I wish I could downgrade this review to zero stars, their lack of care is just crazy. I dropped in last night after my workout and grabbed one of their fresh fruit bowls for a little snack. I got home, started watching some TV and enjoying my fruit bowl. I got about halfway down and noticed something that looked off color-wise. Upon investigation it turned out to be a strawberry with mold all over the bottom. I immediately spit out what was in my mouth and went back to Albertson's. The woman that helped me Clarissa was very very nice and extremely apologetic about it. She called someone and asked if there was a protocol for a customer that had consumed food that had mold in it. He said something to her and she told me management or the owner would want to talk to me. She took all my info and asked if I was ok, I told her it had only been about 15 minutes so I wasn't sure but I felt ok at the time. Today came and went with no call, my wife asked me to grab some frozen items on my way home so I stopped by again today despite my hesitation because of last night. On my way out I ran into Clarissa again, I asked if someone was supposed to call me and she said no they told her if I wasn't ill they didn't need to call. So basically they wanted to make sure I wasn't a sue threat and then brush me aside. Disgusting behavior and I can't stress enough do not buy anything "freshly" prepared by the store. read more

We stopped by before a play at Bakersfield College. This is definitely a rough location. There were quite a few homeless people in the parking lot, but they were also by the door, so you're walking over them. This is definitely a location I would not feel safe at night. Great staff at this place but had to go to the register to get what I needed I was looking for the propane refill prices as they don't post them out front and I understand because the price has changed a lot but it should be posted somewhere and say at least for the week month of this these are the prices which wouldn't have had me going around for 10 minutes trying to find somebody and out of the seven employees I asked none of them do it off the top of their heads. No problem went to the register and was able to get the price right away so two of the employees I passed I gave them a heads up that it was 2199 for a refill I didn't quite ask about the replacement as I don't ever replace my tanks. Either way good visit I bought in my two tanks as that is a very fair price the lowest I've seen has been about 19 bucks at a Fast Trip in the Rosedale location.. 4 out of five stars cuz nobody offered to go to the register and give you the price real quick but other than that great visit. read more

The fried chicken is usually tasty and tender, but when my wife picked up a bag yesterday,the chicken was all drumsticks. They were larger than normal and the meat tasted tough and old. I got a couple pieces down and the rest is going in the trash. read more

I stopped by this Albertsons on the East Side to grab some ice for a party, and the experience was unsettling. The parking lot wasn't very well lit, and there were several transients around the entrance and people roaming the area. At one point, someone even tried pulling on my car handle--definitely not ideal. Unfortunately, this isn't a store I'd feel comfortable visiting after hours. read more

Parents and letting their kids run loose with zero supervision screaming and yelling up and down the isles. So sad but I guess will have to start using a different grocery store. Don't know if this is a common occurrence, but it was good to see. While I was purchasing tickets at their Lotto/Lottery Vending machine, I could not help but notice how good the staff was. The few employees at the registers greeted their customers with a friendly hello, and they knew many of the customers names. Maybe it was just a coincidence that this happened while i was here, but it was good to see and hear. Nice job folks! By the way, my tickets lost. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky next time. read more

I have been using their drive-up and go service for at least a year now and am extremely disappointed with it. They say they don't have items available so I go into the store to look for a replacement item and find my item in plain sight. Also, they just don't even put your item in your order, but charge you for it. I have talked with management numerous times, but nothing changes. read more

I feel like I need to write a review for Albertsons because I need to tell everyone a little secret; because I didn't know people didn't know! ALBERTSONS HAS AN AMAZING DELI!!!!!!!! I learned this from my sister that makes delicious sandwiches with the Primo Taglio Cajun Style Turkey. So I have been going and i have tried so many meats and cheeses but my favorite are Dietz & Watson Buffalo Style Chicken Breast, Primo Taglio Southwestern Style Turkey Breast and the Primo Taglio Hot Habanero Colby I have more favorites but I think you get it! To add to the awesomeness the deli clerks are all super nice and they ensure you're happy with the cut you receive. Janice was my Deli clerk and she would show me the first cut to ensure I was happy, she was great. In addition, the bakery is amazing, the butcher shop is expensive but stocked with chunky shrimp. They are also fully stocked in the Wine, Beer & Spirits. Albertsons is all round a cool grocery store they are neat, every aisle is perfectly organized and the floors are shiny, trust me it's important it says a lot; just look down. read more

