We are very understanding of people being understaffed these days but a heads up would have been better than lying to us saying the order was on its way for 40 minutes. We live 5 minutes away and could have picked it up had they told us how much longer it would actually be. Heated up a frozen pizza for my 5 year old @ 8pm. Surprised no one has reviewed this place. I mean it's a local pizza place that seems to get a lot of business, and have reasonably good prices. They deliver which is a SUPER plus. Just moving to the area and trying other pizza places around this area (being oxford, seymour) I got to say this is prolly the best around. The sausage pizza is great, something about the sausage its like crazy good. Me, personally, I don't really like the whole sausage on pizza thing, but ordered a half cheese and half sausage due to not being able to agree with the boyfriend and I ended up just wanting the sausage, because it was that good. teehee ANYWAYS, they deliver, reasonable wait time, and prices are good. Again, this is my overall choice for pizza in this general area. Solid local Italian spot. Friendly family service, unpretentious, and very good food. The pizza gets an A, their hot grinders are good, and the meals are excellent. Whether it's delivery or pickup, we're probably good for 2-3x a month at this spot, and it never disappoints. The restaurant itself is not fancy and probably hasn't been updated since the Reagan administration, but that in no way detracts from the food, and in my opinion is actually part of the charm of the place. On to the food. The chicken piccata is very good, with a nice lemon flavor to balance out the butter and capers. The stuff shrimp are a favorite, loaded with seafood stuffing. Chicken Marsala, Baked Ziti, they're all yummy! In our house, no order from Alberto's is complete without a side of meatballs, which can compete with Grandma's best efforts! As for the pizza, this is Connecticut. We're smack in the middle of the pizza belt, and poor product doesn't fly - in this regard, Alberto's stands up to the test. Their sauce is very good, the cheese is cooked just right, and the crust is substantial enough to support the toppings, yet thin enough to still crisp up nicely. Bottom line, this is excellent pizza. Personal preferences being what they are, I'm a sucker for their sausage & pepper pie, but also enjoy a nice cheese pizza every once in awhile. You really can't go wrong with whatever toppings you choose. On those nights we don't feel like cooking, or say, it's Friday, we're probably ordering Alberto's. Every town has its go-to Italian restaurant. In Seymour, this is it, and it's excellent! read more

Stumbled upon this gem by looking for something halfway between Bridgeport and Waterbury and was very pleasantly surprised. The decor is modern and attractive, with comfy booths lining the walls and tables in the center to accommodate large groups. Everything is very clean and the waitress was pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious. I had chicken Dijon-the cutlets were thin and the sauce was creamy and delicious. My husband said his veal parmigiana was one of the best he's ever had. Never going back. $75 for dinner and the food was blah, however, plentiful. If you get what you pay for, I was expecting a lot more flavor. Have to give this place a great review for their takeout pizza. We had it on a Sunday night with family and between the sausage, pepperoni, and plain cheese each slice had their own unique flavor. Its a solid pie, fair prices, and the people who work there are super nice. Everyone up front, and behind the counter has a "hi hon" or "how are ya buddy" for you. This is a nice little neighborhood Italian restaurant. It's often busy on the weekend. I usually go for the lasagna, but also love their chicken parm. After ordering from this place weekly for 3 years, the owners son and the rude person taking my call have lost my business. In addition to the rudeness, I asked for a special that i have been ordering for 3 years. I was told it didnt exist. When i explained i ordered it last week I was told i didnt or i just got lucky. The girl said to me " well whattaya want me to do?". I ask to speak to a manager and get someone that immediately identifies himself as the owners son, as if I should be scared. When i explain what happened he repeats what the girl said, that it never existed. The food is good, the portions and prices are good also. They have some nice waitresses. I like the old school laid back feel I get there. I reminds me of when I was young and everyone had more time. Just ordered takeout on a Monday. Very happy with our selection. I didn't experience the same issue as some previous reviews about small portions or just chunks of lettuce in the salad. The lettuce in my salad was fresh romaine and my eggplant rollatini included two large potions with a nice side of ziti. I ordered extra sauce because I hate when restaurants skimp, but Alberto's included plenty of sauce. My friends got a calzone and a chicken cutlet grinder...both enjoyed! I don't recommend this place. The food is decent but the waitress has an attitude. She overcharged for a lunch salad by putting a dinner salad price on the bill. When questioned about this she blamed the customer by saying she did not specify a lunch salad so she was charged for a dinner salad. Since when do you get charged a dinner salad by default during lunch ours and it's your fault for not ordering it correctly?? When we brought several points up to the waitress all she did was argue and argue. When asked to speak to the manager, she said she didn't know where he was. I had to go into the kitchen to ask the chef where the manager was. When you are in the service business, the customer is always right, EVEN if you think they're wrong. They adjusted the price but that was my first and last time there. By the way the place is EMPTY during lunch. It's no wonder why. read more

Service is slow, and waitresses get defensive & argue when mistakes were made on order or questions about the food are asked. (frozen, microwaved etc..) So I'm out to eat. And the girl I was with ordered a mini pizza. I ordered the chef salad and we continued our conversation. About 15 mins later her pizza arrives and I tell her to dig in while it's hot. "Don't worry about me. I'm sure my salad will be right here" I tell her. Another 10 mins go buy and she starts telling me she feels wired cuz they forgot my order. I flag down one of the waitresses and ask politely for the check. We had a movie to get too and I didn't have anymore time to eat. The waitress sees I don't have any mess in front of me and gets this scared look in her face. She runs to the back, makes a quick salad and brings it to me telling me it's the peoples in the kitchens fault, and it was not her fault and she was sorry. I tell her it's ok. Wrap it up for me, I'll take it to go. And she then asks the girl I was with if she would like the rest of her pie wrapped. She says yes. The waitress brings the food back to wrap it. Comes back with only the pie and a slip for 2 drinks and a mini pie. 12 and change.... So I pay without a tip after waiting another 10 mins for my salad. Never got to eat. Never going to Alberto's in Seymour again. The pizza place next to the theaters. read more
