this cruise is an absolute must-do in Seward. Dress warmly, bring a good camera, and prepare for one of the most unforgettable experiences Alaska has to offer!

We did the longest tour they had - the eight hour Northwestern - it was great every minute. We got the perk pass which I would recommend if you care about where you sit - we were the third couple on the boat and got a great seat facing forward. You will have to share with other families as all the seating is group seating but everyone is outside almost the whole time so easy enough to share. Perk pass also includes unlimited soft drinks - since there are three heads on board you will feel free to hydrate. The wildlife and glacier part of the tour is amazing. We saw otters, Stellars porpoise, a Blue whale blowing a rainbow spout!, humpback whales, eagles, puffins, seals, sea lions, and a pod of 12 orcas. Not to mention some incredible islands, glaciers, and mountains. The captain and other staff were experienced and great narrators. I did have a prescription sea sickness patch and it was a bit rocky for about half an hour, but it didn't impact me thanks to the patch - only two or three people seemed really sick. Food was better than I would have thought - cinnamon rolls and yogurt for breakfast. A quinoa chicken southwestern burrito, and a cookie at the end. Also tried the glacierita - when else will you have a chance?? If you're considering this tour - just book now!

We decided we wanted to do a glacier and sightseeing tour, but all of the companies that showed up in our initial Google search were already booked. After a little more searching, we came across this company, and after reading the reviews, we decided to give them a try. The reviews were spot on. The whole experience was amazing. The glacier was absolutely beautiful, and seeing both humpback whales and orcas on the same trip was something we'll never forget. Leif shared great stories along the way, and both he and Emily were incredibly knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, and local history. They were also just genuinely friendly and made the entire trip fun and relaxed. This ended up being one of the highlights of our Alaska trip. Bill/Stan do a great job of exploring the fjord. Saw mountain goats, holgate glacier, sea otters, humpback whale, sea lions, Orcas. Great scenery. Nice Narratives. informative, but not non-stop babbling which we experiences on other excursions. It can be cool, so dress appropriately. They suggest a waterproof jacket and pants. Helpful to stop the wind, and in case it rains. There was no splash from the waters. The rain pants are not a necessity, however a waterproof/water resistant jacket is (unless the forecast shows no rain), but I doubt it. Overall very enjoyable, worth every penny. You won't be bored over the 9 hour span. Our cruise had 5 passengers so it was nice to talk with Bill/Stan and the other passengers. Highly recommended whether you are a cruiser, or just doing a land trip.

Captain Louis worked with us ahead of time to plan a trip that the whole family would love -- a stop at Thumb Cove, picnic on Fox Island, and an incredible view of whale bubble netting in the bay. The trip out to the bay was smooth and boat very clean and comfortable, with life jackets for the kids. We loved our picnic and scenic walk on Fox Island -- kids, dog, and all! Very easy and save to get on and off the boat with our kids and small dog. After our picnic, Captain Louis navigated us to the most remarkable bubble netting whale watch, which felt like National Geographic (see the video here!), and was a highlight of our trip. We will definitely be joining Alaskan Coastal Safari again next time we visit Alaska, maybe for a fishing trip and Bear Glacier!

This was one of the most special things I've seen in my life. If you are in Seward, you need to see Bear Glacier and very few operators go there. Bear Glacier completely blew our minds. I know decades from now, I will still think about that time my husband and I went to Bear Glacier. Captain Louis also took us to see various wildlife: birds of all kinds, a humpback whale, otters, seals, and sea lions. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the area. Captain Louis brought us to spots that the big tour companies don't go, which I really appreciated.

Several recommended Alaska Saltwater Lodge for its small boat tours. So I called to book. They don't always answer their phones so you have to leave a message or call back. I found the best time to call was after 5pm Alaska time. You meet the tour in front of a bakery across from the visitor center. There's a $10 all day parking lot there. Met the deckhand Joe who was really nice with a great sense of humor. Walked the 11 of us out to the boat where we met the captain Lindsey. A little safety instructions and off we went. Right in the harbor were a couple of bald eagles. Father out Lindsey spotted some humpback whales bubble feeding. It was a pod of about 20. We got up close - probably about 25 yards and what an amazing experience. Also saw seals, otters, puffins, sea lions and of course the glacier. The day was beautiful, mostly sunny, but what made the experience was Joe and Lindsey. We're out there 9 hours so had a chance to chat with both of them about living in Alaska, how she liked captaining the boat, etc. Really made the experience much more personal. When we got off we all agreed it was more like a day of boating with friends instead of a tour. Can't recommend Saltwater Lodge tours highly enough for their small group sizes, personalized service and great crew.

Staying at the Dairy Hill Lodging & taking an all-day tour during my time in Seward were wonderful…read morehighlights of my 2-week road trip to Alaska in late May/early June 2015. What a great little town & superb hosts! James & Kathleen made me feel right at home in their cozy, quiet, & comfortable B&B. The bed was comfy, the room was just the right size, & the curtains cancelled most of the constant sunlight shining in Alaska during the time of year in which I visited (this is very important, trust me). I found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality of my quarters, as well as my proximity to eateries & the dock. It was a quick walk from my B&B to the dock in order to meet up with everyone taking the Full-Day, Small-Group Whale-Watching, Wildlife, & Glacier Tour (the same people who have the Dairy Hill Lodging also head this tour). Once aboard, the cloud cover parted & we immediately starting seeing bald eagles & otters. We eventually also saw seals, two types of puffins, sea lions, & a large variety of beautiful birds. The calving glaciers sounded like thunder (you realize how small you are when they're close). Humpbacks & Orcas breached & played close to our boat several times, which was breathtaking. I was giddy when we discovered that two Dall's porpoises decided to have a little fun with us & glided alongside our boat, jumping & having a ball. It truly was an all-day adventure full of memorable moments & well worth the money/time. I cannot recommend the tour highly enough & thoroughly loved their Dairy Hill Lodging accommodations. I really hope I can return to Seward, & if I do, these guys will definitely be a part of my itinerary!
