I have been coming to Alderwood Mall for a few decades now. Living in the greater Seattle area (home neighborhood of Northgate in Seattle), this and Northgate were my two malls growing up. The different stores and food options I have explored here have varied with my age and focus in life, including for work and hobbies. As a young one, I was not the biggest shopper in the family, so our trips here could feel a bit long. Benches for sitting while waiting have been helpful, though can be spaced out. My experiences here have matured as I have aged into adulthood. Alderwood became my number one when shopping for professional attire and wanting to explore more than one retailer. Going to the movies here is something I have done on occasion, the food options remain my most utilized store/shop option across my childhood and adulthood. read more

I really like Alderwodod Mall. It doesn't seem huge like Bellevue or South center and it isn't small either. It's a perfect size and it reminds me of the family friendly coziness of what Northgate used to be. I love seeing all of the families and the food court has really good prices. It's hard to find good value for a family of 4 for under $35. With food. For example, Panda Express you can feed 2 or more people with an entree, chipotles kid menu is $6 with a drink, the Thai places portions are huge. I even found a salad at Sbarro's for $8. As my family is getting into Jordan's I like the two kicks shops in the mall. Everyone is friendly and it's a very nice layout. I also like the outdoor walkway and the outlet mall feel. The Parisian baguette bakery is cozy and I like the pastry selection. The itty bitty sushi restaurant is my kids favorite and I love the set prices. On a rainy Saturday in Seattle, this is a great place to be. read more

I am not sure what is taking place at the mall. The pinnacle of shopping. A place to hang out. As merchants leave and new stores come. I am a little excited about going to the mall. Food court doesn't offer quality food and the two restaurants left nothing to replace them. read more

I really like the mall, the food court is just amazing and I love that smells when I enter the place. The employee were chill there, bit intense depending on situation/stores but its cool. I wish the mall had way more sections to explore around because I don't wanna drive to another mall just to find a specific store or the store itself because it would be wasting my time. read more

Good mall with a variety of stores and food court dining options. There was a good selection of clothing stores. I found a new store called Cotton On that I've never heard of with good sales going on which I enjoyed. I found a nice pair of jeans on sale of good value and the cashier was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The mall janitors keep the food court dining tables clean and high security presence throughout the mall. Plenty of parking outside. I enjoyed my time walking around the mall and eating in the food dining court. I would recommend this mall to anyone looking to go to a movie, eat, and/or shop. read more

We decided to walk around the Alderwood mall, get a little exercise and pick up a few things. I love that the mall smells good, they were cleaning the floor as we walked in. I love the smell of bleach. Stop by and do some shopping. read more

I have been going here for a long time. I enjoy the atmosphere and cleaniness of the mall. Lately they remove the kids playground in the mall. Yet, management have no words on getting a new playgerouns for 1 years or toddler to hang out. Kind of dissappointment at management. Makes me wonder if new manager have a child of their. This is like the perfect location for parents to meet for near by restaurant. Kids playground is a place for us to meet and wait. I hope management wil consider put a new playground in soon. I witness couple times teenager and adult male are skiing skateboard in the mall. No securty to be found to stop them. Today Wed, Oct 16, 2024 at 5:16pm a gentlement around 30 years old skating in the mall by Zara and AE. Security walk by. Sid not say anything. I hope security is more well train to handle this situation to approach those skate board person. 3rd point I would like to suggest the mall decorate Halloween, thanksgiving and Xmas. I would love if management make it a friendly place for family to come by. I am sure restaurant near by will have more profit as well. I can count the number of times I visit a mall in a given year, possibly twice but I was really impressed with the layout of Alderwood Mall. Beware if you have little ones this mall is filled enticing children traps from toy stores, indoor play park, clothing, rides, cupcake stands, and plush animal riding bikes. I greatly appreciate the Alderwood staff as they had a sanitizing team cleaning the public play area and rides for the children. There is also a really good selection of stores, if you enjoy shopping at malls or need somewhere for your child to walk around Alderwood Mall is a good option. read more