I'm writing this review mainly hoping that the management will see it and know that having one checker available while 20 people are going through self checkout with no supervision is likely to lose your store a lot of money. I know that that's the way a lot of stores are going now, but I can't imagine paying wages for even one more cashier wouldn't be worth your while for the amount of free groceries that are walking out through your self check out area. Otherwise the store has great products available. It's a little pricey. I like the employees,I like the selection. I don't like standing six deep in one line with one cashier. No one's helping him bag. There is no supervision in the self check out. I'm afraid that the only really good store on the east side is probably not going to make It. read more

I have used Albertson's Deli on several occasions, and it has been pretty good for the most part, but this last weekend was so disappointing I had to report -- we ordered a fruit tray to be picked up for our Easter gathering -- I ordered via phone to deli and pick up time was set for Sunday 8:00 AM -- we went to pick up around 8:15 and after trips around the store and to three different departments, no one could find the order. Then comes the questions about "how" I ordered it etc. They had orders prepared but not ours... after about 10 minutes and several workers, they found the order and to be frank, I wish they had not. When we got it home and unwrapped, there were at least two moldy strawberries, unripe watermelon and grapes were not fresh... we ended up throwing it all out at a cost of $39.99. So disappointing -- I will not order from there again... read more

Albertsons on Mt. Vernon has recently made shopping very inconvenient and laborious. The laundry products, hygiene products such as bath soap, shampoo, etc., dental products, nutritional products such as vitamins, protein drinks, etc., first aid, cold and flu, etc. are now in locked cabinets. You have to find an employee who has to go find a key, wait for them to come to the product area to open the locked door and get the product for you. They take it to a checkout register and hold it there until you check out your groceries. I'm going to find somewhere else to shop for groceries. read more

Both were involved with a conversation with another employee who was on his break. customers should come first. I like Albertsons and I live on the Eastside so I shop at Mt. Went to Albertson's on Mt. Vernon today to purchase their $5 special chicken tenders and potato wedges for dinner. They were completely out of the wedges and when I asked the deli manager if they were going to bring out more potato wedges, she informed me she didn't know if they were going to drop more in the fryer. Now tell me, what kind of service is that to a regular customer. And also from a manager?? Terrible!! read more

Short trip to grab a few things we needed for meals until a big Costco run next week. All things were easy to find, the store was as clean as always, and they had sirloin steaks for $2.88/lb, and grapes for $0.88/lb! I wish eggs were on sale too, but it is what it is. Only drawback was that at 8pm there was only one register open and 4 people in line. Otherwise, great quick trip. read more

Its a decent Albertsons! The bakery and produce  sections are always stocked with freshness whenever I go. The deli, meat& seafood counters are always clean, stocked and attractive. The shelves in all the isles are almost always stocked and always organized . The store is overall very clean and organized , Sometimes though, during there weekly  sales, they'll either run out of a major discounted item within the first day of the sale and will never restock or they never stock it at during the sale week to begin with. For example say the Tropicana orange juice is on sale for 1.50$ (major discount price), they will either sale out the first day of the sale or they'll never stock it on the shelf's at all. It happens at least once, every other shopping trip for at least one item, I understand because its a major discounted item that everyone is going to want one, I just feel they should restock that item throughout the week so its fair for all or limit every customer to how many they can buy in 1 transaction..... 99% of the staff is very friendly & helpful, from the cashiers to the people working the deli, bakery and meat&seafood counters. Even the occasional cart pusher or employee pushing a broom up and down the isles will smile and greet you . The prices however can be robbery! Non sale items are mostly expensive. For example using the Tropicana orange juice as an example again, on sale you can usually get it at 2.50-3.00$ , sometimes 2/4$ if its a major discounted price, not on sale, you'll usually pay 4.40-5$ , comparing that to Walmart , Foodsco or Foodmaxx is robbery lol. So I basically only come here for on sale items, there Just For you discounts are sweet too! Can really save a lot through that program, which is a private list of items tailored just to you based on past purchases with special savings prices and all u have to do to get it is just sign up with them on there website. They used to have a Starbucks but I just realized today its gone now. They have a nice floral section and you can rent carpet cleaners here too. read more

