There were lots of aspects of this transaction that I appreciated. After I requested the appointment, I was sent an email confirmation for the appointment time, along with an inspection agreement form that could be filled out electronically or printed and then faxed. I also received an email reminder of the upcoming inspection the day before the inspection. All of these touches gave me confidence that Alati's Inspection was a well-oiled operation and that things would go smoothly. Nick drove quite a distance outside the Phoenix valley to get to the property I wanted to have inspected in the rural town of Globe, Arizona. There were other Phoenix companies who were not willing to come out to Globe, but I felt it was important to get the property inspected by someone who wasn't likely to be connected to someone in town. He arrived on-time and did a thorough examination of the property. His request was to get the first 2 to 2.5 hours by himself so he could conduct the inspection, and then the real estate agent and I joined him for the last half hour. He actually ended up needing an additional 30 minutes to complete the inspection of the attic space, so the agent and I just stood around and chatted, but I didn't mind because I wanted Nick to do a thorough job and not feel rushed. Once he was ready, Nick started the walkthrough of the property with us, pointing out things that he noticed, and the severity of the issues, along with any recommendations he had for resolving the concerns (though his role is certainly not to actually fix any of the issues). I learned a number of things I never knew before about existing regulations and recommendations for installing safety glass, access panels for hydro-spa motors, sprinkler systems, and proper sizes for plumbing fixtures. There was one issue with a chandelier that I asked him about after the walkthrough, and he agreed that it could use attention, so he revised his report to include my concern as well. The same day after the inspection, I received an email with a link to pay for the job, and as soon as it was paid by credit card, I was granted access to the reports, which included a Summary Report, a Full Report, and a collection of photos from the inspection. I found the report to be very informative. There were a couple of typos and remarks that didn't make sense to me initially, and Nick revised them and provided access to updated reports with the corrections. The only thing he really couldn't do for me was supply recommendations for licensed contractors to do some of the required improvements for us, but this was in large part because we were quite a far distance from his home base. Overall, I feel that Nick provided excellent service and expertise to aid in my understanding of what I was getting into with this potential purchase, and I would use his services again in the future. read more

What an incredible investigator! This man has the knowledge and work ethic needed if you need someone in your corner looking out for you or buying your first house like me! (especially when obvious work needs to be done) Alatis report had disclosed in great detail anything out of place as well as pictures for each discovery. (Detailed down to missing outlets with a picture with him using the voltage tester on the wall where it should be if up to code, absolutely awesome!) I received the inspection, pest inspection, and report the same day! But that isn't the real reason I have to give 5 stars and this review! ITS HIS AWESOME INSITE AND DILIGENCE! His knowledge on a certain aspect of our home POTENTIALLY saved us from our loan falling through. In my case the issues, if found during appraisal, could cause my FHA loan to be denied. LIFE SAVER! Going through all the issues and Having probably seen my face become increasingly pale every scroll down, Alati talked over the "how to's" of the repairs, "pro tips", and even documentation that should be reviewed like permits or warranties. The icing on the cake was how he informed me of improvement opportunities that could turn these repair lemons into updated lemonade! Such as using the forgoten gas line (Alati found out gas is available at the house) and replacing the electric water heater(unusable) with a gas istant water heater for better efficiency and quality. As much money and time invested, potentiality, in your perfect home, its a present you WOULDN'T WANT to unwrap AFTER you get it. Just as close to shaking the box to hear whats inside, Is probably just as close to looking for yourself, or using anyone just meeting minimum home inspection requirements(laughable and unhelpful) Do your self a favor and let Mr. Alati make sure this prize is the one on your wishlist! read more

