Alberta Cycle saved my bacon! I was on my return trip from Alaska back to Virginia and my Himalayan 450 chain was completely toast at 9500 miles (15K km). Kevin and the guys went above and beyond by pulling chain and sprockets off their demo bike to make sure I got home safely. Sorry to anybody who missed out on a demo ride on my account! Apparently, Royal Enfield parts are hard to come by in Canada these days due to issues with customs. In any case, these guys were awesome to deal with and definitely worth a visit! read more

Charged me $170 to put new motorcycle tires on my rims, which I had also bought from them. needed new tires to pass out of province inspection. a couple of days later I picked up my wheels, put them back on my bike and I trailered it to the other side of the city. inspection place calls me and tells me my front tire was installed backwards and needs to be corrected before the bike would pass inspection. They offered to do it for $45, and instead of going 45 minutes across the city 3 times to grab my wheel to bring back to Alberta cycle and then return it, I thought it was the reasonable thing to do. Now, I go into Alberta cycle to explain the situation hoping to get my $45 refunded and was told "no. You should have brought the tire back for us to do it here." I had the paperwork from the OOP inspection to prove it and also the receipts from when they put my tires on the same week. Brought in two dirt bike tires for swap over onto rims on a Monday . Wow got a phone call on tuesday that they were done and ready for pickup after installation. When I arrived at Alberta cycle I let the service manager know what a great Customer service not five stars but 10 stars. Honest well rounded service I would do business again with Alberta Cycle even buy a quad or sled from them truly made my day thanks Alberta Cycle well done. read more

Alberta cycle woes I'm not one for complaining on an online platform but feel the need to share what I've been dealing with for the past couple months. I ordered a set of tires for my 2016 rsv4 in Jan 2021 from Alberta cycle, when the tires arrived i removed my wheels from my bike and dropped them off at Alberta cycle for install and balancing , not wanting to possibly damage the rims by installing them myself, I dropped them off on Feb 1st 2021 and took pictures of the wheels as they were in pristine condition and wanted to cover myself incase anything happened to them. upon returning the next day to pick up the wheels they brought them out to me and sadly they had dented them and scratched the anodized finish on both wheels, i pointed this out to the staff member i was dealing with and he agreed that this happened in the shop and that he could not personally deal with the issue at this time but the owner Richard would be in in a couple days and we would deal with the problem then. I went back a few days later and spoke to Richard and he apologized for the mishap and assured me he would take care of the issue and I would be made whole, he wanted to have a local rim shop look at the wheels and see if they could be repaired and refinished, I understood that things happen and trusted it would be dealt with properly so I left the wheels and gave him some time to deal with the problem. I went back to the shop a week later as I had not heard any updates, spoke to Richard and he had not heard back from his rim specialist I understood and left. Another week went by and no word on what was happening so i Went back to the shop yet again still no word, no Richard and no resolution. Another week passes and no word so i went back down to Alberta Cycle and Spoke with Richard, he told me the rim guy was coming in to do some other work would be looking at my wheels then, I understood and left. The following week I stopped in yet again to check the status, No update no Richard i spoke with the employee at the parts counter and was told Richard would get ahold of me when he next came in, by this point its been a month. another week goes by and still have not been contacted so i made another trip to the shop talked with Richard and he said they were still trying to come up with options and assured me we would have resolution soon. Another week goes by and was not contacted by anyone so i made yet another trip to Alberta Cycle, Richard was again not there and I spoke to the parts counter guy that i had been dealing with, explained my frustration and dissatisfaction with how long this was taking, he went to another employee and they called Richard to discuss the issue further, after getting off the phone he explained that the rim shop had looked at them and couldn't match the finish and machining the surface would get rid of the scratches and dent, I told them it wasn't a solution I would be happy with he agreed and I left. March 10th I gave Alberta Cycle a call and managed to get Ahold of Richard, and after over a month and a half here's what he proposed as solutions for the damage they caused. 1 they machine the rims to take off the finish where they are scratched and essentially have a unfinished stripe around my wheels while the rest is anodized the wine red they currently are IMO this wouldn't look right. 2 Re Anodize the wheels in a different color as they cannot match them Again this would make the bike look funny and isn't acceptable. 3 Was told he would compensate me to come up with a solution on my own and have them refinished, when I asked how much he was offering was told $250 that offer was pretty insulting so I obviously declined. 4 He offered to purchase my bike and blue book value which is again insulting due to its prior condition and low k and value of the bike. I get the fact he does not want to be on the hook for the damage caused these Malgatech forged alloy wheels are expensive $1700 USD to replace, I gave the shop ample time to come up with other solutions that would be acceptable to both parties and IMO none of the solutions offered are by any means acceptable, I as the customer paid for a service and have expectations of the quality of work I'm paying for, if damages happen I expect to be made whole and have things dealt with in a timely manner, I am not asking for anything extra I just want the wheels returned in the same condition as they were dropped off in . This is why business have insurance, he is more than capable of replacing the wheels and repairing the old and re selling them on his own time this is not my responsibility or problem to assume. When it comes to service, I've had issues with being treated like a dumb girl. I don't need the extra hassle of fighting over what's wrong with my bike. Alberta Cycle has a lot more than just cycles. They also have a healthy selection of snowmobiles, scooters, side-by-sides, and quads. There's a service department which performs repairs and maintenance on all the above-listed equipment as well as a parts department. The management/ownership at Alberta Cycle recently helped me out with a snowmobile sale. The staff I dealt with were all knowledgable, professional, and friendly. My phone calls were always promptly returned and whenever they had new information for me they got in touch with me right away. Be aware that they're closed all day Sunday and Monday. I don't get why some of the reviewers here have such a heartache about that. Is it really that big a deal to come in on Saturday as opposed to Sunday? Alberta Cycle's staff needs time to go biking and sledding too :) It was a pleasure to deal with these guys and I hope our paths cross again. read more

