This is my local Albertsons, so I don't just go there during the tourist season or on busy weekends. The store is clean, organized and the staff is welcoming. Considering the huge fluctuations in visitors, the staff do an amazing job of keeping things moving smoothly. This is by far the worse consumer managed Albertsons I've been to. There are NEVER any pickup spots available because people are using it for regular spots and the same goes for the handicapped. As a handicapped person, I can't park, and when I result to picking up my order, there's also nowhere to park. This is unacceptable. read more

Next up on finding the best grocery store rotisserie chicken, I found myself at Albertsons. It came in at $8.99 for a rosemary and garlic bird. No one asked for this, but I was on a family vacation in Palm Springs getting groceries and saw this tissy, so I thought why not let it fly. I took the bird just down the road to Victoria Park, as demolishing a whole chicken on a sunny day in the park is scientifically proven to calm anxiety, which I am riddled with. I thought this was going to be a 4/10. My expectations were in the dirt. Honestly, it wasn't bad. Solid bird. Just please will somebody tell me why they can't slice cold cuts "very thin" in the deli?! I always get told that if they slice them any thinner they will be shredded which is just not the case. Maybe somebody from their vendor can come in and demonstrate how to do it right. If not, then remove the display case signs that offer the choices for thickness. Always end up tossing unused purchases because they're just not good. Maybe go over to Jersey Mike's and see how easy it is. I worked in a number of delis back in the day so I also know how easy it is. On top of that, the pre-sliced options are crazy thick as well. I wish I could say the staff was nice but they sincerely make you feel as if you are ruining their day just by approaching the counter. I don't need everyone to smile at me but at least speak to the customer instead of just walking up and nodding. read more

Today I purchased one of Albertsons' prepared meals (meat loaf, mashed potatoes and string beans). It was terrible. The meat loaf did not have a good taste and the mashed potatoes definitely tasted like instant mashed potatoes. This meal was definitely not worth the price. read more

Worst Fried Chicken ever,, we have tried numerous times and either salty to a point hard to eat or so over fried . And of coarse like every thing else the price has jumped no meat ,dried to the bone. Speaking of that ,not sure where they get their chicken but has to be the smallest pieces more like Cornish hens than actual chicken. we live within walking distance to the store but have figured out it cost less and you get more for your dollar at a number of other stores. So when you go to Albertsons and don't check the app before you go to clip every single digital deal, you will have to pay whatever the full price is. And now they have "digital deals", aside from the digital deals on the app, that have to be scanned when you're in the store to get that sale price! I am 74 years old and can barely walk so I have my groceries delivered. Every store offers the service and I really like the people at Albertsons on Sunrise. The grocery deliveries seem to be either UBER or (the name slips past me, I am old). For years I ask the deliveries be brought inside and today, my delivery was left at the door and I couldn't bring it in. Albertsons CS said bringing your groceries indoor has an extra charge. This is the closest neighborhood grocery store in our vicinity 7 minutes away and serving greater Palm Springs. Every time I come in for Kendamil infant formula there are either only 3 on the shelf or sold out. Its a huge inconvenience to only carry so few and the employee's would rather say they are out of stock then actually checking. A fan of Albertsons and definitely a fan of this location on Vista Chino and Sunrise Way. One of the nicest well kept and mostly easy to navigate parking lots... The entrances are a little funky as they have zero carts on the south entrance and all the carts on the north... Which isn't super helpful when you park a few spaces away on the north side... When we made or way to the other of the side are grocery journey began with produce, desserts and a little booze cruise (Topo Chico Seltzer... GET IN MY CART). The store is very nice and organized. Lots of space to enjoy the store that is your store! That classic jingle is still a hit single to me lol. Very impressed with the full shelves and fridges for beer, pre-packaged produce plus cold and frozen goods. Definitely got my plant-based fix for goodies and meals for my vacay. Seems like they're carry even more than I remember in the vegan and vegetarian department in the cold boxes. They seriously had almost everything I was looking for and always have some of the best deals (not including Grocery Outlet). Albertsons is apart of the Safeway/Vons/Pavilions family so while they don't always have the best price in town, they have the vast majority of everything you need and at the same or close to same range in price + good saving and deals if you're a rewards member (yes you can use the same loyalty card and/or phone number across all their variations/subsidiaries). Friendliest service out of anywhere (huge thank you to Alice). I went in the store and I went down all the isles... Well at least a quarter of the way when I'd spot what I wanted. Seriously just enjoyed being here and my shopping experience interacting with my friends, fellow customers and all the employees. There was one item they didn't seem to carry or have in stock, but a quick trip to stater brother fixed that (plus I forgot two things... I should make more list). Overall... I gotta say... This is your average grocery store that has every last thing you could want. It was clean. It was well stocked. The prices were fair. It had alcohol if you want that. Self check outs or a person to check you out. I even bought some California grown fruit. read more

