bolinha de queijo. like super stuffed mozzarella cheese balls, but not mozzarella & SOOO good. Plenty for 2 people to share

Have had Alberto's bookmarked for a very long time & finally decided to head out for dinner with my wife on a Friday night. Despite having been here for awhile i think this qualifies as a hidden gem & worthy of a drive out if you are not nearby. The decor is very pretty inside & perfect for a lunch or dinner of 2 to 4 people. Menu has a lot of options & it was hard to make a selection. Luckily our server was patient & we some of the last people in for the night so no rush allowed us to take our time. Funny enough, my wife & i both ordered very similar pasta dishes. The pasta was very good & rich & made for great leftovers the next day. The real highlight for me was the bolinha de queijo appetizer which a generous portion of absolutely stuffed fried cheese balls. These are a must try. We finished with a slice of cheesecake but i ate it before i could take a photo. The pastry/dessert case here is impressive & i plan on trying some of the other choices in the near future. Now that I know what Ive been missing im going to rotate it into my frequent stops for dinner.

This is a wonderful hidden gem off the beaten pathway. My husband and I love to pop in for special occasions or lunch on a weekend when out for a day drive around Old Hickory lake. We enjoyed trying a new cuisine and experiencing delicious food and pastries. Beautiful old home in a quaint setting, reminded me of the special restaurant back home where we hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner with family and friends.

The food was good but not very authentically Brazilian like I was hoping to experience. It is good food though but I would say it's more Americanized Brazilian food. The desert is not that great, our chocolate cake piece was frozen and we couldn't break it because it was kept in the freezer too long and then served to us too cold. The service is mediocre and sometimes it took a while to get anything placed. The restaurant is nice inside.

We really enjoyed our first visit. We were greeted warmly and immediately by a very nice lady who stopped by several times during our visit to check on us and offer suggestions about the menu. This always makes trying new cuisine more fun if you aren't familiar with it. Everything was delicious! It was the best beof bourguignon I've very had. The Chocolatr mouse pie was also excellent. Even though we were there during rush on a Saturday night you would not have known. Service was great and no waiting at all. Can't wait to did it again Also the desert selection was over the top!

Risotto with mushrooms parsley and lots of garlic. Delicious.

Alberto's is a nice place for anytime of the day. The ladies here are kind and knowledgeable about the food. They have vegan options. Parking is easy and there's a ramp if you have trouble with stairs. They're capable of handling a large group too. I make my reservations on the opendoor app for the just in case they're busy.

Visited this place during a quick lunch break while in the north part of Nashville Food: la quiche Provençal was well seasoned and delicious. The crust needed a little more crisp and firm to it. Environment: cute, homy decor. Parking easily available. Staff was quick. I would recommend this place for a quiet Rendez-vous.

In such a small space in June in the south, the temperature inside could have been a little cooler. I never reached the level of discomfort but didn't miss it by much. The night we were there, they had a delicious shrimp dish for a special appetizer. We shared the Escargots de Bourgogne for the table, and it didn't disappoint. Our party of three ordered two of the Le Filet Mignon's both cooked medium rare. It had a great taste, and I recommend without hesitation. One in our party ordered the Truite aux Amandes. It wasn't bad, but I have had better. It needed more sauce for one thing to help lessen a somewhat dry taste. Again, it wasn't bad but only average. For dessert, we ordered Crème Brulée and Mousse au Chocolat. Both were very good. For wine, I had a couple glasses of Chateau La Coze Bellevue St-Emition.

We did the Tour de France flight, my husband went with the whites, I did the reds, and everything was incredible. The Beaujolais, Pinot Noir, Chards (yes, because we of course shared haha)... just wow. We paired it all with steak tartare (yes, they have French bites too!), plus they offer charcuterie boards, crepes, and more. Definitely coming back for those. Bonus: every Tuesday they host wine tastings at the bar led by their sommelier, each week with a different theme, mostly French and other European wines. tickets can be purchased in their website Huge thank you to Alexander for walking us through the whole concept. A love letter, a thank you, and a heartbroken goodbye to one of Nashville's most important…read morerestaurants. For those unfamiliar: Margot Cafe & Bar opened on June 5, 2001, and will close its doors exactly 25 years later on June 5, 2026. Chef Margot McCormack gave Nashville a full year's notice, so this isn't a sudden gut-punch closing; it's a chef going out on her own terms, after a quarter century of running a beloved restaurant. Bittersweet, but graceful. (Still not over the closing of sister restaurant & cozy brunch spot Marché, which shuttered in June 2020, an early local dining casualty during the pandemic.) If you haven't read Steve Cavendish's excellent essay "Dish Network" (featured in Greetings from New Nashville, a collection of essays edited by another local, Steve Haruch), do yourself a favor and pick it up. It lays out exactly what Margot meant to this city: how her opening was the lightning rod that shifted Nashville's dining scene from a sea of chain restaurants to the chef- and ingredient-driven landscape that ultimately earned three local spots Michelin recognition in the inaugural South ceremony this fall. I came in one last time for dinner and one last time for brunch this past week. Brunch has always been my favorite here, and sitting at the bar earlier this week was unlike any other meal I've had in Nashville. The seats around me were filled with locals, many wearing nostalgic Margot merch, who had come as solo diners for one last meal. Strangers were reminiscing with each other and with the staff about what this place has meant to them. It was the kind of communal, slightly teary, genuinely warm experience you can't manufacture; it only happens at a restaurant that has truly been part of a city's fabric for decades, and we're collectively grieving that loss. A conversation topic that kept coming up across both of my visits is something I'm honestly still wrestling with: so many wonderful restaurants have opened in Nashville since Margot first paved the way, but very few are doing it the way Margot does. The menu truly changes every day. It's hyperlocal, ingredient-driven, based on whatever came in that morning. When I came in for brunch, the bartender told me to nix the strawberries listed on the printed menu in favor of farm-fresh blueberries because that was literally what had been brought in that morning. For dinner, I had a pappardelle (sourced from another excellent local spot: Mr. Aaron's Goods) with gigante beans in a garlicky, comforting sauce that I am genuinely still dreaming about almost a week later. Paired it with a dry pinot gris, on a rainy night, it was pure cozy magic. I can't tell you exactly what to order if you're lucky enough to snag one of the final reservations, because by the time you get there the menu will be different. But that's the whole point. That's the Margot ethos. Margot has always been comfort food, friendship, and celebrating local to me. I'm heartbroken to see it end, but so, so grateful for the inimitable legacy Margot leaves behind for the Nashville restaurant scene to follow. Thank you, Chef Margot, for everything you've given this city.
