I see the fascination with this place. I see what it's all about now. I've been to the usual Walmart here and there but this super center, it's totally a one stop shop. I don't know how they pick and choose location to add one compared to the normal. I've only been to the one in Orlando and now this location in the desert. Of course you have to have a massive parking lot to accommodate the loads of shoppers and wanderer's. Three entrances on either end of the store and garden center. There's a fast food place inside, you have the deli section and bakery. Of course the frozen section with quite some nice decent items. It's basically a grocery store on one side of the place. Even a decent isle for the international goods. There's a fairly decent section/department where the alcohol is located. So you have one side that's groceries and the other is basically everything else. Home goods, technology, clothing and so on. There's even a pretty decent size garden center that is pretty massive but it was a little sparse with what they offered. Some patio furniture, mainly soil and the usual pots and some plants. They also have a department for delivery and pickup. It's quite interesting for me...lol... Of course you have the option of self checkout or with someone. Bags are additional fee as we all know. What I didn't understand is, some of the items you would need to pay before hand if you want them. There's the beauty department where you have to leave your basket outside and pay for what you need before returning to it. And some other items in the store where you have to do the same or they can leave it at the customer service counter until you're finished. I had to do that with a measuring tape. We were still shopping and asked if it was ok. The staff seemed a bit annoyed with the request but took it to customer service anyways. Besides that concept, it a pretty good place for your one stop shop. read more

While visiting Palm Springs for a few weeks, I went to the Walmart on 5601 Ramon Rd. I ran into an issue with two VISA gift cards that would not go through. Fortunately, I was helped by ANEL at the Front End Customer Service desk, and I can honestly say it was some of the most exceptional customer service I've ever experienced. It took about 20 minutes to resolve the issue, and throughout the entire time her patience and professionalism never wavered. In fact, she thanked me for my patience -- when truly it was her patience that carried us through the situation without a single harsh word or hint of attitude. Stopped into this Walmart while in here for our churches marrage retreat to replace some clothes I had given away during my trip to Africa. I found the cargo pants, shirts, and other essentials. This store was fresh, well-stocked, and had plenty of variety. The only challenge was finding someone to help me when I had a question, but once I found assistance, things went smoothly. Today I went to Walmart and I had the worst experience I've had in that store. It was the first time I used the self-colling area and, due to some failure, three products that I did scan were not registered in the machine. Instead of approaching with respect to clarify what happened, an employee arrived very aggressively, took all my things out of the bag without even asking my permission and treated me as if I were a criminal. It was a huge humiliation, in front of all the customers who were watching the scene. What gives me the most courage is that I am a frequent customer and I have never gone through something like this. I perfectly understand that they check the receipts on the way out, but after the offensive way they treated me, I was so upset that I didn't even want to show mine. Then they did go after me to demand it. How ironic, because on other occasions I myself have shown them the receipt and they don't even check it; they are distracted talking and don't pay attention. But this time, after making me go through that embarrassing moment, they suddenly did care about complying with the procedure I will never go back to that store. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect or to be publicly exposed for a system error. An apology doesn't erase the embarrassment they made me go through. read more

I purchased a roast to prepare for dinner guests last night. The roast is a nice looking piece of meat, as well is should be based on the price. I prepared it in the slow cooker and when it was ready to be sliced, I was shocked that I practically needed a chainsaw to cut into it. It was so tough that my dinner guests could barely chew it. I bought a 10k gold chain from this Walmart and ordered it online for curbside pickup. Little did I know that was my first mistake. I mean i was shocked when I saw that walmart had gold chains , but was excited because i suffer from social anxiety, so if they ever offer curbside pickup, I go with it. I pulled up to the Walmart pickup spot told the app i had arrived. Shortly after a young man came and brought my chain in a few groceries to the car. Sealed in the middle envelope with a sandwich bag wss the chain. I removed it from the envelope as I was pulling out. I paid roughly 900$ for the chain. Now, I know the prices of gold and felt an uneasy feeling as I could feel that the weight of this chain didn't match the money, I paid for it, so I took it to a jeweler in Cathedral City right after I left the Walmart and had it tested. It was not gold. It was 99% copper, so I took a picture of it. I took the guy's business card, went back to the Walmart, told him that they sold me a fake gold chain and ultimately.\n I was basically called a liar and told that they weren't going to refund the necklace. I was absolutely sick to my stomach and\nThreatening to call the cops on them but had an epistemi going to call their corporate office. Corporate was more than graceful apologetic and confused as to why Palm Springs Walmart\nWould not do the return. Now , mind you , at least ten people came and looked at the necklace , and in the end , the lady that manages the jewelry department told the cashier that that wasn't the chain that she gave to whoever she gives it to and ultimately made it seem like I switched the chain. Unprofessionalism at their finest, this place ought to be ashamed of themselves, I realize that some people pull scams and do crazy stuff like that, but 100% somebody in between the jewelry department and whoever got the necklace after that switched out my chain, in the end, I got my full refund. And they had An open investigation onto this situation. Avoid this Walmart at all costs.They are employing criminals. read more

