Another great night at Fratelli's - Milford, CT…read more This was our fourth visit to Fratelli's, and it continues to deliver. We started with the wedge salad, which sounds simple on paper but was anything but. Crisp iceberg, a rich blue cheese that actually tasted like blue cheese, and bacon that somehow turned iceberg lettuce into heaven -- not an easy feat. Cocktails were excellent. My wife had a blueberry lemonade that she absolutely loved, and I went with an Old Fashioned that was perfectly balanced. Liz behind the bar consistently makes great cocktails, and last night was no exception. For dinner, I had the halibut piccata over spinach. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of bright, clean flavor. The fish was delicate, the piccata sauce was just right, and honestly... there was no chance of leftovers. None. My wife ordered the eggplant rollatini. Portions were generous, and she happily brought half home -- which tells you everything you need to know. She called it divine, and I believe her. Our server, Matt, was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and paced the meal perfectly without ever hovering. Service like that really elevates the whole experience. Warm atmosphere, thoughtful food, generous portions, and consistently solid execution. Fratelli's has become one of those places we keep coming back to -- and recommending. We'll definitely be back.

The food easily earns a 9/10 overall. The service was great, but the dishes were the real stars of the night: Chicken Milanese: Absolutely excellent. Easily one of the best versions of this dish we have ever tasted in Connecticut. Veal Meatballs: Incredible texture and flavor. Truly stand-out quality. Gorgonzola Pasta: Incredibly unique. If you love Gorgonzola cheese, this is an absolute must-try. Pizza: Good crust and flavor. The complimentary bread was just average, but everything else completely blew us away. We highly recommend checking this neighborhood spot out!

The waitress didn't check in much but the bus boy was sweet and extremely attentive. I hope he got part of our tip! We ordered the burratta appetizer to share which was covered in tasty pesto. My friends both got the fettuccine Alfredo which they described as creamy and delicious and one of the better ones they've had. I got the carbonara, which was good but I wasn't blown away. I was torn between this and another choice and I think I will have to come back and try the other option.

While the food at GG's is usually outstanding, our experience yesterday was extremely…read moredisappointing. Before ordering, we informed our waitress that a member of our party has a severe shellfish allergy, including all shellfish and anchovies. Since she was new, I took extra time to clarify the allergy and discuss safe menu options. We determined that I could not order anything fried, including chicken cutlets, because the fryer is shared with shellfish items such as calamari and shrimp. Unfortunately, this is a challenge we often face when dining out. Given the limited options available, I ordered the ravioli with Sunday sauce. However, I became very sick that night. While I cannot say with certainty what happened, I suspect there may have been some form of cross-contamination in the kitchen, whether from gloves, utensils, or food handling procedures. What made the experience even worse was the interaction with the manager, Cindy. I found her to be rude, dismissive, and lacking the customer service skills expected in a hospitality setting. Rather than showing concern for a guest with a serious food allergy, her attitude left us feeling unwelcome and unvalued. Based on conversations with others, this behavior unfortunately does not seem to be an isolated incident. Between the apparent lack of allergy safeguards and the poor customer service we experienced, this visit has left us questioning whether we will return. Food allergies are not preferences; they are serious medical concerns that require careful attention and respect.
