So this is a pretty typical brunch place based on ambiance. It is clean and non descript. Kinda feels like a cafeteria without the ability to sit and chat. Service was okay. She was busy and so it took a while for us to have our hot water/coffee filled. However she was friendly. Food was excelllent however. Especially if you love eggs Benedict. There are so many to choose from and for price point pretty similar to other brunch places. I had the crab cake eggs bennies, and they were really flavourful. And i was pleased that the size was reasonable as with the amount of crab/filler ratio. They did a good job. There are a few more I wouldn't mind trying. The menu is in fact quite extensive. We arrived around 8:15/8:30am on a Tuesday, it was quiet but by the time we left it was a full house! The food was okay, I had the avocado toast, and the amount they put on seemed equivalent to how much butter you apply to bread? So wasn't happy about that. My partner who ordered the waffles, they didn't add the bananas because they only had green bananas, which is unfortunate. The establishment was rather dirty, referring to the floors and bathroom. I met a friend here for breakfast and it was perfectly charming! The menu has so many tasty items. If you love eggs Benny they have so many kinds. The breakfast menu has choices for everyone. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benny while my friend had the mushroom brie. Both were excellent! Service was friendly and efficient. It was steady the whole time we were there and told it gets very busy on the weekend. There are children's menu items so it is absolutely family friendly. A couple months ago I was in Sherwood Park for work. One restaurant I've been wanting to try for a while is Toast. My parents told me that they have a traditional English/Irish breakfast, with white and black pudding (hint: the pudding in this case is not a dessert). I lived in Dublin for a bit, and while I didn't have a full Irish breakfast every day there it was something I enjoyed from time to time, and so I was excited to know there's a place somewhat close by (well closer than Ireland) that would have this. I went in on a Sunday morning around 9am. It was busy, but I was able to get a table right away. I was also alone, so if I'd been with more people I may have had to wait a bit. In any case I got a coffee and put in my order for the full English/Irish breakfast. It probably only took about 10 minutes to come out, and like a full breakfast this was massive. The breakfast even came with Irish soda bread (though you could get regular toast, but why?). The only thing missing was a side of Irish butter (which I know we can't get in Canada, but it's the most delicious butter ever - if you go to Ireland try the butter, Kerrygold was my favourite). This dish the pricier breakfast option at $18.25, but with the amount of food you get you probably won't need to eat lunch. Having this totally brought me back to being in Ireland. Of course they have lots of other breakfast options like pancakes, omlettetes, etc. and lunch options as well. Next time I'm in Sherwood Park I'll make sure to stop at Toast again. read more

We're not from Sherwood Park but this is where we bought our SUV so we thought we would have it serviced here and catch the shuttle to a breakfast place. I consulted the Yelp app and Toast came up first. I chose it because I thought it was connected to the wonderful café in central Edmonton with the same name. It's not connected, or at least if it is, this Toast is nothing like the Edmonton Toast. However it's still a four star breakfast place so we're in. The staff were super friendly, not just in timing and getting the job done but by appearing like they are actually glad we came in. I like that. I ordered the Bruschetta Benedict for $14.50. My wife ordered the Fit N Heathy breakfast for $12.95. We were both satisfied with the size and, while I don't normally order Benedicts, this one sounded unique enough to tempt me. It was good and I found it interesting to try a different type of breakfast that you can't get everywhere else. There were a lot of hash browns but I suppose if they cut back someone would say that there's not enough hashbrowns. This is not a coffee place but they did still have a choice of medium or dark roast and my cup never reached half empty before the friendly server was there to top it off. I gave this Toast 4 out of five stars for very good food reasonable prices, decent coffee and being open in this new pandemic world. I didn't give them five because the food was very good but not outstanding either. Also the decor seemed a little dark with an 80s look to it. When I next return to Sherwood Park I'll probably be back. read more

This is a cute place in a strip mall on baseline road. It serves breakfast and lunch. The menu is quite extensive. A bit overwhelming at first glance. I was torn between a savoury crepe and the salmon sandwich. I opted for the salmon sandwich on a bagel. When I asked for my bagel choices, I was told there's one kind. Which was underwhelming, but I went with it. My dining companion went for a turkey club. The entrees come with soup, salad or fries. We both selected fries. The restaurant was fairly busy. We were there at about noon on an a Saturday. Or entrees arrived quickly. And looked tasty! The fries were hot and crisp. My bagel was toasted perfectly, filled with cream cheese, smoked salmon and red onions. The turkey club looked great, the turkey slices thickly. It got rave reviews. It's a cute place. Comfortable. There is a sign on the wall that says eat local. I was curious if the ingredients are locally sourced. Or if that referred to supporting a local business. Our waitress was efficient, but I thought that question was beyond her. I'm still curious. I'd like to try other items on the menu. Maybe I'll get the answer to my question on a future visit. read more

