Albasha seemed to offer a lighthearted and fun atmosphere, with large glass windows, televisions, and soft background entertainment that make the space feel both casual and inviting. The music added an interesting touch to the overall dining experience. The service was fairly good--our waitress was polite and checked in periodically, though she did disappear for stretches of time, which us in a left a bit of a gap in attentiveness. But, when she returned, she was helpful and accommodating. The food was very enjoyable overall. One standout was the Lebanese tea, which, even without the pine nuts, had a great flavor and was a highlight of the meal. Most of the dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, though the chicken in the Shawarma plate was a little dry. Despite that, the generous portions and authentic flavors made the meal satisfying. Lastly, I believe this place delivers a welcoming ambience, friendly service with room for a little more consistency, and delicious food with a few small areas for improvement. I've been going to Albasha for a long time and I've been a creature of habit for most of that time until last week. I always get Chicken Schwarma plate or salad, and it's always good no matter the location. Last week I stepped outside my norm and got the Mujadarah rice and it was fantastic. However, I ordered it take out from the Highway 21 location. The caramelized onions were to die for. I looked up recipes to try it on my own and was pleased to see it was very low ingredients. So that said; I ordered the Mujadarah again at the Highway 190 location to go last night. I was so disappointed when it didn't come with any onions on top, it changed the whole flavor dynamic of the dish and I was pretty bummed. My wife and I lunched at Albasha on a Tuesday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Albasha features Mediterranean cuisine, Greek and Lebanese, at a nice location on Hwy 190 in Covington. Ambiance is casual, service is friendly and efficient, and the menu embraces all the regional favorites you might expect. Today we lunched exclusively on appetizers and enjoyed the signature Mediterranean humus and spinach pies. Meza for 3 + kibbi = $74 lots of food for 7 people (2 adults, 1 tween, 4 young children), but the price has increased about $10 in 2025. this location has the best Kibbi. they are stingy with extras, charging you for any wxtra sauces, dips, condiments. The mandeville express location has the best price but kibbi is not very good. read more

I've been here a lot and this location is always a good time. From having a glass of vino at the bar, to sitting down and letting this amazing staff take care of you, you won't go wrong here. Popped in on movie night for a bite to eat and let Matt talk me out of the lamb chops for the shank. I was skeptical; I find most people like to boil the shank and that just ain't cool. This, though...WOW. Do you remember the scene in The Family Man when Jack told Kate how much more beautiful she was now than in college? I believe he said, "...you were always beautiful, but this, this is..." That's how I felt about this shank. Wow, really wow. Tender, but not mushy, not over seasoned, but tons of flavor...and the tendon was perfect: like meat butter. I don't know what plans you have this week, but let me suggest they include the lamb shank at Albasha, it is a meat treat! Also on the table was the shawarma salad, which is fantastic, and baba ghanoush. Both excellent meal choices, of course, but treat yourself to the shank, it's worth the change. My cousin recommended Albasha to me. Great service-friendly and helpful, as we were not really familiar with Greek food. Greek beer and Lebanese wine were surprisingly good. I had the gyro & chicken schwarma plate and my wife had a beef kabob. Rice, salad, hummus and pita bread are included; neither of us could finish our dinners and we took some home. Flavorful but not overly spicy. The hummus was obviously homemade and delicious. Very casual strip mall location. Great murals on the walls, and TV's were tuned to our local NBA team that was playing live. $20 plates and $5 beer- great value for the amount of food. We'll be back. read more

I have a really good understanding of Lebanese food through my mother, I mean for us breakfast was zaatar on pita bread so that should give you so much idea. But this is the third time that I have gotten really really mediocre takeout from this place and I just don't think I'm gonna do it again. I want to like it, I want to love it, I want it to be great, but for Christ sake, man, can you go buy some spices please? The food here is so under spiced and so bland, I don't know if it's meant to be Americanized or just bad cooking. A lot of people like this place. And that's fine. I'm happy that they like it. My review is long overdue considering I've been eating at the Albasha Covington location for the last 15 years. The food is consistently delicious. Service is also great no matter how busy they are. My favorites: Gyro plate, chicken shawarma plate and salad, hummus, baklava and the chicken penne pasta is a wonderful surprise for unadventurous eaters! By the time I ordered and waited for food a lot of people started coming in which is a good sign Coming to food, ordered their Vegetarian Platter with a few options out of which we can pick 5 for some $12.95. I picked falafel, hummus, smoked eggplant (baba ghanoush), rice with lentils and a salad. The hummus comes with pita and the yogurt/sour cream sauce comes with the rice. Albasha is the best Mediterranean restaurant on the Northshore. I have been here numerous times, and every time was great. Their hummus is among the best I have had. My favorite entree is the combination chicken schwarma and gyro plate. It comes with even more hummus, a salad, rice and a good sized portion of chicken and gyro. The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender and tastes incredible. I'm not a fan of tea, but my dining companion loves their Lebanese tea. Service is adequate, but the food is where Albasha really shines. After recently moving from the Middle East I was happy to hear everyone's high praise of Albasha. I was disappointed some of Lebanon's "known for foods" were not on the menu. When asked if they could be made I was told no. The food that did come was okay, at best. The highlight definitely was the lamb. It was cooked perfectly and very tender, even the fat was delicious. My son liked his kofta. The rice was bland, I would have expected it to be seasoned with saffron. The spinach samboosa (pies), were soggie with oil. The baklava was a nice touch at the end but was hoping to be offered a tea with fresh mint. Overall, sadly we won't be back. read more

Got to the area around 9 and parked in a regular spot with NO SIGNS POSTED and as soon as I got out the car the apparent owner of this place decided to yell and me and my friends to "move our asses" out of those parking spots because they were for his customers. *Sigh* Slidell used to have an amazing Mediterranean/Greek restaurant that was in a really dinky convince store. The chicken schwarma was to die for tender and juicy and the hummus was 'let me pick my self up off of the floor' good. The food tasted good and the service was fast and friendly. The gyros was a little dry and not that flavorful. The lamb was cooked well and had a good taste but the portion was very small.
