The best fudge & truffles you want to put in your mouth with a kid in the candy store array of decadence to choose from. I found a Scooby Doo monopoly board w/2015 trademark that made my husband's day..month..year... They have an assortment of souveniers to pick from almost as good (not quite) as the fudge. My vacation in Red River cannot end without some for now and later. My husband has to have sugar-free. I tasted it and could tell no difference, it was delicious. Sadly, I lost all my fudge and 2 shirts I bought. The bright thought is the do ship for on-line orders. Yes it is pricey but worth every cent. Since I lost my haul from my trip this week, I will look at a on-line order. The staff is friendly (and patient with the customer looking at all those trays of goodness trying to decide which truffle (I can recommend wedding cake and dark chocolate) fudge like Rocky Road, Maple w/walnuts, peanut butter chocolate, traditional chocolate.............as I said I am pretty down losing my haul I bought on Sunday and after 2 day drive found I lost it between Sunday and getting in car on Monday read more

Very nice candy store in the heart of Red River's main road. I stopped in just to look around and was thoroughly impressed with their selection of candy and other souvenir and novelty items in the shop. I tried their milk chocolate walnut and milk chocolate almond fudge flavors; I ordered a pound of fudge and got another 1/4 pound of the cinna-swirl flavor fudge for free. The cinna-swirl was my favorite of the bunch. I was hoping the milk chocolate ones would be richer than they ended up being, but they were still very tasty. The white chocolate almond clusters were delicious. I will be sure to stop by again next time I'm in the area. read more

I received 2 gifts cards totaling $80 as part of a silent auction package I purchased at a fundraiser. Was in town for just the day and was excited to try the fudge. I showed the gift cards to the gal at the counter and after I selected my fudge and went to pay, I was told they were not accepting gift cards at this time. Horrible customer service. The guy that works here is very rude! The store is up for sale and you would think they would try and satisfy customers. The guy was very rude and kicked my friend out for having his nose "not fully covered." There was another lady customer in line with her mask in the same manner and he didn't tell her a thing. Of course she was white and my friend is Hispanic from NM. This is a racist store that does not deserve your business!! Stay away and let them close ! read more

They had so many different Amish popcorn gifts. The candy options were remarkable. My husband and I visited twice on our 4 day vacation. My favorite was the chili peanut brittle. Very unique. The wonderful lady that helped us was so kind. I would return, just because of her kindness. The gift options in the store were impressive as well. A really good place to visit!! read more

I was on a tour of the "Enchanted Ciricle" in New Mexico, a tour of the mountain towns of northern new mexico. We had stopped at eagles nest for some fishing, and went onto red river to do some excursions . This place was amazing. Red River in itself is a very charming little town. But this place had so much fudge and candy that was made in house, they had free samples, all the little kids there were just like...kids in a candy store! HA ha! But it was amazing how many varietys they had. It was hard not to spend too much, we walked out with enough fudge for the whole trip plus family back home. If you have to have a sweet tooth , this is the place to go. Plus the staff is super friendly to boot. read more

Even if you are not a candy lover, indulge the inner-child in you and take a step inside! You'll find candy like Razzles and Bottlecaps from your childhood that you might just want to buy for nostalgia sake. Then there's the homemade fudge (and samples!) that is so tasty! This little shop has tons of old candy from your childhood! They also have some unique gifts and other items. You definitely want to get some fudge. They have free samples, as many as you like. One of our favorite things to do as non-skiers in Red River is to walk Main Street. One of our favorite stops is The Candy Crate (known online as CandyMountainFudge). Their fudge is famous, and famously delicious. My son's favorite is the Rocky Road Fudge--chocolate with walnuts and marshmallows. You will not believe the flavor choices. It's hard to decide, but they will give you a taste to help. Since it was hard to make decisions, we were excited to find out that they will ship things to you. read more

We drove 40 miles with plans to spend a lot for Christmas gifts. New Mexico has an indoor mask mandate. The few customers were masked. The two employees were NOT. We left after letting them know we would not be spending at a business that ignores a state public health mandate. Very sad as this store has great merchandise. read more

I absolutely loved this place!! They have a very large variety of candy that you can't find anywhere anymore! My son loved it & they have slush puppies!! We saw this store as we were driving through town and unanimously decided that we'd have to circle back to stop in. They had a great selection of fudge, and employees were very nice. They also had many other candies, a gift shop and ice cream. They even had a slushy machine where you pump your own flavoring syrup into it to make yourself. One of the things I really loved was the way the store smells! Between the fudge counter and the fresh roasted nuts, it smells delicious! Would definitely come here again when in town. read more

What an incredible store! Do NOT miss The Candy Crate if you're anywhere close to Red River. There is an amazing variety of candy: nostalgia, imported, hard to find...You name it! And then there is the fudge. An enormous selection of fudge, I might add! To be perfectly honest, I've never been a fan of fudge. It's always seemed overly sweet for me. The young lady working was really sweet especially since we accidentally walked in at almost closing time.... Made a couple of recommendations that were perfect!
