The views are spectacular from this 2nd floor view. It's air conditioned and has some cool western decor to look at. This was our first time trying this winery and for $20 a person it was a bit pricier for what you get but a cool new spot to try. Our pours were very small but you get to try 6 of their wines. You can choose from red blends to whites and some rosés. The wines were nice and smooth. The sommelier was very nice and friendly and she gave us her recommendations and what to expect flavor wise each time she would bring a new tasting out. read more

We stopped in for a wine tasting recently and had a good time. The location is great, with spectacular views from the big picture windows in the back. We did a tasting of a variety of their wines. It was $15 for a tasting of 6 wines. Everything was pretty good. We also tried their charcuterie, which was tasty. The staff were friendly and informative. We visited this winery twice during our trip. The first time was absolutely amazing! Jordan was our waitress, and the way she described each wine made it a whole experience in itself. The wines were delicious, the views were gorgeous, and we even got to enjoy a little thunderstorm which made it extra memorable. It was such a great time that we decided to come back the next day. Unfortunately, our second visit was the opposite. The person working that day was dismissive and basically told us she was too busy to help. It was super disappointing after the incredible service and experience we had the day before. I really wish our second experience had lived up to the first. Their tasting room is located right in downtown Sedona. It wasn't very crowded so we got right in for a tasting! They had a big selection of wines to sample so we chose to do a 6 wine flight. It was raining so it was a good indoor activity and it had a great view of the red rocks so we felt like we were outside :) The girl that was serving us was very nice and friendly. bummer ... just walked in alone in for a wine tasting, was kinda looking forward to it... I was told I could "stand at the bar" - although 80% of tables and chairs were open... I asked if they had any chair? He just said "no" ... and right then a couple walked in behind me and were told to "sit anywhere you want!" ... I mistakenly thought he meant me, and said "oh, great! ...wait, did you mean me?" - "No- I meant them." Wow, ok. You can't tell by looking at me but I fractured my heel bone recently and it's hard to stand for long-ish periods of time, ... I was just gonna do the flight and maybe buy a bottle to take home... but I guess I can take a hint!? Crazy. By the other reviews seemed like this place would be cool... but apparently not. I have been to my share of wineries and more than a few organized tastings! I had no idea what we were in for when we walked into the Winery1912. Jordan greeted us and welcomed us to a comfortable spot. There were about four other groups here for the same reason. Once she had explained the format to us we began to select our wine choices from both reds and whites then the show began! Jordan elegantly danced to each pour as she recited a dialect reminiscent of romantic poetry, eloquently describing each varietal and detailed and passionate prose that appealed to our sense of desire with a touch of humor. Her performance was first rate vaudevillian. We were so entertained that time was of no essence. Yes we enjoyed ourselves and yes we highly recommend stopping in for a tasting! We loved the wine and purchased several vintages! This was the best excursion we did during our entire stay in Sedona AZ. read more

Winery 1912 is a great spot to unwind after some hiking in Sedona. Friendly staff and a nice view out the back window to the red rocks of Sedona. We enjoyed a bottle of the Malvasia Bianca to cool down with. Staff was nice to keep our bottle in the wine fridge between pours to keep it nice and cold and refreshing. Popped in before dinner on a Thursday evening. Found the perfect seats in front of the window with a fabulous view. Quaint little wine bar with the nicest bartender. We opted for the mixed flight and started out gently. Dorado - dangerously smooth with a nice finish. Jerome 2021 Riesling - Not a fan. The lime zest is heavy in my opinion. Sonroja - Easy to drink. Nice poolside supper. 2020 Garnacha - initial smell is harsh. The texture is watery but the 'broad finish' explanation is accurate. 2019 Tempranillo - strong smoky oak is prominent but it has a nice finish. Ferdinand aka Sangiovese - nice but definitely recommend getting the cheese plate to compliment. We enjoyed our tastings and Jordan our server/bartender was amazing. Bubbly personality and attentive to each and every guest. The wines are not necessarily the best but the experience is great. read more