We had an awesome breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Large group and they were very accommodating even though it was quite busy. I had the daily special which was a cinnamon bun French toast. Awesome. It would have been cool to have it with a side of meat but alas it didn't come with it. But I ordered a side of sausage so all ended well. Servers were awesome. Very friendly and the coffee never went dry. This is not a fancy place but great "home cooking" and excellent service. We will definitely be back. We have tried both St. Albert and Sherwood Park locations and both are worth a trip. read more

Today I met a few friends for brunch at Toast in Sherwood Park. I have tried their other location in St. Albert and was very impressed, so I was very much looking forward to a visit to this location. The restaurant was packed (always a good sign) so our group of five people had to wait to be seated during this busy time. Surprisingly we were only waiting about 10 min or so before they had a table ready. This was made even more impressive considering there was three wait staff for the entire restaurant who were hostessing, busing tables, and serving! Our orders were collected in a timely fashion and the food that arrived promptly was delicious! Our server made certain that our drinks were topped up and that we weren't waiting on anything. All in all it was well worth driving from Stony Plain to try it out and I would certainly visit again. The only odd part of our experience was that the bathroom sink is located inside the wheelchair accessible stall! So if you are in the other cubicle and someone is using that stall (there are only two in total) you are out of luck for washing your hands. Not very hygienic in a restaurant environment. I think a little expansion where the sink could be separated from the toilet stalls would definitely be beneficial! No one is going to wait for a sink while the stall is in use, or even know the sink is there if the door is closed. Something to seriously consider! Other than that it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty breakfast or lunch option! read more

Myself and my good friend have been loyal customers since the opening of Toast.We constantly brag to people we know about how great this place has been to us, and why we come here no less than three times a week, mainly for our early morning breakfast and the odd lunch or two. We have been totally satisfied with our breakfast each day, and find coffee that is second to none to go along with our meals. We have tried almost all the breakfast spots in Sherwood Park and Ardrossan area and we are proud to call this place Home. Servers are great to us and very respectful as well. Food was really good, about as close to getting a full Irish/English (only the fried bread missing, lol). Food came out very fast but placing the order, paying was slow, and no one came around to top up coffee. This was the difference between a 5 and 4 star rating. I so wanted to absolutely love this Irish Breakfast House, and I almost did. Good location, lots of windows, bright, attractive interior, pleasant cheerful staff. There was even a soccer match on the tv! Good menu with lots of choice, great to see somebody doing breakfast the way that I grew up with. Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, homefries, baked beans, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes. The problem was in the execution. Maybe I was expecting too much. The eggs where cooked perfectly, the problem was that they tasted like they were cooked on top of a hamburger (I know that taste from past years, working as a breakfast chef). Kinda gross actually (please just scrape the grill!). Bacon is impossible to screw up, but the sausages were kind of nasty. Just cheap, and reheated in the deep fryer. They really didn't need the extra grease. The mushrooms were great. So many places are so cheap with them, but this was a healthy portion. I was secretly hoping that the tomatoes would be grilled, like back home, but they were fresh, as most people seem to expect over here. I'll never understand that one! The single biggest disappointment that I had was with the potatoes. These were NOT homefries, as described on the menu. Homefries are cooked potatoes that are cooked on the grill, sometimes with onions, so that they form that nice crispy brown caramelized crust. Granted, they can be a pain in the butt to make, but you just have to plan ahead and make sure that you are prepped up. These were a pre-made potato product (probably McCains) that comes in frozen and is then just deep-fried. Everyone has probably had them before, as they are used just about everywhere (especially if it's a chain joint). Overall, not too bad, but I didn't go there and pay $13 for a breakfast plate that was just ok. I would have gone to McDonald's and paid a whole lot less. read more

Normally we really enjoy eating at Toast in Sherwood Park. Today we ordered the "Special of the day" which turned out to be Fish and Chips with Clam Chowder soup. We also ordered 1 cup of tea. The soup was excellent, the chips were outstanding as usual. However, the coleslaw was tasteless and some the fish was tasteless and a bit soggy. My wife got a piece of fish she could hardly cut and it appeared to be almost raw. I suspect it was a new cook who didn't know how to season the food they were cooking. We did get $3.00 off the bill after complaining to the waitress. It was a fairly expensive meal, $39 after tip and discount. The restaurant was not nearly as busy as it was even a month ago. I think they are missing the Irish lady who left and went back to Ireland. read more

My sister-in-law and I enjoyed brunch here one weekday morning about two months ago and this place has been on my mind since. I just had to write a review! We had such a wonderful brunch here. It's so nice to find a place that has a bit of a spin on the typical breakfast menu. It was so cool to see an Irish take on breakfast. The place itself was clean and comfortable. The serve was incredible. So nice to hear her Irish accent! She was so attentive and made sure our cups were always full of steaming hot coffee. You will also see novels and books on display in the restaurant. Just gives it a really homey relaxed sort of feel. Skip the usual breakfast places and try out Toast.