Had my oil changed at the auto department and they left the oil filter loose. Because of the design of my vehicle it has the belly pan that covers the entire bottom for aerodynamics and it was capturing all the oil so I could not see the leak or tighten the filter from the bottom without a lift. It went through 6 quarts of Penzoil Premium before I could get it into the shop as I was on the road and cost over $130 in oil plus had to have another shop fix the issue, and hopefully didn't ruin my engine. Not worth the savings read more

I've always had relatively good experiences with Walmart. This was something totally different. My son purchased an ice cream maker online. It wasn't the right one. Walmart had the better one in stock, so I took it to customer service and they said they would hold it until I came back with the one we wanted. Anyways, after shopping for a little while, my wife went to customer service. They had removed the online label off the return and were getting ready to restock it. After retrieving the label from the trash, they told her to take the ice cream maker to the car. In the meantime, I had a cart full of items and was preparing to check out. Our son is 100% disabled, and trips to the store are very difficult for him. The ice cream machine was something he was really excited about, and he also had a list of things he wanted, from groceries to a couple leds for his room. I set my cart near checkout and went to see where my wife went. I didnt find her and went back to my cart which was gone. I went to customer service and they offered no help. Just stating items were returned directly to the shelves. That was quite frustrating and then I got a call about the ice cream maker and my wife were at the car. I tried to grab at least some of the food items my son requested and at that time was approached by three employees and was told to leave. I asked him what for? I was completely bewildered. He gave no reason other than it was his store and he didnt want me there. I showed him the sales receipt to which he seemed suprised. I showed him my communication with my son and explained the reason he had me shopping for him. He didnt care. I considered having him call the police because they must have a reason to do this or at least a perceived reason. He offered nothing. I decided to not cause a scene, but its an absolute joke when I look at the lack of professionalism and customer service. They assume everyone is bad or trying to get over on them. I would have spent hundreds there but you can bet they won't see another dime from me or those close to me. I wish I had gotten there names but I was just wanting to keep it peaceful. The usual combat ready security guard, lol. They are probably management and loss prevention. If they followed me, they had wasted alot of their resources. I give up. I've had multiple negative experiences in this store. I returned an item, agreed to credit on a gift card that never worked. When I tried to resolve the issue I was told the balance was zero. It was literally 20 mins old - barely enough time for me or anyone to use it. I asked what was purchased and they refused to tell me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they called me entitled. Because I wasn't willing to throw away my money?? After an abundance of rude encounters with employees I started using self check out. The machine wouldn't take my card, so I tried another. The attendant started harping at me like I was child: "What does it say on the screen? Read what it says on the screen!" There are 2 screens: The one on the card terminal said, "Card Read Error," which is why I was trying another card. He was referring to the dialog that popped on the on register screen that instructed me to Swipe instead of using the chip reader. I just hadn't seen it yet. But seriously, I'm surprised their employees act like this. It's a reflection of poor management. But I realized I don't have to shop here. I can get on average the same price from the megacorporate tree forest company online and it's easier. It's a wash, but at least I don't have to deal with the hassle of in-person rude customer service. read more

This is a warning for anyone anticipating on buying a phone or product from Premium Wireless at this Walmart. It has been an utter nightmare getting a phone from this supposed authorized dealer. The representative took complete advantage of us. He deliberately set up a separate line, charged a deposit for a phone when he knew that this was not our intention. When we returned, he kept saying come on a different day to reach a manager who is the only person that can "fix it", Then this day turns into another day that we are being told to come back because the manager is still not available. We had enough. Even after the line was terminated via phone customer service days before, as a strategic move to get the employee to do a simple transaction of taking the phone back and issue a refund. The same employee who initially set the line up happens to be the one there who now pretends to do the refund process now. But where is the manager you said we are supposed to see? Now all of a sudden, he can do the refund now. He pretends to make a phone call in the name of "doing it properly." This was a deliberate move to punish us for beating him with the 14 day policy. He lost the commission the second the line was terminated via phone CS five days before, but he wanted to stall and purposely waste our time. Sadly, the carrier refused to back us up, knowing the long-standing phone calls made to rectify this in the first place. I was hoping this didn't happen but I never want to see my father get angry and it is extremely rare, let alone raise his voice in a rage; however, the employee wasn't satisfied until my father inflicted utter fear in him for the whole store to hear, did we get the refund. People truly do respect violence. Just to warn others, please do not get a phone from these retailers in Walmart. 9/10, they will in the name of greed and commission, do unscrupulous things contrary to your wishes and you better believe they will do everything in their power to prevent you from undoing it. Wanted to get a regular oil change, but the website only offered synthetic. The Mobil gas station would do then but I wanted a cheaper service. I tried calling before driving to see if I can get a regular service but no one answered. I drove to my appointment anyway and saw the sign that offered regular non synthetic oil changes starting at 28.88. The tech (who was ran nice) said my 2014 tundra with 85k miles had to go synthetic. I didn't want to, but it was still cheaper than my regular oil change at the gas station. So I ordered the 38.88 oil change. The tech then said we don't have that oil and I'd have to get the 58.88 change. That price was now more than my regular oil change at the gas station. Not coming back. read more

