I've been to Daiso in Hawaii and California so I was expecting more. While this location is good for household items, I was disappointed by the variety and selection. I was looking for Sanrio and Tokidoki merch. It was a limited selection of a few trinkets. However, there were plenty of BTS and LINE friend merchandise. I got cable ties, sticky notes and file folders. This Daiso location caters to more practical items, not so much licensed characters and gifting items. I also feel like the shelves here are short, so it lacks space for extra merchandise on the floor. read more

I'm a big fan of Daiso. I go to every single one that I see. I spotted this one across the parking lot from Alderwood Mall and made a beeline towards it. The inside looks smaller than the outside. But that might be because they are very well stocked, which is good. (The biggest store in the area might still be the Crossroads location.) The loot this time (and I really should have taken a group photo but too lazy to re-gather everything now): - Hello Kitty zipper pouch - Hello Kitty finger gripper things - 3 per package - Faux Fur shoe liner - A thin plastic cutting board - pink color! - Hokkaido Red Bean caramels, which are really chewy candy ($2.50) - Caramel corn snacks Every item was $1.50 except one. I didn't have enough time to thoroughly roam this store or I likely would have bought more. Hints: - Every store stock things slightly differently. I can spend some time here just exploring the things they sell and there are SO many! Here you will find the small things that you don't realize you need until it happens. For example: safety pins, more hair ties, nail cutter (bcs we always misplaced them) , more of things we need around the house to keep it nice and organized. This place will most likely have it. Prices are very reasonable. However, you really have to use your own judgment on the qualities you look for. Know what I mean!? Still, it's always fun to come here even when you decide in the end, you don't need anything else or you're one of those who like to collect more stuff that matter to you. I use to love this store when prices were reasonable. A few months ago I noticed their base price had gone from $1.25 to $1.75. Today I visited thinking $1.75 was okay for what I needed, but I was SHOCKED at $2.25! I just wanted a couple of plain white finger dishes, $4.50 for two small items is just too much. I do have complaints about Daiso stores in the US in general because of the prices. The lowest price is $1.50, but there aren't many items for $1.50. Even crappy snack item costs $1.75, $2.00, or even much higher, which is not at all the case. Anyway, getting that out of my system, I can say this Diso location is pretty decent. My favorite location in Washington is the Bellevue store. PROS + This store is of decent size with a good amount of merchandize. + This location is clean and well organized. + Parking is really easy. This store is at the opposite side of Macy's. Between Daiso and Macy's is all parking space! CONS - It's not difficult but it's not the easiest to find this store. This new location is on the mall property, but it is not part of the main building. It's on an edge of the mall parking lot. Get out to the parking lot from Macy's. You will see Daiso in front of you on the other end of parking lot. What's not to like about Daiso? Awesome selection of snacks? Check. Super cute office supplies? Check. Beautiful wrapping paper? Check. Seasonal delights? Household items? Random decor? Check. Check. Check. Daiso is the perfect place to find something that you never even knew you needed until your eyes alight upon it and you realize you've been waiting all your life for that item. This store is fairly large and has a great selection. Getting into the parking lot can be tricky due to mall-rage filled drivers, but otherwise parking is great. read more

COVID-19 update: the only social distancing measures are for the checkout lines. The store is far too small and the isles too narrow for proper distancing to be done. My suggestion would be to have one way isles. Masks required Parking: small shared lot in front of the store. You can park in the larger lots surrounding the area but you will need to walk (not too far). Small Japanese "dollar" store. Everything is $1.50 unless marked otherwise. A well organized and clean store, offering everything from toiletries, kitchenware basics, gardening supplies and more. You could call this an upgraded "Target" of dollar stores. Most items are $1.50 and pricing scale goes up from there. I've paid around $10 each for food storage containers, only to find them cheaper elsewhere. I love coming here around the holidays to purchase one of a kind containers to wrap gifts, and also fun additions to add to birthday gifts (stickers, pens, kids stationary, cute lunch containers, chopsticks, origami paper, and sooo much more). As of 7/17/2020, they are open until 7 pm everyday. One of the local stores I regularly shop. Most items are $1.50, some higher prices. No return or exchange. And that's how it usually works in Japan. I Shop here because I can find things I need at a lot lower price than most other places. Some items are not as high quality as I would like. But things I choose to buy are what I usually buy in Japan. They are the same quality and worth buying. Some examples of my purchase are made in Japan cotton swabs, facial razors, cotton pads for makeup removal, hair bands, erasers, all sizes of binders, disposable plastic lunch boxes, garden tools and of course Japanese sweets. I used to shop at 2-story Daiso in Richmond BC, the store has been replaced by other company and no longer sells items at $2.00 CAD.. sad day.. They had the best variety. If that happens to US Daiso, I don't know what I'd do. I'm always very surprised to see so many products extremely organized in a tiny space. The employees must be hard at work these places. And make sure you ask staff if you can't find some thing. They are very knowledgeable and they'll try to give you an answer ASAP. read more

