I genuinely don't think I could have asked for better people to do my piercing! I went to get my helix and one of my lobes done and for reference in a big baby when it comes to piercing but Rick and his apprentice (I didn't catch her name) are so wonderful! They made me feel really comfortable and helped me understand a lot of stuff while also give me a good laugh. Victor Garcia is so incredibly talented and professional. I was almost embarrassed to request such a simple tattoo, but it symbolized something big for me and he didn't scoff once. He was able to capture the softness I was hoping for and didn't try to steer me into something bigger or more elaborate as other artists have done in the past. I love that they are a custom shop and that even though this tattoo is basic, it still felt unique enough. He is true artist and clearly enjoys what he does. I was prepared for pain, especially at the lateral malleolus/ankle bone, but he was so gentle that it barely hurt. I also got a piercing and he was just as friendly and professional for that. Prices were decent and quality is on point. 100% recommended and I will DEFINITELY be back to see him for my next work. read more

Saw Victor for my piercing and couldn't be more pleased! I had my nipples re-pierced (they were not the original piercers) and he made the entire process as quick and comfortable as possible. Can't speak for their tattoo work but overall great experience. I came in to get my tragus earring removed and replaced and Rich was super nice and took great care of me. I get all my tattoos and piercings at this shop! Rich is amazingly talented and the price is fair for the high quality, CUSTOM art you receive. He is meticulous about infection prevention, and can tell from his setup routine that he pays close attention to keeping a clean, sterile (as much as possible) work space. I have met several artists that work there, and seen their work firsthand. I refer friends and strangers here because of how great they do! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting as well. I took my wife to get her nose pierced for a birthday surprise. I reached out to Victor ahead of time to make sure he was available and to let him know it was a surprise. When we arrived at the shop, she figured it out. Victor was awesome. He walked her through the whole process and put her at ease. She was surprised and nervous at the same time. She has other piercings and tattoos and he explained it's nothing compared to those she already has. He explained step by step what he was going to do and then completed the piercing without any issues at all. She was fine and loves it now. She can't wait until it's healed so she can start putting in different studs. Shop was clean. Victor was super nice and professional. They're gauge tray was unorganized so I got the wrong size and when I came back the next day my hole had already shrunk and they made me repay for the new one and said I couldn't refund the old one. :( read more

I'm going to be thrilled to go to Ace's new shop to receive better work than is offered at Alchemy, more professionalism (i.e.: No constant profanity, talking about porn, arguing with customers in front of other customers, talking badly about past customers and artists, etc.) I sincerely hope that the days of Alchemy are numbered. My mother and two of our good friends came to Florida for a vacation and wanted to get matching tattoos. We called to get some info and the girl who answered made it all about her and when she was available. We came in the next day to set up an appointment with Rich. The set up the shop was awful and gave us a bad vibe. Rich saw what we wanted and said he'd have to make them smaller and get rid of detail... When rich ask the other artist if he would do some tomorrow he looked at us with a smug look and said no. They acted arrogant and like we never had gotten a tattoo before when we all have a good amount. Their crappy service, etc. sent us down the road to mouse sunset tattoos and we couldn't be happier! Let me start this off by saying Rich is one of the best in the largo area, why do I know this you ask? Simply because I've seen most of my friends tattoos butchered by various tattoo shops in the surrounding area and hated every single one and cringed to even give a compliment. Me myself have tested the waters of these tattoo shops and simply did not like the atmosphere nor the vibe from the artists, the same however can not be said for alchemy tattoo. I walked up to the shop and was immediately welcomed and asked " what can I do for you today buddy?" I told him and we immediately started throwing ideas out there and I showed him a picture and he got to work. I was absolutely satisfied with his Portfolio and the art work showcased on the walls, I plan on getting all my tattoos there . Rich is the bomb and he knows his shit! Highly recommended and I've gotten lots of compliments on my tattoo. read more

I had a very inadequate experience with this shady place and I regret ever going there. My purpose for visiting this shop was to purchase a retainer for my beloved monroe piercing because I had interviews and didn't want it to be the reason I lost a job opportunity. Due to having vision problems, poor dexterity, and not being too knowledgeable of piercings in general I asked that one of the people remove my stud and put the plastic one in. The guy did this and I was appreciative so I gave a tip since they don't generally have to put them in for customers. Well, at first everything was good but then after a couple days I checked out my piercing and to my horror the flat back wasn't visible inside my mouth....shockingly, it had gone inside my mouth and was stuck there with the hole healing around it. I don't have extensive knowledge on piercings, but I do know that the plastic retainers can be dangerous for this reason so I was fearing the worst. I had no insurance and couldn't afford to go to the doctor since I'm 18 and had just moved to Florida a month before. I was forced to remove the retainer by pulling it out unnaturally from the outside. Not only was I at risk for serious infection, but I lost my 50 dollar piercing. Had I gone somewhere else that could have informed me of proper care for my monroe, I would still have my piercing that could have been concealed and kept for as long as I wanted it. By the way, I had my monroe for over 8 weeks so it was by this time healed. When I walked into this shop I made it blatantly clear that I didn't know much about piercings...and I trusted these people!! I can't get my monroe pierced again because I can't wait 6-8 weeks to accommodate to a healing piercing just or hide it from potential employers. Rich spoke to me and apologized about the inconvenience this caused and graciously offered to re-pierce my monroe at a discounted cost. Well, the first time we set a date he cancelled because his wife went into labor or something along those lines (which was no problem for me, family is a priority) but the second time he completely screwed me over. We agreed to meet at 8:00 pm Sunday and I arrived at around 7:50pm just to ensure punctuality. I waited for this guy to finish speaking to the lady behind the counter and when it was my turn I asked if Rich was there and informed her that we had an appointment. She told me that no, he wasn't there and that he wouldn't be in the shop until Wednesday! I was livid at this point but left because there wasn't much I could do. Of course when I e-mailed him he claimed that he was waiting for me but I wasn't there. When in fact, I certainly WAS and he then said that he was there from 7:45 to 8:30pm and that I must have been there too early. I kept catching him in his lies, it was all so shady. His final claim was that he went to go get a soda. I'll have to provide some proof because it really shows how shady and unbelievable this "business" is. Too bad for him, because me being the way I am I would have refused a discount and would have paid full price since he so courteously offered to help me. I would not advise people go here, it is a very unprofessional atmosphere. The first time I walked in the people informed me they'd be in to help after they were done chatting and smoking cigarettes. I completely agree that tattoo shops should be more calm and relaxed than most businesses, but don't act like paying consumers are an inconvenience! I work in customer service and I know better than to do that. read more

This place is awesome! I started out following the owner an my artist on face book I had spoke with him online never once made me feel like I was wasting his time and was very nice in general. The first time I came to the shop was just to check it out and I liked what I saw very clean professional not like most shop with crappy flash on the walls or anything very classy and comfortable. My first tattoo was just the other day I came in two days before gave them my images and told them what I was looking for. What I got I couldn't even have imagined it's was better than what I was looking for I truly believe a tattoo can change someone life and I knew when I saw what he did my would. The tattoo itself was very fast and almost painless breaks when ever I needed them and nice conversation the whole time. Overall very professional all paper work done before hand prices and what you are getting. I would highly recommend the shop to anyone and I will be the are overall awesome people. read more
