Relaxing ambiance and good food (pizza). Decent selection of wines and plenty of space to walk around in peace and enjoy your day with friends and family.

Inside-there were a lot of people eating, so I didn't wanna take pictures of too many people who may not want her picture on Yelp

On a trip to Sedona I had asked a Facebook group that I'm part of for road trips. What a good winery is in the area and an overwhelming number of people recommended Alcantara winery. I can see why it's actually very charming. It's really cute but it's crowded because it's popular and I have to say I didn't eat there but the bruschetta and the pizzas that I did see looked phenomenal. I wish I had eaten there! I just rolled up to the bar to do some wine tasting and you can go pick a table sip on your wine and then you come back for your next one, but I wasn't going to do all that I just wanted to be in and out quick and dirty and Haley was my server. She was awesome and she told me how to spell her name and I can't remember and I did ask her if I could post her picture on Yelp. She was friendly in top of it and was able to juggle me who was in her face with other customers without making anyone feel like they had to wait. She was on top it! I wasn't necessarily a fan of the wines but I like sweet wine and I did end up buying a bottle of Muscato so I can recognize that the wines were very good. They just weren't to my taste. I did the white wine flight. And also as a warning just so you know if you're coming from the river, don't wear a bikini you have to wear clothes to go in there. There's a sign outside.

~~Tubing~~ I saw all the reviews on here were for the winery but I was unable to find one for the kayaking/tubing on the river ! We tubed for just over 2 hours and had a blast! They do not give you a heads up on the lil rapids you'll experience while you're there but tons of fun! Your paddles are a hard plastic ping-pong paddles so keep that in mind that you won't be able to paddle very well. They also give you a squirt gun which I personally used to touch the bottom and push off of things. Other than that when you're going through the rapids it's easy to run into the shore line and loose debris, so make sure you're paying attention so you can push off of things with your legs. The tubes are pretty sturdy as well you sometimes have to lift your butt up off of the tube so you don't get caught on rocks. You definitely do not need aqua socks, as I didn't need to get off of my tube the whole time. Sun screen and water are really the only things you need to bring and normal shoes such as crocs. Also wanted to add you can bring your own alcohol, we didn't. Rookie mistakes..

    Kayak down the river.

Had a wonderful experience doing the kayak and wine tasting! Everyone was so helpful and nice. The river was beautiful and the tasting/food at the end was delicious! Thank you for a great anniversary!

This is a very nice winery that you can walk around the vineyard. You can also walk down to the Verde river. Mike was our bartender and he was a wealth of knowledge about the wine and the area. They also have river kayak tours that stop at this location.

So glad we chose the Hat Ranch, as it suits our outdoor style to a "T". The directions in were very easy to follow, and our Toyota Tacoma picked up a beautiful red patina of Arizona dust. Sharon, our host, greeted us at the main house and then escorted us to our quarters. As this was our first time here, she took extra time explaining all about our stay, which included a home cooked breakfast today. You can Google the Historic Hat Ranch for all the cool details, but suffice to say there are some very presidentially mended fences here on the expansive 2,800 acres. Our room was very nice, twin beds and a nicely appointed bathroom. Also a spacious deck to view the open Ranch space. We opened the windows and breathed in the fresh air...scented with juniper and noble fir trees right out our door. We didn't see any, but Sharon told us Elk frequented the area often. Many other wild creatures to see too, including javelinas. The baby colt on the way in made my wife's day, and he quickly posed for some pictures and romped away. This has been a perfect cherry on the top of our anniversary Sunday. If you love the outdoors and crave a rustic Ranch experience with warm hospitality, the Hat Ranch is the place for you.

The staff is really friendly. Everyone had a smile on their face and constantly said hello. It was very welcoming. The Trail house and art studio are great additions to the property. You can't take art classes or rent equipment for hikes or bike rides. In both spaces the people are very knowledgeable. Food choices are good.
