    Springfield hot chicken salad
    Sheena T.

Public House is a very good restaurant in Springfield! I stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and had a great visit. They were busy and service was a little slow at first but once we got our order in things were much smoother. For drinks I ordered a glass of wine (they had a good selection) and my BF had a margarita. We started with the cheese board and it was a large portion and very good with a variety of cheeses, dried fruit and olives. It was so much food we took it to go! I had the Springfield hot chicken salad and also the pimento bacon flatbread. The salad was good with a sweet and spicy sauce and the flatbread was tasty. I probably wouldn't get the salad again but it was good to try and it was a lighter option. The bar and vibe was great and I'll definitely check them out again when I'm back in Springfield!

Food was awesome and I feel like this is a hidden gem in Springfield. Their tomato soup was delicious! The service was a little bit slow for a lunch rush but the food was worth the wait!

The food was delicious and made from scratch! The pimento cheese covered chicken, the pimento cheese burger, and the lavender lagoon were our favorites! I loved the design of the inside also!

What a wonderful experience! This place is so quaint and cute, love the ambience. Stephanie the bartender/waitress was so attentive and one of the kindest people I've ever met! She was able to accommodate our large party for my best friends birthday! And the food is delicious and not to mention the drinks! Stephanie makes some mean drinks so delicious! Definitely will be back and highly recommend! I had the fresh catch which was red snapper with mashed potatoes and greens!

The Vibe: We arrived a little after 2 p.m., knowing they closed at 3, so the team was already starting to wind things down and close off part of the dining room. The place looks and feels exactly like you'd expect from a classic diner, simple, casual, and comfortable. It was clean, which I always appreciate. The only small quirk was that our booth table sat a little off-center, so we had to do a quick adjustment, but no big deal. Service: Our server looked like he might've just started, honestly, he couldn't have been more than 12 (lol). You could tell he was new and nervous, but very polite and trying hard. When I ordered the breakfast croissant, he quickly said they were out, and another server jumped in to help clarify part of my friend's order. Despite the small hiccups, everything was handled kindly, and he was genuinely nice. Food & Drinks: I went with the Breakfast Burrito, and it was good -- nothing to write home about, but solid. The scrambled eggs were super fluffy, which stood out, and the salsa had good flavor. My friend ordered the Cowboy Eggs (two eggs over crispy tortillas with refried beans, cheese, and avocado). He felt the same -- decent, but standard. He also mentioned his coffee wasn't hot -- more "end-of-day warm," lol -- which fit the late-afternoon timing. On the drive back, he said something didn't sit quite right afterward, which was unusual for him. Overall: It was fine for what it was -- clean, friendly, and typical diner fare -- but nothing that would make me want to stop in again, even if I were close by. Date of Visit: November 2, 2025

The side of candied bacon is generous and piled high, so only order if you plan to share! Tackle it alone and you may die (happily) of diabetes and a heart attack right there at the table. Expect about $300 per couple for a dining experience that offers many unique twists! For instance, the bread service comes with a candle made of beef tallow which turns into a dip as the wick burns down. The tomahawk is seared table-side with a torch, as is the crème brûlée! And it's a rare place that offers the elusive Chateaubriand steak. They even have four-pound loaded baked potatoes. And that's not to mention Nashville's most expensive dish, their signature $1,800 extravaganza for two including a tomahawk steak and a rare cognac. Harper's is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind restaurant. The calamari is a highlight, a little salty for my taste but one of the best versions in town. The French onion soup is worth trying, its Havarti and Swiss combination beautifully finishing the top! Knowing the countless steak options were all solid choices, I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried elk for the first time since Harper's offers such exotic choices. And it was pretty good. But there's no question the Argentinian Chimichurri saved it. The beef tallow fries are also decent. And yes, the crème brûlée is magnificent!

We came here for late dinner, 8.30 and this place was not packed which is very surprising, bc they play music jazz music, and you can have a lovely dinner and still hear ppl talk. But the best thing is their pork chop !!! This is a must get. Thank me later. We got the pork chop medium well bc we like our pork more cooked bc ain't no one trying to get salmonella from undercooked pork. But it was sooo good, has a nice char on the outside, and perfectly seasoned. Additionally, it sits on top of a bed of allegedly "rice" according to our server. But to me, it reminded me of a tendon brisket texture. I would've bet money on it too. But delicious with sweet peach sauce that came with it. For the prime rib, it was a huge cut of meat, but it was lacking flavor, needed some more salt and some rosemary to bring out the meat. Both main dishes can serve 2 people each, so worth the price and food. Definitely come back! And a shout out to our server Cole, who was great
