    Blueberry French Toast

I haven't been to Albert's in a long time, especially since moving downtown. I remember going to the one on 99th ST a once or twice when I was living in Millwoods. We got up at the crack of dawn to have breakfast here before work. This place opens at 7:00AM so to feed those of us that are too lazy to cook at home and need coddling before work. I had blueberry French toast and my partner had a waffle of some kind. The food came out quickly and it was overall a painless process. HUGE portions, but unsurprisingly we stuffed it all down as a coping mechanism and to help us face they day. Our server kept the coffee coming so that was a plus. The decor is so old school/diner style it makes me laugh. It's like stepping back in time. :) Orange juice was strange - it was very pulpy, but still somehow tasted off. Otherwise no complaints! I'll probably be back for another early AM breakfast sesh at some point!

Knowing we had limited time and seeing that the Urban Diner's line was out the door, my bf decided we were going to Albert's. I was less than enthusiastic, given many Albert's have closed or become really dodgy. I hadn't been in one in easily 15 years, and never to this location. But my bf knew better as I reluctantly followed him in. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. The place was busy with people of all sorts streaming in, quickly being seated and served. Though dated and minimalistic, the restaurant is clean and bright. Our server Colleen was an absolute gem, and I heard other patrons compliment her on her friendly and efficient service. She greeted everyone with a smile and checked our coffee at least 4 times in 40 minutes despite the place being packed. Heck, she won our hearts when she asked and then delivered hot sauce to our table. Thank you Colleen, you made an impression! The food was pretty good too, at prices that are comparable to Smitty's or Ricki's, which to be honest are a little higher than needed for what you get. I had potato pancakes with 2 pieces of bacon (~$8.50, a little expensive IMO), optional sides of sour cream or apple sauce. They reminded me more of latkes than pancakes, I posted a picture of them - they were nicely fried, not too greasy, and flavourful. My bf had eggs, pork sausage and hash browns. Gold star for chunky hashbrowns and not nasty shoestring ones! He loved his meal and I even liked the pork sausage, which I often find too chewy and fatty. Even the coffee was good. A very good meal all around! A great place to go if you're on a budget but still want a good quality, home made breakfast. Albert's is an Edmonton institution, for better or for worse, but this location really does the legacy proud. I'm sorry I had a bad attitude walking in! I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

We come here for breakfast really early in the mornings before work starts and the selling point of this place is that the staff is always always so cheerful and happy in the mornings, ready to offer you coffee even before you sit down. Lorraine is an awesome ray of sunshine. They have a special in the mornings: if you come in before 11am you get a full breakfast of two eggs, two meat of your choice (bacon or sausage) and either hash browns and toast or two buttermilk pancakes - all for 7.99! I will be very sad if this place closes, because it's always a good start to my day.

This place has been around forever for a reason people. It's so iconic, they shot a movie here. If you are looking for a breakfast that lacks in trappings or pretense but delivers on the promise of filling your belly with wholesome, home style breakfast - then you need to check out Albert's. I think when you're walking up to a place and their main exterior decoration is just the words: "STEAK PANCAKES STEAK PANCAKES, etc." You know what you can expect. & You would be right, simple, straight forward tasty - FOOD. Served up by staff who know what tf they are doing because they have been doing it the right way forever. When I went I had a skillet, and it was a complete delight. Everything was prepared - just right, I don't know how else to describe it. Not too much of anything, not too little. Great portions for a big eater like myself. Just an all around great place and great bang for your buck, go eat at Albert's or don't call yourself an Edmontonian lol

Can't believe this cost $8.20... Literally 2 eggs and a bit of fruits...

I loved my Red Curry Laksa. It was fresh and rich. Loved the red coconut curry sauce. The seafood was a decent portion. My friend liked her falafal but it definately wasn't the best she has had and was eyeing up my curry. Service was OK. Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday, otherwise they open for lunch (closed Mondays). Epic Market is huge. This will be a very popular place for the Whyte Avenue crowd as there are so many options available depending on which floor you enter. We were on the second floor today for brunch but the first floor, which has a similar look and feel, has a Mexican menu. It opens for lunch at 11:30am. It's a unique concept for Edmonton. The server said that they've opened similar restaurants in larger cities like Toronto but Edmonton is their first venture into a "smaller market". The brunch menu was interesting with some unique features and some typical offerings. I had the Pork Bennie, for $18.00 in 2024. The prices are quite reasonable for the type and quantity of the food. My bennie was good. My only criticism is that a special house ketchup would have been a nice touch. The service was excellent and we had a nice view of Gateway Blvd out the window. The coffee includes endless refills which is good because the cups were not very large. I'm sure the vibe is much different for dinner than brunch, but based on our experience, I'll definitely return.

My wife and I both ordered the Chandru Special for $17.50. It's a crepe with bacon and eggs inside plus some cheese slices melted on top. There was a side of fresh fruit. The presentation was somewhat lacking as the cheese slices made it look like something you find at your children's birthday party. The dish definitely needed some sauce to help it down. At least the fruit was good. Our server was very skilled at tunnel vision as she didn't see us even when walking right by our table. Eventually we caught her and got a refill for our coffee. She was pleasent enough when she arrived but definitely didn't want to do refills. On a more positive note, my friend ordered an omelet which came with potatoes that looked like thick potato chips. They looked good and he liked them. If I return it will be because I am in the area and can't find a better place. In other words, three stars out of five.

I was contacted a year later by a new general manager, who addressed my issues, and promised a successful event for 2016. I booked our event with Elizabeth, who was beyond helpful and accommodating. I had so many changes with guest lists, and table arrangements, and Elizabeth happily accommodated every request. The night of the function, I arrived early and there were some things that weren't quite set up right, but the banquet supervisor worked quickly to get things in order. All the staff were very friendly and super helpful. I felt like they all had their A-game on. When there was a discrepancy on the banquet order about what time we had the room until, the supervisor was extremely accommodating. I absolutely love the "Top of the Inn". It's a spectacular room with floor to ceiling windows on both sides, overlooking the city. The room was renovated just a few years ago, and there are stunning sparkling led lights in the ceiling that really make it feel like your under the night sky. This would be a very romantic spot for a wedding. The food is always great here. Buffet's can always be hit or miss but they do a great job here. Many of the guests commented on the food. The banquet prices are competitive with other hotels in Edmonton. Out of all the Edmonton hotels I've held banquets at, or attended banquets, I really think that the Top of the Inn at the Delta is the most stunning. And after the great service we had this time, I won't hesitate to book again.

We would go back in a heartbeat, just need to sleep off the food coma for a while. It's bright and airy in spite of the smallish space and the amount of booths and tables, oh and you can sit at the counter. The walls and ceiling are covered in memorabilia, concert banners and what not. The place was absolutely hopping at 12:45 PM, but we were sat in a booth right away. Waters dropped moments later, asked if we needed coffee, tea or whatever else you wanted to drink. Our server was fantastic, explaining and educating us as we were first timers. The food came out piping hot very quickly and our tea ordered after the food was dropped came in a large teapot and hot just like at home. The clubhouse, which I did not have, has house made ham and turkey according to our server. My corn beef had slices of corn beef that did not taste house made, but the sheer volume of meat I couldn't finish, the eggs were cooked perfectly. K's Mexicasa omelette was excellent with the Mexican meat the star. I know why the place is consistently full, it's that good. Definite redo when back in West Edmonton