The food court is very good and has numerous food options, and just about any cuisine you desire, from seafood, Thai Food, Mediterranean Food and list goes on. Really nice mall to visit and around a 2 hour or less drive from the BC border! We visited the premium outlets before but honestly hitting both places either there or back calls for a decent shopping trip. It's a busy parking lot because the mall is relatively big and has a lot of dining, stores and entertainment (AMC and Dave and busters). It's a good mix of medium range stores I'd say but the price conversion from CAD to US hurts a little so I didn't end up buying as much as I'd thought. I'm just trying to walk, I don't need some dude trying to touch my hair and get my attention then berate me when I decline his attention. Been to the mall a good handful of times and it's pretty nice all things considered. Even managed to get a parking space pretty quick at 10am on Black Friday. Home to a lot of good stores like the Lego Store, Boxed Lunch, Hot Topic, Macys, and more. Includes a food court, has a lot of other shops along the parking lot, and plenty of restaurants nearby. It's indoor/outdoor atmosphere is really nice in the summer for creating space and air, but not so happy when I have to go outside for bathrooms on one end (near Forever 21, the board game store, and Cinnabon) when it's raining or freezing out. The "center" with its water fountain is cute, complete with a Starbucks and a cupcake stand, and it's good Court is fairly average for a mall. read more

Our family just moved back to the Seattle area and decided to go to Alderwood Mall because we had lost electricity during the October 25th storm. My son, who is hard on his iPad, needed a new iPad cover, so we visited a phone cover kiosk to find one he liked. My son is on the spectrum and very honest and said he didn't like any of the iPad case covers. My husband, being the kind person that he is, wanted to give them some business, so he asked if he could buy an iPad screen protector. After searching for the right size and putting it on, my husband went to pay for the protector. After we had walked away from the Kiosk my husband told me they charged him $50.00 for the screen protector. I asked him how much they usually are, and he said $10.00. I was so tired of my husband being taken advantage of and not saying anything that I ran back to the Kiosk and said, "My husband would not have paid $50 if he had known that is what they would charge," and the salesperson said, "Well, he didn't ask." I told him that was not a very nice thing to do and walked off. I get so discouraged by the integrity of society and businesses in our world that I wanted to write this review. I guess it is cathartic for me. We tried to buy local and not on Amazon, but we got ripped off. The next screen protector we buy will be on Amazon read more

WE love going to Alderwood once a week or every 2 weeks so that our Husky can enjoy the people and walk indoors, especially when the weather is too hot for her in the summer. She's very friendly and loves an outing ANYWHERE. This is the only mall in WA that I know of that allows you to bring your dog but, they have DOG PAWLICY posted. They must be on a leash, not allowed in food court area and approach people...Funny, Mocha never approaches people but, never fails every time people ask if they can approach her. We love to people watch and I get my 1-2 mile walk in during those days when the weather is not so great. When She's a good girl, the people at Starbucks always have a Pup cup ready for her. As far as the stores, there are a few stores that let dogs in. Look for the signs outside the store that say, Pet Friendly. The mall is not as big as Bellevue or Southcenter but, the people and vibe makes it great for us to visit often. The big stores are Macy's, JCP, Nordstrom. We also appreciate the outdoor stores (mostly Lululemon-dog friendly and REI)and restaurants (Fave-Itty Bitty Sushi) and the AMC theaters across from the food court. I tend to do a lot of online & curbside pickup shopping, which is convenient and you get more discounts (usually 10% more) if you shop that way. For those who love their dogs and your dogs are controlled, don't bark too much and love people...Alderwood is great place for your pups and to shop and eat at. *Tip: come early before the mall opens at 11am, they open the doors by the food court around 1030am or so ..and many daily walkers and window shoppers come at this time when it's not too crowded. If you see Mocha walking around, please stop and say HI! She'll give ya a good Hi-Five and maybe "talk" to you! Haha! Alderwood Mall didn't disappoint. The collection of stores is satisfying and I enjoyed that they were grouped together by store type/style. It was very busy on a Friday afternoon. There are adequate numbers of bathrooms every few stores, and they were clean. I'm my opinion, this mall has a great layout and has a better "walk score" than other local malls. The food court has tons of natural light and seating, with great food options, as well as many dine-in restaurants connected to the exterior. The vacant store fronts or closures were minimal. There's a kids play area that's open. There is multi level garage or open air regular parking. There are electric charging stations and handicap up front and plentiful. Being 90 mins from Canada. It's convenient that there's a currency exchange within as well. read more