No wonder it's three stars. Lazy and motivated and that's the managers. Swing shift days and weekends. Ordered a small deli salad. Got to the cashier and realized it was barely half full. Twice now this week. Now I'll watch more carefully. When I mentioned it to a large unmotivated female manager so that you could improve she was like "yeah, whatever." I tried their pick up service tonight. There were multiple items that were out of stock. In addition, they gave me the wrong items than what was ordered. I've had delivery service before with Kroger (Ralph's) and didn't have a problem. They refunded the money from the wrong items. I have to share my thoughts on the meat I purchased for Memorial Day weekend, the store is big, clean with a welcoming atmosphere and everyone is nice. They had some really good deals going on so I bought; chicken breast, ground sirloin, tuna steaks and salmon filet. I'm very picky about the meat I eat and the meat here was just weird. The ground beef was a wet consistency that is not commonly found anywhere else. I immediately thought that when I was forming the beef into burgers, I could spread the meat with a spoon instead of using my hands. The chicken breast seemed spongey after being cooked & tasted highly processed. The salmon was just ok but the tuna steaks were very chewy. I was weirded out by the meat!! Is this bioengineered meat? Is that why it was so inexpensive?? I typically purchase meat from a butcher, WholeFoods or Bristol Farms but we were visiting for the holiday weekend so Albertsons was the closest store. Otherwise, this store has everything you can imagine and great parking. read more

Really difficult for vegans to shop here. They do have lots of vegan "meats" and "cheeses", but they are haphazardly distributed all over the store. For example Beyond meat is like in four different places along the rear aisle. Most vegan "meat" products are mixed in with the real "bloody" meat and fowl products. "Cheek by jowl". Its really a big scavenger hunt for vegans here. I found toffuti products in at least three separate places from one side of the store to the other. They seem to have figured it out for their vegan "ice cream" selections, all neatly in one freezer. Just from a marketing standpoint, vegans would prefer a separate freezer case for the vegan "meat" and "chicken" products. Same with vegan "cheese" products and alternative "milks". You have all the vegan stuff already, just organize it and don't make it difficult to find. One case of beyond meat is sufficient. Making it easier would attract more of those vegan premium customers too. Walk across the street to Stator Brothers or visit WF and see how they do it, then do likewise. No recommendation, but will revisit in a few weeks and see if the stars align better. read more

This Albertsons is horrible so yeah they serve food that is expired I have found meat that is green which means it's spoiled eggs that are past expiration. I ended up throwing away like over $60 dollars worth of food because I didn't want my family to be sick and have contacted the California Department of Public Health Food Safety with photo evidence of the food being bad. Getting there: Located on the Westside of Sunrise road, in the same parking lot as Gold's Gym. There are tons of parking spots in front of the store. Experience: I give this store kudos because I researched almost every grocery store in PS for rice paper wrappers, and this was the only one that had them in stock. It took me a bit to find them because it wasn't clear which isle they would be located, but after about 5 mins I found them near the hispanic isle. Not happy that I got charged the same amount for a quarter sheet custom cake that I paid for a half sheet same time last year!! Doubled the price! & my sincere confusion was met with such a cold and rude demeanor from the latina woman working there, the other woman who took my order 2 days ago was also super cold and not very helpful..she just quietly made me guess my way through my order and thus let me think I was ordering the same size as last year when I mentioned the number of guests it would feed. Super disappointing since I was so happy with last year's bakery service and how nice and helpful the employees were then..other than that, it's a great grocery store. read more

