Why does this place smell like piss, shit and vomit? And who decides to crank the music overhead up so high? I wouldn't mind the music at say a bar or restaurant, but at a grocery store it's just weird. Checkouts are tightly packed and a little claustrophobic. They hire mostly oddball workers. Bought 3 cartons of Hatch Chili's at inflated price of $45/each. Found ~30% of each case bruised and rotting. Spoke with night manager (Dave) about my experience and suggested removal of the remaining cartons from the floor. Expected a conversation with the store manager but no call back. Decent selection. Definitely need more help up front. Long lines and only self checkout and 1 lane open. Staff are nice when you see them. They usually have what I need. They even have a decent gluten free section. In my opinion, out of the grocery stores in town, this one is the best. read more

I have shopped at Albertson's for years. The Taos store has ample parking and the employee's do the best that they can in a very busy environment. I was in the other day and their rewards program was not working. I spent $233 and did not receive any points and was told that if I went to the service desk once it was fixed that I would not be provided with my points. Also, since the program was down I did not receive any of the coupons I had chosen. I would like to see an alternative to receiving the discounts and points when the system is down. Also, I was in yesterday and 2 of the 5 items that I had chosen discounts for where not given. I wish you would just go back to old fashioned paper coupons. read more

I love Streetside, Albertson's grocery pickup service. The gentleman who seems to always handle my grocery order puts thought into replacements, fills my orders on time, and delivers the groceries to my car with a smile. It's his attention to detail that causes me to use this over the other grocery stores in town. The quality of the produce is also good. The only down side is that regular shoppers often park in the Grocery Pickup spaces. When this happens I simply call the store and let them know where I've parked. read more

I went to the deli and asked for a chicken dinner. I was served two of the smallest pieces that I ever seen. Before I got to the cash register I noticed that the dinner was mislabeled and priced a 113% more than the sign said. When I approached the deli manager, she said that prices went up. When I told her that state and federal consumer protection laws stated that she had to give me the advertised price, she told me that I was lying. Then then got out of behind the counter and into my personal space. She started actually yelling at me and insulting me. I was afraid that she was going to physically attack me. I went to the front of the store and asked to speak to the store manager. After a long wait, he came down and told me in a loud voice so other customers could easily hear, that I said things to the deli manager that I didn't say. This goes way beyond bad customer service. They violated state and federal consumer protection laws and then used intimidation to get me to drop the issue. I contacted corporate and computer, they said their boss would contact me but they never did. read more

Pretty disappointed with this location, I'm in town working the Calf fire..,I was getting tired of eating bad food and decided to stop and grab some stuff from the store. Tried the deli for something healthy and was turned away after being told the deli counter closed at 3pm it was 315pm...I've shopped at Albertsons for years and have never seen the deli close so early ...What a joke.. Normally I liked going to this store but today was my last straw. Even though I always have a good experience at the pharmacy I try to do all my shopping here. But today I made the biggest mistake, I visited the deli. If you want rude and unprofessional employees, visit the deli. They love to ignore and pretend that the customers don't exist. Living in Ranchos, this place was close and has a burgeoning organic selection of fruits and veggies. I liked shopping here. But something happened about 3 months ago- I haven't found a single piece of fruit or veggie that has any taste! Heirloom tomatoes taste like mush, Apples are soft, crunch-less and characterless, organic carrots are so desiccated, it takes 3 pounds for a glass of juice. The organic celery and romaine lettuce are good for 6 hours then they're getting soft, limp and are beginning to taste oxidized and rotten. And once I get the food home? It all goes off so fast. I have the new opinion we are on the end of the long line of Albertson's deliveries and that this outpost must now be taking delivery of the last food still left on the wholesale trucks? Come on, Albertson's, get it together cuz until you do? I'm shopping elsewhere... read more

Consistantly food from any of there refrigerators is freezer burnt. On average there will be only one cashier on duty that is too busy gossiping with peers or relatives. I have often left when standing in the only line for 20 minutes. Only upshot is they have fewer aggressive panhandlers in the parking lot than Smith's. Decent prices and decent selection. That why they are getting 2 stars. I've been in there multiple times when warm air is being blown on the meat and it has a gross smell. They recently remodeled and I thought the meat issue would clear up- it hasn't. I bought some steaks 2 days ago and none of them were edible. Their meat is bad. I'm lucky to get it home without it turning brownish, and within 24 hours its oxidized. (I keep my fridge extra cold too...) I just cooked up a pound of ground meat that I bought 2 days ago, and my whole house smells like bad meat. When they do have organic meat, it tends to sell quickly, so thankfully I know that if I'm able to snag some, it hasn't been there long enough to go bad. Their butter prices are really horrendous. I have never had any issue here and I come here for all of my groceries. I love their wide selection fresh produce, various premade foods, and clean, organized isles. There is also a Starbucks inside for some caffeine for your shopping. I definitely suggest this to anyone in the Taos area. read more

I've seen some negative reviews on the Taos Albertson's but i think that they are outdated. The last year and a half the improvement has been hundred fold - their store is clean, the staff is friendly, knowledged and helpful. Seafood and meat dept freshly stocked and clean, produce fresh and well displayed. Their sale prices are especially good. They have increased the overall variety of products. read more

Their selection is fine The deli and bakery are lovely. And there is one gal in particular at the self-check out lane, Rebecca, who goes out of her way to help everyone in her lanes. NOT coupon friendly! I have been trying for months to get a copy of the coupon policy they show me a small printed statement at cash register. The checkers don't know the details and they all have different ideas of policy. A couple of months ago I saw a checker tear up a coupon they would not except but could have been used at another store. I felt like they were stealing from the lady. read more
