It's clean enough, has a decent selection, and has friendly staff. Unfortunately, this place is home to some of the absolute slowest checkstand workers in the supermarket game. As if thats not bad enough, management insist on putting the slowest of them on the "fast checkout" lane. It is incredibly frustrating. I have to check who is working what register before getting in line, it's almost funny. I was just there yesterday and there was only one person ahead of me. This dude, who already scans items as if he's trying not to wake them, decided to have a full on conversation with the customer while there is a woman with an already impatient todler trying to buy a single carton of milk. This is our neighborhood grocery store...it's not huge, so it doesn't have the extended selection as a lot of other stores. However, it makes quick shopping trips easy and convenient, it's hardly ever crowded, and the staff is always friendly. We can usually find everything we need here. We've had issues over the past few months with buying expired dairy products, which we unfortunately didn't notice until we got home. The items that were expired included cottage cheese, sticks of butter, and a veggie dip from the deli section (all from different shopping trips). We didn't bother to return them, as it would have just been a few bucks each time, so more trouble than it was worth. But we did learn our lesson to check the expiration dates at this location before checking out - especially for dairy items. read more

I have shopped here much more often since the pandemic began as it's close to home. The service has only gotten better. The location has plenty of parking, a deli and a small bakery. There is also a full service meat department and a good selection of wines and craft beer! Really tired of the inconsistent operating hours of the service deli. I complained to Albertson's corporate about the early closure, and the manager of this Albertsons assured me earlier THIS WEEK that it would be corrected. This picture is from 7:00pm, 2 hours before it's closing at 9pm, and nothing is available! It wastes so much time to plan to come here to pick up dinner, and then have to backtrack and figure out something else, and this must happen to many other people. I've been shopping here for three months, so I feel like I've had enough time for a review. Prior to this, I was shopping at the Vons in Mission Hills, which sucked so bad. I was just sick of everything always being out of stock so I came here. What a difference. I don't know how these two stores can be owned by the same company and be so radically different. This place is a pleasure to shop at. Clean, quiet, always plenty of registers open, and they never seem to run out of stock of items. Maybe that's because every time I come here, at any time of the day stock people always seem to be stocking the shelves. They have a walk-in beer cooler, a fantastic selection of wines and spirits, and generally seem to always have everything I need when shopping weekly for a family household. Whatever management is doing here, they just need to keep doing it. Please don't slack off.. this place just needs to keep this level of quality. I would say in the Northridge/North Hills area, this is one of the best local markets around. read more

I used to be a VONS and Ralph's kinda gal, till I stumbled upon the Albertson's on San Fernando Mission. That became my go-to store. Alas, like many of it's predecessors, it is no more. There are only two or three Albertson's left in the entire San Fernando Valley. The prices are comparable, if not better than the other local grocery chains. But what sets this location apart for me is their bakery goods, especially those chocolate chip cookies, super friendly folks at the deli, fresh...FRESH produce, and fresh meat. Ben & Jerry's recently released a new line of ice cream called Core. I've combed the entire San Fernando valley, and found them here! Kudos to you Albertson's for having items in stock! read more

There used to be a lot of Albert sons in the San Fernando Valley. Now there are only 3 locations left. This Industry is competitive,however its hard for them to kept up with Walmart. Their prices are a lot lower than Albert-sons. Yea there are some items that are cheaper.but overall Walmart is less and you get more for your dollar. It has some the amenities a Super-lotto Machine,Red Box that is Real Popular now and a Chase ATM Machine inside. This location also his a Deli and a Bakery Department. The Cinnamon Rolls,yea I bought some.8 for $2.99.Fresh. They have been saying they are going to close this location. Maybe that's why they don't remodel this location and it really needs a make over. I had to write this review today as a special thank you to the Bakery Department, Kenny the decorator especially. I had a special cake request from my daughter in law to make a smaller version of a cake she wanted for her baby shower. I had received ridiculous quotes ranging from $80-$260 for this cake but I went to Kenny and immediately he said he could do a smaller version of the cake and charged me $39.99. I also ordered 30 cupcakes because the cake and cupcakes were going to be a part of candy bar so I didn't need a huge cake. I placed the special order two weeks ahead but Kenny said he only needed 3 days advance notice for a special order. I was so happy when I called on Friday to check on the order and Kenny was all set and told me my order would be ready for pick up first thing in the morning. The cake and cupcakes were beautifully decorated and delicious in taste and all my guests were extremely satisfied. It also fit perfectly on the candy bar. Thanks Kenny! You rock! read more

