In the Woodhaven area, options are limited. You have an inconveniently located Wal-Mart down on Eastchase, a few Cash N' Carry gas stations, quite a few Dollar Stores... But full grocery?... Albertson's is your best bet. Everytime I walk in, usually in the early morning hours to buy flowers or coffee for my office, I feel the vibe that radiates the best of Eastside Fort Worth. A friendliness that embodies the status of the area. The area where I spend my days laboring. This store is an Albertsons indeed, though it capitalizes on Albertsons strength of having specialized items. $20 for 80 K-Cups? Got it. 4 tables of assorted clearances? Got it. A nice organic selection? Got it. I will always have a heart for this store - he only Albertsons I shop at.

7/30/23-I just left Albertsons about 10 minutes ago. I went there to use a loyalty points app that I've used before. The last time I was there, I also used the app. And when I left the store without making a purchase, the light went off as I exited the store. I was told by the security guard on duty (an officer in uniform) that the light goes off if people leave and don't make a purchase. I guess it must go off a lot, because people regularly go into grocery stores where they might change their mind about making a purchase for various reasons. But I digress... This light and siren went off again as I exited the store, without buying anything but scanning a few items. And the security guard working there this time (not apparently an officer) didn't initially say anything as I prepared to leave again. He eventually made his way over and asked me if everything was okay in a non-menacing tone. I replied with "yes," or something, and proceeded to gather my bags and exit. But before I did, I asked if the light went off because of me (just for clarity). I was trying to get an answer about whether somebody pressed a button for the light to go off or if the store uses some sort of technology that actually tracks people who don't make a purchase. Because, like I said...it must be more than a few people throughout the day who go to the store and leave without making a purchase. After I asked him that a couple of times to nonsensical replies, he finally said that he's not at liberty to tell me that information. And I was like "welp...okay" before leaving.  Therefore, I'm putting this review up to recount about another experience that doesn't reflect the more positive experiences I've had at this store before lately. I'm still the same person; I still look the same (scruffy and sunburnt); I still carry myself the same way (cordial and pleasant enough), but something in the matrix, if you will, is changing to create these kind of experiences. In the past I've been here several times before where I've used the restroom or browsed without actually paying for anything in the end. That is, whether I've haven't or *have*had money but didn't purchase anything. That light has never gone off until the last couple of times of me being there. So, I don't know what to make of it. If somebody is manually pressing the button, I give that the side eye. Because, if they're watching me on camera to press that button, then they should see that I didn't take anything and don't take anything without paying for it. That's all. Sidenote: I'm sorry I forgot to take a picture. But here's an app screenshot.

Albertsons is a fine grocery store to buy all your food needs. Been an Albertsons shopper for many years and this store is a fine store. Clean and has a lot of items to buy. From the fruits and vegetable area which is large with nice fresh looking food to the bakery which has very good bread. I mostly just come here when they have an item on sale. Or if I need a quick stop to grad something. The checkout lines are not too long and they seem to have plenty of help. Service is ok not the best.

OMG! The best ribs in town and the meat will fall of the bone as soon as you pick it up!

No, it isn't HEB, or WholeFoods, but they aren't as pricey either.

The young lady stated they were having a grand-reopening. The store was organized and completely full by 6:30 am. Many items were on sale. In the last 6 months however, it has gone so downhill that I won't go back. They no longer have cashiers to check you out, everything is self checkout. The young people working there are put out by having to constantly come scan their cards to allow shoppers to proceed checking out because the machines are always glitching out or shutting down. The store is dirty and they don't carry plastic bags anymore. The paper bags they use don't have handles so coming up 4 flights of stairs to get them home is a fiasco. Everything has become cheap, dirty and robotic in an effort to cut costs and labor. It's unfortunate.

On my way to work I stopped in quickly to stock our community fridge with Seagram Ginger Ale, division of Coca Cola. Publix weekly ad listed Coca Cola products 2 for 2, 6 pack bottles, mini cans and 8 packs of 16oz. I have been purchasing this special almost weekly and it always shows up on my 'just for you' list when offered, as it did this morning when I checked the new weekly ad. I went into the store, rather hurried, went to the customer service register and as approaching mentioning how happy I was with Publix always having Seagrams Ginger ale in some kind of special. As the associate rings my purchase, she said 'you must be mistaken, Ginger ale is never on 2 for 2' I said, well it is marked and advertised as 2 for 2 ALL Coca Cola products. She said, 'Never on Ginger ale' and walked with me to the aisle, where the sale was clearly marked ALL Coca Cola products. I had just purchased this exact sale, 2 weeks ago. I left extremely angry, returned to the parking lot and googled Seagrams. They were purchased by Coca Cola in 2002. I went back into the store to witness the associate relaying our interaction to her manager, as she saw my reentering, approaching the manager, she picked up the Ginger Ale and walked it back to the soda aisle. The manager did confirm that I was correct and that Seagrams was indeed a division of Coca Cola and part of the advertised sale. The associate in question, still within ear shot of this interaction, continued to replace the items to the shelf, ignoring me and her manager. I know this is just about soda on sale, but the attitude and refusal to even refer to a manager or fellow associate, all within a few feet of this interaction, it the issue. The manager was extremely apologetic and offered to review the situation with the associate as a training opportunity, however, for me, the damage was done.

Is this for real? A real publix anywhere in DFW would make a killing. They out the krogers and Tom…read moreThumbs to shame!