I love Daiso. But this Daiso experience was not the greatest. The aisles were way too small to get through. Workers were stocking and blocking the way to items. And some of them were probably annoyed of having to do so, they were not polite at all. The shoppers because it was so cramped were rude because they want to go through an aisle but if someone was already there, you would be in their way. I couldn't enjoy my shopping because I felt so rushed by other customers trying to come through. I love Daiso. This location has ample parking + a friendly staff. I've purchased some lovely items for my own usage and great things to send to my niece and nephew. I bought some beautiful Winnie the Pooh washi and really cool Rilakkuma stickers for my postcrossing friends overseas. They sell storage containers, pencil cases, Japanese household items, and much more. There is also no shortage of tasty Japanese snacks like Meiji chocolate bars and nearly every flavour of Hi-Chew! They also have beverages to quench one's thirst. On my last visit I picked up a red bean bun because I was peckish. At first bite, it was STUFFED with red bean paste and it was delicious! Items do move quickly here so if you like something you see, go ahead and buy it. Take care and check its quality (like latches/zippers) because there are NO refunds. Period. read more

This new Daiso has just opened in Lynnwood, right across from the Alderwood Mall on the Macy's side, south of the movie theatre in the little strip mall. I love Daiso and this location is amazing! Tons of stuff for $1-$8 that you can't find in Dollar Tree or other dollar stores, especially art supplies, Asian cooking items, craft supplies, and gardening tools. This location isn't as big as the one in Federal Way, but it's bigger than the one in the Southcenter Mall. Great customer service. Easy parking and lots of it. The only thing about Daiso I would change is their no returns policy. You can exchange items only if they don't work, etc. but no cash back. read more

Manageable size and lots of parking! Best location for them! This newer location for Daiso is my favorite in WA state. Aside from the one in Bellevue it has the most wide range of products. I saw garden items that I had previously only found at the Richmond, BC location. The young people working here were nice and helpful. I was there near closing time and they make lots of helpful announcements so that there isn't a line of people at checkout at any given time. I was pleased with their selection and the manageable size of their store. I will make this my Daiso of choice for all future needs! read more

Nope, not for me. I went in expecting a dollar store type of store but left feeling like I was at the place where unsellable dollar store items go to die. I went down every isle trying to find something that didn't look like junk, I WANTED to find something, but I didn't see a thing. They did have some interesting noodle bowls that might be good, I'll give them that. So in the end, this store looks like nicely merchandised junk that will be in a landfill near you within weeks of purchase. read more

Having spent many childhood summers in Japan, I have an obsession with Japanese art and products. Daiso is the closest you can get to Japanese products at an extremely low price. Products change all the time so if you see something you like, buy it because it might not be there the next time you visit. They carry everything from kitchenware to beauty products to bath products to snacks to stationery and so on. You can easily spend an hour (if you venture aisle by aisle) shopping here, but I wouldn't recommend it at this time when they limit the number of people inside the store due to COVID protocols. A long line tends to form outside the door on weekends. read more

Young male cashier was really rude for no reason. I brought my own Daiso bag, and apparently did not cut the tag off. But he asked if I needed a bag and I handed him my bag and told him from the beginning that it was a bag I brought. He still rang the bag as soon as I told him, then I had to tell him that I had just told him so he needs to unring the bag. I even told him that this is a older bag you Daiso no longer carry, so it is my own bag. Then he continued to ring me up and and when he finished, didn't utter one word but hand me my receipt and quickly walked away without putting my items in the bag, just all sprawled out on the counter. I was really upset and went and asked the cashier next to me and asked if I customers are suppose to bag their items????? Of course, she said no and helped me bag my items but I feel like I was completely mistreated and people like that should not be in customer service type of job. read more