The store and parking lot are always clean and free of trash. That's saying a lot about the parking lot especially after a wind storm blowing in crap from everywhere. The staff are always friendly and will help you find what you're looking for. The Savon Pharmacy located inside is VERY nice. The pharmacist there is one of the nicest and most helpful I've had the pleasure of working with. The only things keeping them from a perfect score are (1) prices are higher than other stores, and (2) they do not have Apple Pay. read more

I went in today to purchase a few items that were in the weekly ad. There were a type of item that should have been discounted at the register and it didn't come up. I proceeded to speak with the cashier. She told me that if is isn't in the system that means it's not on sale. I showed her on my phone and she ignored me. And told me that's what I need to pay. Yesterday was my turn to be the subject of hateful treatment of what I have seen by an employee who profiles senior men to be abuse. Her name is Jennifer and she oversees the self checkout. I presented an item that was priced incorrectly and instead of having something verified the price on the bin she created an internal nightmare resulting in the item being taken away from me and me having to leave the store and come back in after retrieving the items and the bin label to her to rebuy the items which really made her angry. She was visibly livid and irate rather than apologetic and accommodating. I later reported it to the store manager. I will hear the response Monday. She has worked there a long time and I have seen her single out other senior men to take out her wrath on and can only wonder why this continues. I worked serving the public in customer service for 40 years and cringe when I see someone get away with abuse. read more

It's the most unpleasant, unfriendly staff I've ever seen. I think they hate the jobs are it's a horrible place to work. I was there last night & I'm never going back again . Coffee maker in the resort I am staying at was broken and the office wasn't open yet so I googled the nearest Starbucks and it came up inside this Albertson's. Decided to get some breakfast foods to cook back at the resort; however, everything was too pricey so I settled on some cinnamon rolls for 2.50 instead and put everything else back. This is a review for my local down the street from my home grocery store. I moved to the area last year and have been shopping here at least 2-3 a week for the past 12 months. I love this store! I have not yet had a problem with the deli. They always slice our meat and cheese with the right thickness. The fried chicken is really good. I love the big shrimp from the seafood counter. I shop here so often, I have friendly conversations with all of the staff. They know me by name now. Everyone is so helpful and personable. I walk in and am asked how my day is going! Feels like my home town in the Midwest. I also had an amazing experience with the pharmacy. Rite Aid refused to fill an urgent care script because I forgot my insurance card. The lady at the counter was able to do some computer magic, located me and was able to give me what I needed and filled within 10 minutes! p.s. This is the only store I can find that sells large curd cottage cheese! read more

New to Palm Springs after living in Thailand for 4 years. Since this is the closest market I decided to stock up my new condo with all the essentials. I was very impressed with the wide array of fresh produce and overall cleanliness of the store. Further, it was not crowded so shopping was easy. However, checkout was another story. Wow. Such poor customer service. The gentleman at the cashier (I believe his name was Jimmie - 300 pm on Thursday) never greeted me nor said a word until he told me how much I owed. No eye contact. Plus, he threw my food around like he was hurling a bowling ball. No thank you. And it was not a busy situation Who trains these people or supervises them? You lost a new customer. I'll find another market with staff who care about their customers and take pride in their job. In 4 years in large and small towns across SE Asia I have never seen such disrespectful behavior from an employer at a market. Terrible indifferent attitude. read more
