Same product. One clearly not good.

I work near this store and its my only option for lunch most days. I was hoping they'd improve over time but alas no such luck. This store is so understaffed. The register lines take FOREVER. And it usually has nothing to do with the cashier speed. Don't even bother coming here around 1 or 5 pm you'll be waiting absolutely forever. This is not a quick run in and grab that one thing market. The biggest issue I have though is not the long lines. Every single time I come in here I find expired food still on the shelf. Check every single date on every single thing you buy here. Many of my co-workers have bought things and had to go return them because they are expired. There are some really awesome people working here and its such a shame this location is such a disaster. They deserve better and so do you. Do yourself a favor and go to the Ralphs across the street if you can.

The review is for the bakery area. We ordered a birthday cake from here and the service was great. Lots of ready-made baked goods as well.

This Albertson's was discovered when driving around a few blocks looking for a drug store or supermarket to pick up cold drinks for an upcoming gathering in Fountain Valley. The parking lot is a bit congested but once inside the store, things were easy to find except for the restrooms (located in the back of the store on the far right corner). Prices are very reasonable and finding a cashier was easy. The touch style keypad was not working when paying with a credit card but I didn't mind inserting the card into the machine instead.

Got the dreyers coffee and chocolate peanut butter ice creams! Both were super smooth and tasty! The coffee was very potent and had the just right amount of sweetness and the peanut butter had reeses cups on it with loaded chocolate ice cream! So yummy!

Birthday cake! So blown away by how beautifully decorated this was.

The carts are triggered to lock very near the store entrance. Once you fill a cart, you can't get to your car, so how can we shop here?

The store itself is smaller if you compare it with places like Shun Fat Westminster Superstore or Hòa Bình supermarket. There is only one checkout counter and the staff all seem to be Vietnamese. After walking around, they pretty much have all the basics covered. The focus is Vietnamese and Southeast Asian ingredients and sauces. They have their own seafood and meat counter with number tags where you can ask them to clean or cut fish, plus a small deli to go section. I also noticed their delivery vehicle outside that says wholesale, so it seems like they also supply restaurants in the area. Overall it feels like a neighborhood market that also does some wholesale business. The fresh section looked clean and there was no strong smell. I happened to see ground pork on sale for $2.49 per pound. The regular price was $2.79. Of course I had just paid $3.99 per pound earlier that day at 99 Ranch in Irvine because I wanted convenience. While we were there, a Vietnamese lady next to us was buying a big pile of meat and seafood and chatting with us while waiting for it to be cut. She said she always shops here. She ended up buying the last of the ground pork in the display. We asked if there was any left and the butcher said he had more in the back, so we immediately decided to grab two pounds. I think this place is perfect if you do not want to push a cart around a huge store and just need to pick up a few items quickly. They are open until 8pm. Next time I have more time I will come back and explore a bit more to see what other interesting things they carry. Inside, it has a decent selection of items. I didn't notice that usual strong fishy smell you sometimes get in Vietnamese markets from seafood or raw meat, so it felt fairly clean and well maintained. Seafood and meats looked fresh, but prices are higher compared to other Asian markets. The produce section looked fresh as well, just on the expensive side. There is a small prepared food section in the front for quick takeout. Even with the higher prices, it's still a convenient place to shop. Not too big, easy to get in and out, and you can find most basic things you need.

My German husband was ecstatic when Aldi opened in OC, they have 2 stores, in FV and in GG. When it 1st opened there was a section w a lot of German wursts, strudel and some frozen food directly from Germany and at a discount from Traders Joe. Aldi now advertises daily on Foxnews, it is well known and is flourishing but unfortunately the German section is gone, occasionally they would have spaetle , strudel but we don't see any wurst, my husband has to go to Old World village for all the German cold cuts. It is true everything is cheaper at Aldi, the eggs were insanely cheap, $1.29 to $1.39 per carton. Bananas we buy weekly, I have 3 banana trees but mine are the VN varieties I used to love but now I give most to my neighbors, I prefer the Chiquita Bananas. Ice cream Ben and jerry and Hagen Daz were always on sale. I recently bought a pair of real leather sheepskin slippers for $14.95 , I really don't know how they can sell everything so cheap. They also stock table cloths, plastic ones you can clean them, I have so many beautiful table cloths but who has time to wash them? they used to sell them in Bed, bath and beyond but they are nowhere to be found after BBB went out of business. To be clear, they don't have everything like in a normal supermarket but what they have nobody can sell cheaper, their produce dept was always well stocked and fresh w an amazing discount. Its a blessing in this environment to have a place to shop and not having to get a mortgage to pay for your groceries!!
