The food was only set up when the event was already halfway over, which was extremely disappointing. While the food itself tasted good once served and the staff was courteous upon arrival, the complete lack of communication and reliability made the event stressful and unprofessional. Catering relies heavily on timing, and this experience fell far short of expectations for the price point. To this day, the owner, Clair, has never reached out to even communicate with me about what occurred. I would not recommend this caterer for time-sensitive events unless they improve their professionalism, punctuality, and client communication.

I wanted to pay via Venmo or Quickbooks (as stated in their contract) but wasn't able to and was told that I had to pay via my credit card. The credit card payment included a 3% surcharge which was substantial due to the amount that I owed. On top of that, they asked for a tip! We were picking up the order. When we arrived everything was setup beautifully for the buffet service, all of the glasses were ready with ice for tea or water, and the bartender was serving drinks on the patio to the attendees. We barely noticed the servers at the actual wedding but they kept the buffet stocked, cleaned up plates as people were done with them and washed all of the dishes as requested. They also packed up the food at the end of the night for our friends and family to take home. And the food was all fantastic. Everyone we spoke with was very pleased with our choices and Avalon's preparation of them. Our vegetarian guests were well taken care of as well. Highly recommend Avalon for your catering needs.