Very disappointed to find out, through Management, this Mall allows pets in their "common areas" , as long as they are leashed and "well behaved". Someone was very ill behaved in not picking up their pet's waste IN THE FOOD COURT. Only service animals should be allowed at the mall, because some PET OWNERS cannot be depended on to behave well. read more

So disappointed in mall management. We are in a 20% capacity due to the pandemic. The mall was a mad house. No capacity control until much later in the evening. I worked at this mall for years prior to the lockdowns. It's always been and still is well maintained with a good selection of stores. However, I was not aware that the mall has had limited hours for the past few years. Came in 1030am on a Saturday to only Macy's and some food shops being open. I was shocked to hear the mall opens at 10 but the shops don't open until 11! I was just making a return at a toy shop and I had to wait around. It through me off and my whole day. This is more of a 3.5 stars review. Alderwood Mall had a remodel several years ago, adding the outside stores and restaurants, and for the most part, did quite a good job revitalizing the area. This mall has many more stores for the tween, teen, college age than Bellevue Square. Generally, I find the mall to be quite lively, which speaks well to our economy. Most of the restaurants within the immediate mall vicinity are very chain oriented, not a fan. :P The food court is also full of chains. I usually eat out of the immediate area, especially the Korean restaurants. Parking is usually tight, meaning not necessarily near the store you're going. But I always find parking, especially in the garage or in the area further away from Nordstrom. Traffic arriving at the mall can be challenging, especially during the holidays. As malls go this one is on the nicer end of the spectrum tho it still is a good idea to be safe at any mall in the region (this one was targeted along with several others during crime sprees over the past couple of years). It's a partially outdoor and mostly indoor mall, which is a bit confusing and to me, requires perhaps more driving or scoping around then I might desire; however, it's very attractive and it's nice to have that indoor/outdoor vibe. Holiday decorations are up, which is always a plus, and this mall has a nice water feature along with very spacious walkways and at least one upscale shop (Michael Kors). Most of the shops are the same as other malls but they do seem cleaner and more inviting. Oh and the movie theater is freakin' cool - a giant pseudo-deco monstrosity of a cinema. Grand like a cinema should be. Love it. A relaxed and more upscale shopping vibe than most spots. read more

This mall isn't life-changing, but it has all the basics. If you're looking for a gift and you don't have time to parooze crocheted fruit with custom engraving on a website that will take 8 weeks to send your order then Alderwood will be your savior. One of the better malls in the area, alternative would be Seattle Premium Outlets but that is a outdoor shopping center. Fair amount of good stores and food court is some good options. Worth a stroll. Recommend for outtings. Does get busy on weekends and holidays. read more

My mother was approached in the Alderwood mall by a person who works for "introstem", and was given a sales pitch to buy a product. The sales person proceeded to take her to the storefront which included a spa like atmosphere. My mother is 82 years old this year and has early signs of dementia, this company took advantage of an elderly lady and convinced her that she would not pay any interest on her purchase of almost $4000 of crap products. They used her Nordstrom Visa and she went home to see that the entire purchase was reflected on her Nordstrom Visa. She didn't understand how there was no interest that would be charged so she called the Nordstrom Lisa Company. My family has reached out to the company by visiting the storefront calling a few numbers that they were willing to give us and also contacting Alderwood Mall via formal complaint and emails and visitations. It is what is considered "elderly abuse coercion" and I really hope that this review gets to someone before they or their family are affected by this criminal operation that is allowed in Alderwood Mall. I would bet money Aldereood Mall is fully aware of this stores practices but since it continues to allow them to operate, they don't care. read more

