There is no self checkout and often only one register open. I understand the need to employ elderly who can't afford retirement yet, but your customers and elderly staff should not have to suffer like this. I mean a line with five carts deep with an 85 year old feeble old man trying to keep up with frustrated customers . It's the equivalent of forcing a 6 years old to do heavy lifting. On Friday at 9:53 PM I attempted to enter this store. I was stopped at the entrance by Bert. Who closed the glass doors in front of me and said through the door we are closed. I showed him the time on the screen of my phone through the glass showed 9:53pm, he said he didn't care. I showed him that the store hours on my phone through the glass that showed that it wasn't supposed to close until 10pm. I told him through the glass I only needed to get 1 item for my son who wasn't feeling well and I could be in and out of the store before the scheduled closing time of 10 pm. He said "I don't care the store is closed". This is no way to treat a customer under any circumstance. Please Do Better Albertsons. This is unacceptable. read more

I stopped by this Albertsons, since my usual store near Mile Square Park ran out of the one item I was looking for. This Albertsons is located in a much busier shopping center off of Brookhurst/Ellis. My first impression walking in was how much darker it seemed compared to the Albertsons off Brookhurst/Edinger (across from Mile Square Park). A few of the aisles were noticeably darker - like the chips aisle, or the OTC medication aisle near the pharmacy. I like the lighting in my usual Albertsons, since it's bright and cheerful - makes it easier to read labels, and puts you in a better mood overall - even if you're shopping at the end of the day cuz you just got off your late shift. I feel the opposite walking down the aisles at this particular Albertsons. There were only two staffed checkout lanes - and unlike the Brookhurst/Edinger Albertsons - there were no self checkout lanes here. At least they did end up having the particular brand of chips and flavor that I wanted - that the other location lacked. read more

I work near this store and its my only option for lunch most days. I was hoping they'd improve over time but alas no such luck. This store is so understaffed. The register lines take FOREVER. And it usually has nothing to do with the cashier speed. Don't even bother coming here around 1 or 5 pm you'll be waiting absolutely forever. This is not a quick run in and grab that one thing market. The biggest issue I have though is not the long lines. Every single time I come in here I find expired food still on the shelf. Check every single date on every single thing you buy here. Many of my co-workers have bought things and had to go return them because they are expired. There are some really awesome people working here and its such a shame this location is such a disaster. They deserve better and so do you. Do yourself a favor and go to the Ralphs across the street if you can. read more

Some personnel is OK but some - well, I just want to get my stuff and get out quickly. Fresh bakery department is extremely unreliable. Just wanted to share my shopping experience at this Albertsons location in particular. The young manager lady with the brown hair I can't think of her name, but she is always very rude. Always short tempered and very serious. Just tonight checking out. I forgot to use my app and click the coupon. She was bagging helping the checker. There was only one lane open. So when she rang me up, it was full price. I asked her isn't it supposed to be by to get two for free ? This is on the 12 pack soda. Great deal by the way. She asked me if I clipped my coupon in which case I said oh no, I forgot. The young manager lady who was bagging at the time, smirked and did a small cough noise and said I hate when they do that it holds up the line. Very loudly so that everybody can hear when it was obvious she was talking about me. Then she went to the other lane and said I'll take the next customer If you wanna go to Albertsons, as you can see in all of the yelp reviews, try not to go to this one. Popped in to use the DMV kiosk, which is hidden all the way at the end of the cash registers. I honestly haven't been in a supermarket in a while, well before Covid. While we were there we thought we'd pick up a few things, but ultimately we didn't because it would have cost more than getting it delivered from Sam's or Costco, let alone going inside. But everything was clean, organized, and there were smaller portion sizes. The deli looked ok, the fried chicken was looking awfully sad. A deli is a plus, but this deli isn't one I'd rave about. They also have other things inside, like a Starbucks. If you need a supermarket, you definitely could do worse. But with today's wages not keeping up with inflation, it's hard to justify shopping there unless you're single, living in a dorm, and buy your peanuts in single packs because a package of 2 peanuts doesn't fit in your pantry. read more