Albertsons Market on on Mt. Vernon Avenue, just north of the 178 Freeway. The Produce here is exceptional but pricey. They carry a great selection and many hard to find items like Asian radishes and vegetables. There is a bakery that makes fresh French bread daily, and does really good birthday cakes. Otherwise,m the baked goods there are average. There is a Deli there that just isn't good. I would only buy there if I had no other place to go. I think it is a matter of taste, though, because I almost always see a line at the counter. The meat section is expensive, but also well stocked and high quality. The actual butcher shop section always smells like old seafood and doesn't have a degree of cleanliness that is highly appealing. There are some really rude and nasty staff members there. This is why I often avoid the place. One young lady in particular is always unfriendly and impatient. I will provide the name if contacted by management. The unpleasantness exists only at the check out line and it is a 50/50 shot that you will get a great checker or a mean, nasty one. It is sad that only half the staff here seem to know what "Service with a smile" means. read more

Went in to buy a few items yesterday inuding some Lucerne Farms Coffee creamer. When I got home I noticed a small spot on my leather seat where the creamer was. When I opened the top it was all wet and apparently the foil seal was leaking. I called the store tonight prior to going back to exchange it and to buy some more items on their Friday sale. I spoke with someone who said I needed to come back in the morning and speak with the store manager since I didnt take my receipt the night before. I decided to go down any way with it and do my shopping and asked to speak with the night manager. It turns out Ray, the one I spoke to minutes prior was the manager. He said there was nothing he could do about it which pissed me off. I have been shopping at this store since their existance. I asked him if he was willing to lose a 30 year customer over a $2.99 bottle of creamer and he insisted there was nothing he could do. Either the store manager does not give their night managers the authority to make $3 decisions or he is lying to me. Either way it is Bullshit if this is where their customer service is. I pay extra to shop there instead of FoodMax or Wal Mart just for the better service. At least I used to. If this is what they now represent good riddance!! My daughter has a very hard time eating meat. Getting her to eat enough protein is sometimes a struggle. We bought a pre-made deli sandwich here on a whim. It was shaved turkey, so she didn't pick through looking for weird spots. She actually ate an entire sandwich for the first time in 7 years. So I go back to the deli occasionally to get that exact turkey, shaved. Usually the employees are very kind and helpful. Until this last time. There were 3 behind the counter employees. One was slicing some meat. Lily is the employee that "helped me". I said "hi, can I please get one pound of the pan roasted turkey, shaved?" She grabbed the turkey and stopped. She said "ok but it's going to be about 20-25 minutes". I had all of my children with me and had never heard that so I kind of had jumbled words but I asked if something had changed to make it take that long. She said "I don't do it by hand, it hurts my arm *pointing to the employee behind her* I use the machine. Shaving it takes a long time and it's hard on the machine" all the while looking at me and clearly wanting me to say never mind. Again there was an employee using the slicer by hand and clearly having no problem. He said nothing, Lily didn't offer to have him do it...just continued to stare at me with a blank face. I said ok...well I will come back by in about 15-20 min to see if it might be ready. She said nothing except a sigh, turned around and whispered some stuff to the other 2 employees. I wanted to leave and not get the meat, I wanted to apologize for needing it shaved. A customer shouldn't feel that way. I came back 15 min later and she (without a word) hands me the bag of meat. I said thank you, but again no reply. She didn't smile or utter a pleasant word the entire interaction. I have been back since and will not visit the deli if she is present. Today she was not and the lady working the deli counter was very busy but also very nice. She put the turkey on the "by hand" slicer and walked away. The machine shaved the pound of turkey in about 1 min all by itself. I have no idea why Lily did not want to help us, or if she hates her job or hates requests such as shaving the meat. I hope for the sake of future customers that may have textural issues, or just prefer their food a specific but easy to accommodate way, do not have to deal with Lily. Going in to a store wanting to spend money and go leave feeling like a huge inconvenience feels bad. read more

I have never experienced such an Albertsons with a rude cashier. Upon entering the store they didn't have a Electric wheelchair cart. Being on bedrest this wasn't going to be a fast trip with my slow body going through each aisle. I want to give the store a 2.5 rating. Really wish we could give halves. When we reached the register the cashier and bagger were super kind and friendly with the elderly Caucasian lady. She brought her bags. We forgot bags. When it was our turn she asked if we wanted bags. I said, "no thank you". (We have so many and we can manage I had help with loading) Diane a Hispanic lady in her late 30 early 40s was not friendly at all she didn't say anything else the entire time. She also had RBF and I understand we all have bad days, but it didn't make sense with having just seen her be so kind to another customer. I really hope my no bags comment didn't cause her to treat me differently. I might give them another try after my pregnancy. I don't want to risk them not having a cart for me. read more

We go to this Albertsons often. The staff is nice. The store is always clean and organized. They usually have what I'm looking for. Yes, their prices are a little more than other grocery stores but I'll pay the price to have less people in there, better service and an overall better experience will grocery shopping. read more