I own a 2007 stretched Suzuki hayabusa. I love my bike. I've put on 12000kms this year and I'm up to 27,000kms now. So it needed its first valve adjust. The bike was also hesitating and I was thinking it was the Throttle Position Sensor after the serv dept Barry mentioned it. So I gave them my bike with explicit instructions on how to recreate the hesitation. Crack the throttle, don't roll into it. My thoughts were either fuel pump, fuel filter, bad injectors, or possibly a kinked chain. Work order said valve adjust and TPS replacement. So they take the bike and I pick it up a few days later. They tell me when I pick it up that there isn't a hesitation anymore and they didn't have to change the TPS. SWEET! Nope. I get a few blocks away and it hesitates. MF'ers!!!! I go back and their resident "expert" mechanic takes it for a ride. I'm very clear with him. Crack the throttle hard and don't roll into it. He gets back 10 min later and says he cant reproduce the hesitation. Im getting pissed off...Then I'm looking the bike over and notice my exhaust silencer was blown out. Another look over and I see that my oil is low over 1.5L. As well, they've lost one of my custom ferring spike bolts. So the bike goes back the following weekend after another week of not riding it. This time I'm armed with a TPS from Argyll which was $15 cheaper. Barry suggests that it's actually the chain and sprokets that are linked and causing the hesitation. I go back the following week and pick it up again. They assure me that the hesitation is gone. Sweet! So they roll my bike out and I'm getting ready to ride away but take a walk around my bike. I immediately notice that my new exhaust's silencer (had to replace since they blew out part of my last one) was half blown out!!!! Wow. But they've assured me again that the hesitation is gone. They offer to refund the labour on the chain and sprokets and refund me the cost of the TPS. Cool. So I start to ride home and make it about a block before it hesitates again. I turn around and head back. AC offers an apology and gives me a loaner bike. Cool but that's not my bike....nor was it even a sportbike. Not comparable to a Hayabusa with a stretch. Roger and Richard both try to calm me down and assure me they will have it diagnosed immediately. Cool. So I ride up to Ft Mac. I get a text from Roger the next day saying hes been able to recreate the hesitation. Wow, took you long enough. Whatever, I'm glad you were able to finally recreate the hesitation. The day following Roger texts me again saying they've diagnosed the problem. It's actually my transmission engagement gear/sleeve. Hmmmm....strange, I didnt heat any grinding or anything. Whatever, I'm pretty upset at this point and tell him to just fix the bike. I don't care anymore. He then tells me that I'll be $3000-$4000 (at least) to repair and itll be easier to just buy a new engine and transmission. I can feel my blood pressure rising and I ask Roger if he understood what "fix the f%$king bike" meant? He then tells me that AC is refusing to fix my bike and I should come get it. They changed the TPS (finally only 4 weeks later after ordering them to do it 3 times). I've taken the liberty of reading forums and talking with guys that have built drag Busa's. General consensus is a clogged fuel filter or fuel pump, bad injectors, rust in the gas tank, possibly throttle body sync, least likely would be a clogged air filter. All the forums said that if a gear or engagement sleeve was shot, not only would it be hard to get into each gear and neutral, but it would make a disgusting noise while doing it. The bike is easily engaged in each gear and shifting feels normal. I've decided to never again trust Alberta Cycle with service work. I will not buy a new bike from them either. I will however spend money with their competitors. For that matter, I'd trust a one armed monkey to work on my bike before I go back there. Anyone that does decide to risk getting service done there should do a full walk around their bike & check oil. Better have a look for half eaten sandwiches left in the engine bay while you're at it just in case too. read more

I needed tires and my friend told me Alberta Cycle will provide the best tires available and at the best price I can find. So I went there and found he was telling the truth. Since I was overdue for the 13000 km service on my VStar I asked how much to have that done at the same time. The price was reasonable so I had them include that too. When I picked it up I learned that the valve adjustment was not done because they did not have it listed as part of the service. After checking, they said that they had made a mistake and that it should have been part of the service. I brought the bike back on another day and the adjustment was done at no additional charge. Almost everybody there was very friendly, helpful and professional and provided a positive experience. One guy I think didn't like that I didn't have to pay to have the service completed. I hope he doesn't lose too much sleep over it. One thing a lot of people lose sight of is that the customers' time has value. It takes 2 people to bring a vehicle in and provide a ride home. And if you have to come twice, that is twice as much time. Yelp thinks I am in San Francisco. They are wrong. Edmonton. read more

After wearing it for 10-15 minutes on my bike I found it was too tight, understandably they won't take the item back however their sales person told me it was the right fit, there should be some accountability by the store as this is my first bike and helmet. read more