In choosing someone to do the inspection on the home we wanted to buy, I checked reviews very carefully. The person who I found with the best reviews was: Nick. The reviews were certainly accurate. Nick did a great job. I felt he was honest and very thorough and I will use his summary report religiously to make repairs and monitor various situations as he recommended. Nick took lots of pictures and gave a very thorough report. He also explained why he included various comments based on his knowledge of the industry and history of the area in which we wanted to buy. I know that it isn't customary for inspectors to take measurements, but this is certainly something that would be very useful. As a buyer, there is limited opportunity to go into a home so much of what we rely on for information is that provided by the inspector. Would you maybe consider including measurements and even photos of the various rooms, Nick? It would sure help with knowing where to place furniture and in my case, knowing what furniture I need to buy. Nick Alati went out of his way in our journey to find a home. Nick took time away from his family to meet us last minute at a house in Mesa without his knowledge we would be in a situation similar to the movie The Money Pit. He did a walk through on another fixer upper with us and said, "You really know how to pick em'!" That was so funny when he said that as he walked through the house. The 203k loan we are utilizing comes with very complicated regulations, paperwork, and time constraints both for the contractors and the buyers. I've had Nick inspect my home three times now: once pre-drywall during the build, once for a final build inspection, and again after one year of living in it. He's priced competitively and always on time. They're great about answering calls and emails too. Nick is very knowledgeable about all the house related things he comes across, and provides great feedback about how to fix it, even at a DIY level if you're interested in saving some money. The report he generates at the end is very detailed, and he sends it to you as soon as he's done, no waiting at all. Also he'll take some drone photos of your house and surrounding area which look really cool. After my last inspection, I found one other concern the next day and emailed him about it. Fantastic Job!!! Going through the process of building a new home was a lot of work all in itself, but we were so lucky to be referred to Alati's Inspection Service for our inspection needs. From day one of our build Nick was there to make sure it went as smoothly as it could. He found so many things that we would of never found once the house was fully built. We had to have drain pipes moved from our air conditioner and duct work corrected 3 times because it was installed wrong. Nick inspected my new home while it is still under warranty. Starting with my initial call, I had a favorable impression because a live person answers the call, addresses questions, and schedules the inspection. This begins the electronic communication that keeps everything on track before, during, and after the inspection. Nick arrived early to the inspection and started right away. He follows an exact plan starting with the exterior. He limits the conversation to what is necessary to do the best and most timely job and yet is very responsive to questions. The inspection report is available right after the conclusion of the inspection and is very detailed. If I hadn't had this inspection done, I never would have known about some really important issues that need to be addressed. I used Alati's Inspection Service to inspect a home that I was purchasing. I was very impressed with Nick Alati and his business. He is extremely professional and helpful. I got an accepted offer on a home that I was looking at buying in North Scottsdale on Friday of Memorial day weekend. I wasn't able to reach an inspector until the following Tuesday. Being four days into the 10 day inspection window, I had trouble finding anyone who could commit to such short notice. I called around a dozen inspectors before I found Nick. He was able to squeeze me in the following Thursday. This was a large home so it took about five hours to inspect. Nick knew what to look for. He found problems with the duct work, HVACs, roof and more. This all added up to around $50,000 or more in needed repairs. I could have negotiated the price down but decided to back out. I am so pleased with the service I received from the start the Customer service was excellent when I called Nicole was very knowledgeable I told Nicole I though I had a mold problem explained what I saw as a laymen and she explained the difference between the two types of mold and how the test for it and how toxic this substance can be they got me in right away. The inspection was extensive they checked the site that was obvious but then the inspector/Owner Nick walked through step by step how mold migrates to places and through vents to contaminated things I never thought of. Nick was a thorough professional. I needed a home inspection scheduled and done quickly and I was fortunate to find Nick. He went as far as cancelling his appointment that he had scheduled for his car service to make himself available the very next day. Nick was great! My husband and I are moving to Scottsdale from CA. Needless to say, we don't really know anyone in Scottsdale. However, we used Yelp and found Nick. We are soooo glad we did! Nick came out on super short notice to help with our new build inspection. He was very thorough and provided a detailed report with photos to give to our builder. He uses thermal imaging and a drone to ensure we have peace of mind to know the things we can't see with the naked eye are accounted for. Additionally, our AC unit stopped working while he was testing it and since our appliances hadn't been installed yet, he asked to come back and complete his inspection after we take possession and those appliances are installed. We'd recomend Alati's Inspection and will be using him again prior to our warranty ending with the builder. read more

Nick did our home inspection a few weeks ago and we couldn't be happier with his work! We were only in town for a week and he managed to fit our inspection in before we had to leave. He did a very thorough job and even had a drone video the roof of our new home so we could see the whole roof at every angle.