This Albertson's was discovered when driving around a few blocks looking for a drug store or supermarket to pick up cold drinks for an upcoming gathering in Fountain Valley. The parking lot is a bit congested but once inside the store, things were easy to find except for the restrooms (located in the back of the store on the far right corner). Prices are very reasonable and finding a cashier was easy. The touch style keypad was not working when paying with a credit card but I didn't mind inserting the card into the machine instead. read more

It takes them forever to get a refund for groceries you didn't pick up it's been way over 5-7 business days still no refund. Definitely not getting groceries here again. 9/25 Going on 13 plus days still no refund, the only messages I receive back from the company says I still have to wait additional days. 10/05 update I finally received my refund that was supposedly issued on 9/09 i had to send numerous emails and phone calls almost everyday. read more

Got the dreyers coffee and chocolate peanut butter ice creams! Both were super smooth and tasty! The coffee was very potent and had the just right amount of sweetness and the peanut butter had reeses cups on it with loaded chocolate ice cream! So yummy! read more

Between the friendly folks, working there, and a great selection of good food, including the wonderful sushi chef, I've come to really enjoy going shopping. There is always something interesting to grab. And as a photographer, I love finding interesting shapes and perspectives in the food or items on sale and it's nice that the employees don't bother me as I am shooting. I did the grocery order from the app. I input on the app that I was on my way 20 minutes prior to getting there hoping my groceries would be loaded up and ready to bring out to my car. I just happened to be in a hurry today. When I got there, there were no numbers for the spots. I put in my car description and that I was in the parking lot ready to have my groceries brought out, I opened my trunk hoping it would help them find my car easier. I sat and waited for about 15 or so minutes, then had to close up my car and go in the store because no one had brought them out. The girl with long brown hair, that supposedly was the manager hardly acknowledged my existence when I came in. I had to wait for her to finished casually chit chatting to another employee before she would acknowledge my existence. I told her I had been waiting outside, but no one came out. Then she used her walkie to tell someone my name and then just said to wait where I was. No apologies that the convenience of ordering ahead of time and having the groceries brought out to the car was totally wasted. I stood there for another 10 minutes waiting completely unsure if anyone was going to actually bring the groceries out to me even standing there in the store. It would have been faster for me to just have shopped there at this point. After having to wait again, I asked a kid if I could speak to the manager and he pointed at the rude lady who had previously gsve a sliver of acknowledgement. She must have gone on her walkie again, and then came back with information that two different employees were supposed to have brought out my groceries. Finally a man came out with my groceries. He was the only person to briefly apologize. He then gave the grocery cart to a kid who awkwardly brought them out to my car with me walking along side of him. I will never do grocery pick up at this store again. I felt uncomfortable because the initial lady could seriously not care in the least about the inconvenience this created. It made me feel like the jerk fornusing their app and service, like I was putting them out for doing it. If I did my job the way she did, I would be fired. This was a completely unfriendly and unnecessary experience to create for your customer. Some kind of genuine apology and recognizable effort to try to make the situation right would have been appreciated and gone a long ways. read more

I ordered a specialty cake, cupcakes, veggie platters, and fruit platters for a birthday party from here. Birthday cake- was phenomenal. The cake decorator blew me away with how beautifully decorated my cake was. I gave her a general "under the sea" theme and she gave me a whole underwater landscape! It was awesome. Cupcakes- were beautiful! The kids loved it. Cake decorator- I was able to spend a good amount of time talking with her and I apologize for not remembering her name. But she offered a lot of great ideas and suggestions. I appreciated it. The party platters were perfect and the staff helped me get everything to my car. Customer service was top-notch. read more