Wanted to check out a wine bar with a view before dinner. The view didn't disappoint! We also had very good service. There were two of us and we each did the wine flight. The flights were well priced and give generous pours. Some wines were better than others, but all quite fruit forward. Of the six we tried, I would only describe one as great (Mataro). It makes sense because who wouldn't want to grab a glass of wine on their Sedona vacation. This place has great service and great wine! Our server was so nice and helpful, he even gave us a bottle opener for us to uncork our bottle at our hotel. We did the wine tasting and every wine we tried was good. We ended up getting a bottle of the Pinot Grigio plus another to go. We also had the olive and hummus plate which was good. We were walking around and came across this place completely by chance. We were planning on doing a wine tasting at a place nearby in Tlaquepaque during our stay but our original plan fell through when we got there and the man wasn't wearing a mask, had his feet on the table and was very unprofessional when speaking to customers. We are so glad we skipped that because this place was simply amazing. Very spaced out, masks on staff, very clean, and great views! Melvina was our server and she was absolutely lovely. Very engaging and answered all our questions. Our top 3: 2014 Souzao Port (red) 2018 Malvasia Bianca (white) Ferdinand (red) We do tend to favor the sweeter wines and these were great! The tastings are either white or red and you can't mix them. 6 tastings for $15. I liked most of the reds and was pleased to hear that all the grapes used are grown in Arizona! I got to try some grapes that I had never heard of before and I've tried a decent amount of reds. All the reds are lighter bodied and tend to be on the fruitier side. The lady serving us was very nice but didn't seem to have that much knowledge of the different wines and the grapes used outside of what was said on the menu. Also, the location is not huge, space is limited. The service was great, staff members were well-versed with their wine selection and assisted the ones who were not wine connoisseurs. Named after the year that Arizona territory was granted statehood, Winery 1912 is one of the better wineries to establish a tasting room in Sedona to cater to the recent increase in wine tourism traffic. On our recent visit to Sedona, we decided to take advantage of the cold, rainy weather to enjoy one of the limited indoor activities in Sedona -- wine tasting. I'm hardly a wine snob, but I'll admit that I had pretty low expectations about the quality of wines from the Dragoon Mountain Vineyard. My wine drinking companion and I aren't big fans of the sweet wines that most domestic wineries outside of California, Oregon, and Washington specialize in. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the Mataro wine, which was a dry, medium bodied wine that was rich with aromas of spicy, ripe fruit. Quite good, actually. By itself, Mataro is definitely worth stopping in for a tasting if not a bottle to take home. read more

Well, the business owner obviously was angered and offended at my previous review. I tried to update that review, but Yelp kept losing the edits so after typing it three times I gave up and just posted a new one. In my previous review, I had said, "First of all, this is not a winery." I stand by that opening statement. But what apparently got the business owner upset was that I said it was not a winery but a wine bar and tasting room. He apparently felt very insulted that I called it a wine bar. So, I will edit that statement and say that it is not a winery but a tasting room. Now Mr. winery owner, I never said that you did not own a winery. What I said was, and what I stand by, is that this place in Sedona is NOT a winery. It is a tasting room of wines from your vineyard in Wilcox (and yes, we know where that is). We have been to many wineries in Arizona, and in numerous other states. We enjoy the atmosphere of going to a winery, having a tasting, buying a few glasses of wine, and being able to look out over the vineyard from which that wine was produced. We are well aware of the hard work and skill it takes to produce wine from smaller wineries. However, since you chose to describe my previous short review as "uninformed rambling," which was neither uninformed nor rambling, I will end this truly rambling review with some "consumer education" for you: Advertise your business for what it is -- a tasting room of wines from your vineyard in Wilcox. After doing our Sedona Trolley tour, we stumbled upon Winery1912 as we were walking around the shopping plaza near the trolley stop. To our surprise, this little wine shop has a good selection of wine and a very nice view of Sedona. We had the 6 wine flight for $15. We got 3 whites and 3 reds. I would say our favorite was the Verdejo (white wine). They do give ample amount of wine for the tasting flight. I would recommend a stop to this place while enjoying Sedona. read more