I shop here and find it hard to ever come across good quality broccoli or kale. It's always super limp. Not crisp at all. You can also often find spoiled deli meats and spoiled fruits which I don't understand how employees can over look these items that are in plain sight. A lot of the younger staff are so unpleasant to come in contact with. They don't greet you and say hello nor do they even smile half the time. You thank them for bagging your groceries AKA doing their job, and all you get is a grumpy blank look on their face. Why keep people employed if they don't value their job? I'm sure someone with better customer service would like to take their spot. read more

If you are going to be overcharged for groceries, you'd hope you at least get through the lines fairly quick. Nope. Crappy service, with the exception of some checkers that have been there for years. Gentleman at the customer service desk was taking people from the back of the express line, completely ignoring people in the front of the line. The fried chicken & potato wedges tasted like lighter fluid, a nasty burnt taste without actually being burnt. Not sure if oil isn't being changed or something was burnt in the deep fryer but it was inedible, disgusting and disappointing. If you catch Laurie and Irene at the register consider yourself fortunate. They seem to be the only ones that make an effort to be friendly. The store is well stocked but I have had issues with having to take back moldy produce. I can never understand how you can advertise meat on sale and the next day you show up 2 hours after the opening of the store and the glass meat case is not completely stocked. read more

I really wish yelp would let you give half star ratings because I feel this store is a 3.5 start place. not quite a 4 star store and not really a 3 star either. but due to the fact that I really only come here when I HAVE to...I rounded down. Pros: it's clean...compared to other places in the area like Foodsco (help meeeee) and Walmart (the horror). It's pretty much the only grocery store on the north east that has class. I guess target does too but their grocery section is so small....anywyas. They also have great baked and rotisserie chicken!! Another plus is their floral section which is my go to spot for all those special occasions like mother's day and valentines day. cons: it's freaking pricey ....something that costs 89 cents at wal mart is like 1.68 here. You really can't buy anything cheaply here. But I guess they pay their employees well and take care of them...or at least I hope they do if that's why the prices are so much higher. also, you do get a snooty crowd in here at times. Those...kate plus 8 type ladies ...who always want to challenge the price or get pissy if they have to wait more than 1 minute in line. that's not the stores fault but that's why I live in in the NE so I don't have to deal with those rosedaleans. read more

So you are reading a review about a grocery store... Your life sure didn't end up where you expected, did it? :-) Joking aside, I like Albertsons (or any grocery store) that tries to maintain a a clean and welcoming environment. It's a little something I like to call non-ghetto. Clean and welcoming goes a long way for me and is a definitely a plus. The cons however should also be addressed. First off is the prices. There are other grocery stores in town that are cheaper but they don't exude the clean and welcoming aspect that i like. And the biggest problem of all with this joint is the in the far back corner... You don't need to go back to there know you are close... Because the smell of fish and/or shrimp will overwhelm you long before you make it that far. Seriously, I like this store but I will plan my shopping based on location of product. If I need to go back to that part of the store, I will just wait until my next shopping trip at a different store. Meh. read more

I have had to shop here a few times for work as we offer cookies and soda and other incentives for business and this is the closest grocery store to my office. It's really a hit and miss kind of place. It's a clean and well stocked store that has everything you need and I love that I can use my Safeway card here as Albertsons now owns Safeway and Vons but the cashiers and service are really my biggest issue with this store. The cashier in the Express lane Jonathan was very friendly but Dee the service supervisor was very rude didn't even greet me. So service is hit and miss and I would say the biggest issue I have with this store, but it is a well kept store and it has at least one friendly employee so for every miss there is a hit. They also have excellent prices on soft drinks in mini cans. read more

Albertson's is not bad at all, especially for packaged stuff. The prices are a little high for stuff like spices ($6 a tiny bottle of spices), but otherwise the prices are normal. Their seafood section is nice and the people working there are great. My big gripe: The vegetable area has a misting spray. This is horrible! 1. The vegetables soak up this water and go bad a lot quicker. (Not to mention it weighs more so it costs more). My vegetables from Albertsons will go bad in ~3 days. If I buy from Costco, it keeps for about 5-12 days. Same with Vallarta (5-14 days). I only buy vegetables from Albertsons if I will cook it the same day or the next day. 2. The napa cabbage is bitter 3/4 times. Ugh. The napa cabbage at Vallarta, Chinese market, and Green frog never have this issue. 3. The ginger is $5.99 a pound--absurd! Other markets = $0.69 a pound. read more