This Walmart deserves less than one star for this location by far the worst customer service ever. We were ready to pay, we saw a lane open, the light was on but there was nobody there. The employee working the next lane/register even looked back but quickly turned away. We saw the woman that was supposed to be working that lane look at us and immediately turn away, pretending she didn't see us. We waited a few minutes and she kept on just pretending to be organizing the cady at an empty checkout lane. She did not have any cart with candies to organize and the shelf was already stocked. She clearly was waiting for us to give up. I kept eye contact and I guess she finally decided to do her job. When she came to the register she acted like we did the worse thing for waiting for her to do get job. November 24, 2024 I received an oil change from technician Noah S at the Palm Springs location. Everything at the time was fine, they didn't tell me anything was wrong so I paid and went along until my next service was due. I used to live in Palm Springs, but since I've moved i find it difficult to continue receiving auto care at this location, so I scheduled an oil change at a different Walmart in Colton. Their manager denied my service, telling me that I have to get my oil changed at the last location which is in Palm Springs because Palm Springs over torqued my filter. Of course, I'm upset. Regardless, I call this Walmart auto care center and was redirected to team lead Angel. There was bickering in the background between one of the clerks and Angel, both of them going back and forth on what to do with me on the phone. When Angel finally decided to address me, he insisted that my car isn't an issue and that I should be able to receive care in other Walmarts, our conversation was mainly argumentative because I don't think he grasped the severity of what this location did to my car. But we scheduled an appointment for April 5, Saturday. That day, before anyone worked on my car, I asked for the manager, and was redirected to associate Jonathan. They started my service, 30 minutes into it they cancel my appointment and manager Manny informs me that the threading to my oil filter is shredded due to the irresponsibility of associate Noah S, so they have to replace it. Of course, none of the nearby autozones have my car part so they have to order it, leaving me stranded in Palm Springs without a car until Tuesday, April 8th. They kept my car for three days! These technicians were not helpful in any way. The entirety of my service, team lead Angel and Jonathan were exchanging eye rolls and giggles with nasty side eyes towards me and my group. Manager Manny had the nerve to tell me that situations like these "don't happen often". They shouldn't happen at all! Not a single technician referred to me or looked at me despite the situation involving MY car. Rather, they preferred to talk to my husband. Even when asking questions involving MY car, I was sidelined. Not sure what's up with these technicians and their inability to look a woman in the eye. Thankfully, general manager Daisha ended up helping me. She actually showed great concern for my situation and settled everything FAST. She helped me get the bare minimum which was reimbursement for my gas and the temporary rental car. Hopefully their "investigation" leads to some sort of reassessment on these types of behaviors because the entire situation was handled unprofessionally, especially on Manager Manny's end. read more

This week while in the Walmart checkout line I picked up a package of Beyond Meat Jerky probably because it was a lot cheaper than the name brands for $2.24. When I ate some later that day I could not believe that this stuff is approved for Human consumption. I can't even describe an equal bad flavor or taste. I hope Brenda Boone, manager of this store, reads this, but probably not because so far she has done nothing but run away from problems. I spend about $1000 a month for deliveries from this store, mostly groceries. The shoppers must be untrained and without cognitive functioning. The problem comes in 1) management doesn't care. I've written the local manager and she blows me off 2) quality - today I was delivered celery that looked like it had been pulled out of a trash bin, literally slimmy and limp. I ordered three individual bananas and got three pounds - about 7 of them. The vegetables are constantly an issue but this is the worst 3) shoppers don't follow the substitution choices as provided on the web site nor the choice to reject them The quality of fresh things is always and issue as is size. If you order two baking russets you might get a potato three inches long or you might get an 8 inch monster 4) the drivers are completely incapable of handling an order for a bottle of wine. They freak out. The last time I ordered a single bottle - my wife answered the door with her id - and the driver demanded to see the id of the person who ordered. He was rude and lied about the law. We decided he was a homophobe with no respect for women and complained to Ms Boone but she never acknowledged. I've not ordered any more wine from this store as it's too much hassle 5) they are constantly out of stock on everyday items with only the poor quality Great Value as back up. All in all, it's been a bad experience, unlike other Walmarts I've dealt with and I won't be renewing my membership.. read more