The many times that I've gotten a rude attitude w the employees & manager here, I've told myself that maybe they're having a bad day. But today was my last straw. The first incident was a late night stop to get a few groceries. Items were being checked out + I asked a simple question but the cashier girls were too busy gossiping among themselves. Even while repeating the question, they gave me a side eye and my cashier asked me to speak louder w/ a rude tone like some school bully scene. I thought it was disrespectful of them bc after all, this is their job. It's not my fault for asking a simple question, maybe try talking after you've finished taking care of a customer? I even took a picture of the specific girl that gave me attitude but it's okie I don't want her to get fired. The recent incident was today, the last straw. Items were being checked out like last time. But this time w/ a white lady, super tall maybe in her late 40s, wearing a dark gray shirt. I was swiping + following the check out screen just fine. I've done this many times and I've lived here long enough to read English well. All of a sudden, the checkout didn't go through. I believe it was her register machine glitching because I had just went to the gas station & the card worked just fine. But the way she responded was so rude, I felt so belittled by this woman. When it was not getting approved, I had asked her a simple question about what happened. But she said to follow the instructions w/ such an attitude and I rlly wanted to say that I was doing everything correctly. But I didn't want to cause a scene bc I don't know how crazy the situation would escalate. But pls!!!! I even put in my phone number for future points, (of course ma'm I read the screen, how else am I going to check out?!?). Maybe she thought that smthg was wrong w my card. But seriously just because I'm younger than you or whatever factor doesn't mean I don't know anything. Communicate better with some kindness, maybe the job sucks but doesn't mean you should project it onto customers who meant well. Other than that my favorite ppl here are the bakers, rlly kind and give clear directions. Also their mini chocolate chip cookies are the perfect chewy cookies ever! So let me just start out from a guy who has shopped Albertsons since grade school with mom. Who has recently passed. I can say that certainly there's been ups and downs in management . However let me tell you about the Deli for the last 2 years I believe. Certain persons at certain times will suddenly cross your path and soon enough you will find out this certain person will go above and beyond for customers. I'm talking about Meatloaf!! Anti-pasta and Spicey Wings that are Smokin good!!!!!! Just the Tops!!! I sat thank you for being a team leader and knowing your customers!!! I'm especially impressed by the employee at the prepared food counter. Yesterday evening, he offered, as always, prompt and friendly customer service. My wife, son and I like the fried chicken because it is fresh and tasty, without being too greasy. They advertise lobster tails specials $3.99 each 3oz each. I ordered online through the Albertsons' App, paid and they scheduled for pickup, on the pickup day they canceled my order stated out if stocks. Many of people I know also got screwed with Albertsons' false advertisement. Either their inventory system is bad or they are their advertising is false. My Christmas dinner plans was ruined due to their lack of inventory. I would not trust their ads again. read more

I was at Albertson on 18579 Brookhurst in Fountain Valley this afternoon (5/5/23). I ran into a situation that somewhat bothers me. I was waiting on line behind a white person. The Cashier, her name is Jennifer, greeted that white person in a very friendly manner. She even said thank you and have a nice day when done with that customer. When I approached Jennifer she didn't bother looking at me, she didn't say a single word to me until she told me the price. She handed me the receipt without looking at me as she was busy talking with the grocery bagger about personal stuff. I was never treated that way by a cashier at any grocery stores. I am Asian so perhaps that how I was treated by this cashier. I have to think twice before walking into this Albertson again read more

Went here to do my usual shopping and bought ground beef for my meatloaf. Hit home and looked at the expiration date on the two pound ground beef. It was expired two weeks from today. Got back in my car and wasted more gas to exchange for another one and found most of them are expired. Found one that almost will expire. But exchanged it anyway since I will be using it this week. Be careful folks, check the expiration dates. They try to get away with it. Think I will be going to another grocery store. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The entire store is so understaffed to the point where it takes 20 minutes + to do ANYTHING there. Almost all of their food is expired and is never rotated. I've had countless experiences where the products I pick up to buy are visibly expired. Many meat products will be bloated and rancid, the milk will be way past date, the drinks are all expired, the bread is stale, and so many other products are completely inedible. This is obviously extremely unprofessional and disgusting, but what I think is the worst is how they'll have maximum 2 register lines open no matter how many customers are waiting. I've gone in on my work break and have had to put down my items in line and walk out multiple times because I genuinely have run out of time because of how long it takes this Albertsons to do anything. No matter how many customers are waiting, they will NEVER open another lane. Whenever they call for someone to help cashier, no one comes. The lines will go far down the aisles with no rush to help people get in and get out at all. When we complain about the long lines, the workers will cop an attitude and will genuinely yell at you. Jerry the cashier decided it was a good idea to tell everyone he would "cough on all of their items" and literally SCREAMED at us to come to his lane. No joke. Never go to this Albertsons. The carts are triggered to lock very near the store entrance. Once you fill a cart, you can't get to your car, so how can we shop here?