Very let down with santa this year. Prior to covid the other santa that would actual talk and interact with my children was way better. I was so disappointed, if we didnt prepay for photos, probably wouldnt have even got pictures. They did minimum decorations around santa. Bunch of $15 fake trees and their standard dear. We took our friends to take a picture with Santa Clause after they got married at the Court House and I have to honestly say that I was surprised how organized and quick this was! I remember as a kid that taking pictures with Santa took a whole day (or at least it felt like it ), but coming back as an "adult" (yes I had air quotes because I'm still at my mid twenties haha) this took less than 20 minutes! We did the line and in literally nothing my friends were done with their pictures! and I loved that the photographer was in a good mood and treated everyone that came in great! There was social distancing in the line, so really that's why the line can look quite long. Obviously Santa did not have a mask, but they respected the option of people who wanted a picture with a mask! 09.9.2017 We enjoyed visiting this mall with Little O and her cousin, Sophia. It was nice to walk around outside and enjoy the crisp Seattle weather with some stores. This is similar to the malls we have in Orange County, back in Southern California. Aside from having American Girl, this mall had a good variety of stores for everyone, including the "Splat!" kiosk. If silly putty and slime had a baby, it would be "Splat". We HAD to stop there with these two cousins in tow. Personally I loved the 80s music playing while walking outside. read more

We love our mall and frequent very often as we live right here above Dave & Busters. We appreciate being able to go in an hour early and let the kids play in the play area and walk around leisurely, watching the people and buying things we need and love. Pleasant mall with an unusual indoor/outdoor atmosphere that I would expect in Southern California or Hawaii but not in Seattle! Nice to see that for a change. The mall has been nicely maintained and doesn't show its age. The outdoor area is particularly nice to walk around with its fountain and nice landscaping. The indoor area is a little more blah and sterile-feeling, but still not bad. This mall (and the surrounding area) is chock full of your standard American big-box stores. Pretty much anything you need to buy, you can buy in this area. Inside the mall, the stores I usually go to include Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Bath and Body Works, Champ's, Charlotte Russe, Christopher Banks (well, more for my mom, lol), Eddie Bauer (more for my boyfriend!), Express, Forever21, Francesca's, Fuego (love their socks), H&M, Hot Topic, JC Penney, Journeys, Anne Taylor Loft, Lululemon, Lush, Macy's, the Made in Washington store (great place to take out-of-state or international guests), New Balance, Nordstrom, PacSun, Payless Shoes, Pottery Barn, REI, the Savory Spice Shop (I want to buy alllllll the spices), Spencer Gifts, Vans, Victoria's Secret, White House Black Market, Williams-Sonoma, and the Yankee Candle Company. There's also a Lowe's Cineplex nearby, and an American Girls' Store and Cafe that I am so tempted to visit with my ancient Kirsten doll even though I'm in my 30s. Food-wise, there's a food court with the usual suspects, but also your usual shopping-mall installations like PF Chang and Cheesecake Factory. Also Auntie Anne's, Blazing Onion, Box Lunch, Caliburger, ChaatnRoll, Chipotle, Cinnabon, Claim Jumper, Cool Bliss, David's Tea, Emerald City Smoothie, Gyro Express, Jamba Juice, Midici, Orange Julius, Panera, Starbucks, ThaiGo, Villa Italian. There are vegan options at the Blazing Onion, ChaatnRoll, Chipotle, Jamba Juice, and Panera -- I haven't checked for vegan options at any of the others yet. Parking has never been a hassle for me. Big parking lots everywhere. Hmm, what else...there's a Chinese massage-chair place with some dour-looking men who I strongly suspect are in the Chinese mafia. I bet they can crack a MEAN back. They open up the indoor section of the mall for mall-walking exercise before the stores actually open, if that's your thing. (Not ashamed to admit I've done it before when it's raining.) Screaming kidlets can be contained to a little play area as well. All in all, a nice mall and worth checking out. read more

Nice food court area but also has larger sit down restaurants too, and my favorite part is that it is all one level, so it feels less exhausting to navigate! Mall has a nordstrom which is great but otherwise one of the worst malls in the Seattle area. They recently closed all the family bathrooms and mothers rooms in the mall. The free mallplay area always has kids much too old for zone playing aggressively making it unsafe for smaller kids its supposed to be for. The paid play area is never cleaned and great place to catch norovirus. There aren't any other mall options in the northend so no incentive for the owners to put any effort in it. read more

This mall is really convenient, they have all the basic retail stores that you would need. Not 5 stars because of the inconvenience of some stores being located on the outside portion of the mall. It's surrounded by restaurants, the movie theater, Dave and busters, etc. the food court has a good selection of food but the lines are normally really long so prepare for that. read more