In all honesty, the prices of course are little more expensive but you get a clean store, checkers, and baggers. This place is right near my office so that is a bonus for their location. I have never been a big Albertson's fan. Their selection is always much smaller than other stores. Their produce section is kind of small and just have the essentials. Their hot food is alright but nothing to brag about. Their bakery section is also kind of small and the quality isn't bad but it isn't great either. This is a standard store but don't go looking for any specialty items. The one thing they do have their is a good chunky salsa in a jar but other than that it isn't anything special. Usually I don't do reviews on local markets, however after seeing what I saw I knew I had to say something on here. The store is clean and organized however the cashier Susan was very rude to the bagging lady, named Monica. The reason I even know her name is because Susan kept yelling at her to hurry up and to run (across the store she yelled this out). I dont know who Susan is but I dont think it's appropriate to act that way especially in front of customers. It makes me think that Albertsons hires anyone, even without manners. She was also snappy to a customer that was ahead of me. I think Albertsons should retrain Susan to remind her about the proper way to talk to people including CUSTOMERS! Be careful when grabbing items from this store and always check the dates! happen to us not once or twice but many times that we grabbed something like milk, etc later on found out it's over a week expired and seems that management can't or doesn't want to fix this issue. It's my neighborhood market of choice. Staff is super nice in the meat department, cashiers not so friendly but what I most often shop for is the ribeye steak! Always great quality and great prices. They always have pretty good deals on other groceries when you buy in multiples. I love that they always have fresh strawberries but they need to work on getting better quality avocados. A little renovation wouldn't help as it is a bit old school but overall it's in a good location and the parking is not a problem but it does get busy in the evenings. Also, close by is Jamba Juice, El Pollo Loco, CVS, and other convenient stores. read more

I have been meaning to write this review! I need to give the biggest shout out to Rebecca in the bakery department for making MY HUGE mistake into a And even BIGGER SUCCESS! I made the mistake of printing the wrong picture onto a cake that was being presented to about 100 people. Of course I waited til the last minute and was rushing I ended up making this embarrassing mistake and I THOUGHT there WOULD BE no way to get it fixed in time for the awards presentation. I called all around town to see if at all possible someone would be able to fix it. Or make me a new one in about two hours time. I must have called every market within a 20mile radius. And, Oh did I mention the cake was going to San Diego so I actually even called some bakeries down south. Well I got no where w all the calls! No one could help and everyone said it couldn't be done. WELL I THINK AFTER THE 15th store I called I finally called Albertsons in northridge and Rebecca this ANGEL picked up the phone. I explained in detail what had gone wrong and Rebecca's voice was so kind and understanding and she then said the most magical words ever. "Bring in the cake and I'll do what i can to fix it or I'll find a way to make you a new one." It was 5pm and they close at 6pm I told her we'd head right over and she said don't worry about I'll wait for you guys. We arrived and in no time she had fixed the cake and made all of my worries disappear! It was like nothing had ever even gone wrong. It's so hard to find good customer service now a days so I had to write this because truly and honestly Rebecca deserves way more than this but this is the least i could do for what she did! The last couple of days I have passed by here on my way home and picked up a few items. This market is not gonna get my service any more. Small and shabby....I just don't like it. (NOTHING like "my" Albertsons on Van Nuys/Sherman Way) This store can not even compare. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars is because of the VERY nice gentleman working in the produce section. When I entered the store.....I didn't pick up a basket first.....and he INSISTED that he would go back outside and get me one....AWWW....and then he helped me select some corn on the cob. I also frequented the meat dept....where I picked up some shrimp and some smoked bacon. Nice service there as well THE PROBLEM is.....when I went over to the last aisle where the drinks are located......there was a man stocking the right hand side across from the sodas.....and I was going all the way to the end of the aisle so I could scoop a Starbucks drink of the shelf..... they were on sale 2 for $4.....and I only wanted 1.....I started looking at the expiration dates....and found that the flavor I wanted had early April dates on them..(EWWW) and was all cloudyish and OLD looking I glanced over at the man who had been stocking the shelves who was now walking down toward me....I told him "Hey...These are expired and tried to hand him the drinks 8) WELL~~~He was like just put em back...I'll get em later Son of a B**ch I picked a different flavor and went to the line to check out Ol boy was passing by me on his way back.....and gave me the dirtiest LOOK He Lost my business Just had to share that read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid (since 2000) and the service has been getting worse and worse. The employees move unbelievably slow and just socialize with their boomer friends. There's no self check out so if you need to get one item quickly it will take at least 15 minutes. On weekends they're always understaffed. I'm finally done with this place. read more

There just isn't any reason to shop this location....knowing it's a very small store with a very limited selection but I often shopped there for small quick or essential items I needed. But lately when I stop by there it's about as exciting as watching paint dry. My last trip was to pick up some ice cream. I got in the shortest line possible. As I approached the manager did call for some back up as the lines were long for 8:30pm. The unfortunate decision was that I happened to get in the slowest lane. The older gentleman checker moved like he was in slow motion. 2 customers in front if me a customer had about 12 items & handed the checker some coupons. This grocery store is pretty close to my new house, but I will not be returning unless absolutely necessary. I have never really been a huge Alberston's fan as it is. However, this one left me very disappointed. Their garlic and cremini mushrooms were excellent but, I feel that their overall selection was seriously lacking. It's not located in the greatest of areas and I know that grocery stores carry what they have demand for but come on. I usually make my own pasta sauces but once in a while will buy store bought. The highest quality available barely exceeded 5 dollars and tasted like ketchup. Also, i asked for flat leaf parsley and was pointed toward curly decorative parsley.