I returned something with a receipt. Let alone I bought the items less than 2 days. They did not give me the amount of what I purchased when I looked at the returned receipt. The guy that I talked to was very rude to me while I asked an appropriate question, and I actually asked nicely. And yes, I know they are busy, but can they answer a customer nicely instead of being an asshole. Now I have to go to a different Albertson's location. I want to come here to the Fountain Valley location because it's the closest one to me. But I guess I have to go somewhere far away from me. They need to learn Customer Service 101. read more

What a dumpy-ass store!! From the moment I entered, my view walking down the aisle was of someone being pushed in a chair who was worthy of being on My 600lb Life. My second view at checkout was a dirty-ass man with his pants falling off his ass and his emo dog in the cart. Lastly, the fried chicken I got from the deli is not edible. It's been sitting under the heat lamp for who knows how long. It's burnt and dried up. Disgusting. The clerk could use an attitude adjustment as well. This is the first time I reviewed a place that is not a restaurant so I hope this is helpful for any yelpers out there. Facility: Not as large as other Albertsons like the one on Brookhurst and Edinger but it has a more friendly vibe to it being slightly smaller. The store is very clean, bright and stocked. The produce section has fresh veggies and sometimes even has good deals on their fruits. The Deli has lots of good choices for quick meals and tons of bread. The alcohol section is right in the front when you first enter and it's huge! If you're having a BBQ or a party, this store has you hooked up. As for me, I was occupied by the ice cream section. There is a deal if you get 4 small cups for $5 on the Haagen Dazs Mango or Raspberry Sorbet. It's so cute and the perfect snack size where you don't over do the dessert. I love it! In the juice section, there's also single serving size juice bottles which make packing lunch for work so easy. Service: The staff here has been pretty helpful when I get lost trying to find certain products. For example, I was looking for large marshmallows for a bonfire and walked the whole store. I finally asked someone in the meat department and they were kind enough to walk me to the marshmallows and even pointed out the ones on sale, colorful ones or cute tiny ones. There are other helpful moments but I'll keep it simple by saying the staff has been helpful when needed. Overall Determination: I like to scope out a place a few times before leaving a review to make sure the first experience isn't a fluke. I have been shopping here every few months for over a year now so that means they've been doing things right to keep me coming back. In some respects Alberstons may not be the cheapest* but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the personal service and acknowledgment I receive each time I shop. I'd like to give a shout out to: Jerry and Becky, in particular, and so many others. When I don't have a receipt to return a product or would like to have the store order a product these two have always helped me! Why? They recognize me because I shop at their store. That is really important to me. You will always find a store manager in one of the many aisles looking to make sure the store is in order and customers are assisted. Pharmacy: The initial reason I started shopping at Albertsons. Each and every pharmacist, and their employees, have always gone above and beyond! I'm sold. read more

I used to shop at the Albertsons all the time... I couldnt remember why I stopped until I went in there again a week or two ago - and they had nothing that I was looking for. I ended up putting my basket down and leaving the store. The last few times I had been in the store, the staff was not very friendly. I love when I ask someone how they are and they just look at me, then go back to what they are doing without responding. I go to Ralphs in the next shopping center and find everything I need... not always less attitude, but they have more of a selection :) read more
