It's no more than a mile from the 4th largest lake in Wisconsin, castle rock lake, and they have a nice bait shop that's open 7 days a week from 7a-7p. There are a few golf courses near by, snowmobile/ATV trails right across the street and even airsoft/paintballing 1/2 mile away! There are a lot of activities around the site as well volleyball, playset, horseshoes, custom made basketball hot shot and our favorite, sitting around a nice bonfire and seeing all the stars. If this place gets more visitors, they can put more into upkeep, so go check it out and help keep a great thing going. The horseback riding was incredible. We hit the trails up to three times a day. The horses are well-trained, and the wranglers are the kind of people who make you feel at ease instantly--patient, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. Our 14-year-old boys (and their friends) never once said they were bored, stayed off their phones and came back each night completely exhausted and full of stories. Days were packed with fresh air and adventure; nights were peaceful and relaxing. What truly makes this ranch special is the people. It's family-run, and by the end of our stay, we felt like part of the family ourselves. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy. Reedsburg was our last night so we preferred to stay somewhere nice. We were greeted warmly by our hosts Lorraine & Neil who let us park the bikes in their garage and let us know where we could get some food in town. After a nice dinner we went back to the clean and nice rooms and talked with our hosts about what we'd like for breakfast. I remember a great blueberry cobbler and some (homemade?) yogurt. Our hosts gave us some good insights on the road ahead and we rode on down through Baraboo, past Devils lake in into Madison. I'd definitely repeat the ride and particularly the stay here.

All the rooms (of which there are 4) are of good size, but only 2 have their own bathroom. The other 2 have to share, which isn't that much of a hassle in this kind of place, really. The breakfasts they serve are nothing short of spectacular and delicious without being froo-froo. Usually 4 courses, and all were excelent every meal. We always left the house nice and full! I also should mention that this place is pretty well located for quite a few tourist spots around the area, including the dells, house on the rock, taliesin, and a few others. Was able to get drinks and refills with not too much of a wait. Buffalo Wings were solid. The clubouse had a very good patio, was cool to relax out there after our round with a bourbon. Condo was nice and clean, few amenities, balconies that back up to the fairways. The replica holes were a fun challenge. There was a very nice lady who cleaned our clubs while my group finished the 18th hole. The not so good: For what you're paying for on this course, I expect a little more. Half of the ball washers were empty, none at all had towels. Water coolers on the course were entirely empty on a hot day. Greens were not very well kept, all kinds of chunks taken out of them. Beverage cart was few and far between. One of the guys who worked there had some pace-of-play comments to make to us, even though we were keeping up with and pushing the group in front of us. Overall, had a good time but at those rates, hope you make it a little more worth our while.