It is like a Japanese dollar store-It is ok. It reminds me of little Korean Gift Shops my mother would take me to as a child to buy my Hello Kitty and Twin Stars stuff (that kids in the early 80's would totally make fun of me for-I just wanted Strawberry Shortcake). I was introduced to this chain of stores when I lived in Santa Monica in an area called Sawtelle...I come here very occasionally if I'm looking for something specific. Things to note: -Products are final sale here. You love it, you buy it, you keep it. -It is dollar store quality items so if you are looking for high quality this place is not for you. It is a lot of disposable items. -They generally do not have multiples on a certain colour or items on products. -It has some fun quirky items. That you may see once but never see again. -Everything here is just a few bucks with some of the bigger items costing more-I think the most expensive thing I saw today was possibly $8. -They have some asian snacks and candies. -They have a small assortment of housewares. I think the last thing I purchased here was mini Chinese New Year's gift bags in CA last March... I do like this store for Asian type Stationary and stickers but really not much else. I did walk around this store for a bit but left empty handed...I just didn't find anything on this visit. The service was really good. I love you guys but please put your stickers on the outside of the dishes and not smack center of the bowl, I can't even use it with that sticker residue. The quality is great for the price but omfg is it a bitch to clean, the only options is to soak it over night or boil everything in hot baking soda water each and every single item....after I just washed them. This place is hit or miss with the selection as the products come and go at the speed of light! I really like the food-stuffs, lots of snacks and far cheaper than any other "Asian" store. (*Eyeballs the place across the street*) Staff is minimal as this store is on the small side, but they seem to keep things well stocked and they are speedy at the check out counter. I can't really complain....much, other than me spending far too much at this place.... lol.... Parking can be an issue, as the lot is pretty small, they used to have a food-truck parked here on the weekends, not sure if they still do. That truck has no association with the store by the way. Love this place so much, it's an elevated version of the dollar store and it's pretty good quality considering the incredible mark down's. Such delicious Japanese snacks, and convenient gadgets and Knick knacks that you honestly probably don't need but it'll make your life a tad bit more better (in my opinion at least.) The service could be better, but aside from that this location is superb. I got to explore Japanese culture with their origami paper, calligraphy tools, obento products, sensu fans, and other traditional items. While most of their items are priced $1.50, there are other amazing bargains. Cool T-shirts for $5! Earthenware pot $14. What I liked is their wide range of items catering for homes with small spaces. In the real world, who has excess space? Here are some cool things I found: chopsticks in their own case, tofu stamp kit, rice ball kit, rice mold in the shape of a plane, numerous rice shapers and cutters, toast deco stamps, plastic bottle holders. For your next carry on toiletry needs: miniature empty bottles, items. Shoe accessories: heels and soles (yeah, you can replace those little heels yourself now), shoe lifts, insoles. Cosmetics: pick up an eye lash case for those eye lashes! Forget Hallmark, get yours here. Seasonal stuff: To beat the heat: Inflatable mini pool ($7), snorkel set ($5). They are also ready for Halloween. While they don't have much of a selection, what they have is cute. Costumes ($8) Who can resist their snacks. While most are Asian, there are some like Harvest Snaps which can also be found at Walmart. The brand Calbee is sold for close to $30 for 3 bags. Get yours here! Daiso is always my fav place to go to for cute Japanese things that other stores don't have. They have a lot of cute supplies and toys with different cute designs like sumikkogurashi and rilakkuma toys, pencils, and notebooks for a cheap price and great quality on most of all the products. They also have a few Japanese snacks and drinks to buy too! All the staff wear masks and socially distance in the store with customers. Service is fine and the inside of the store is pretty organized, would recommend. read more

I would say that the positives here in terms of selection of items is quite nice and favorable along with the employees. The only negative ( gripe) that I have with this location is that there isn't a restroom but I bet that there's one for the employees. Hehe The second is the fact that you can't return any items you buy here so just bear that in mind upon entering along with the restriction of pets, food and drinks yadayada . On my visit in specific today I noticed that they still had their holiday stuff out more than an upcoming seasonal holiday like Valentines up. I love Daiso! I always come out with a bag full of high quality Japanese dollar store merchandise! Today I came away with some neon heart shaped sunglasses with a cute pineapple case, a cat scarf, four pairs of awesome socks, a paint marker, two pastries, and some slippers. All for less than 20 bucks! You can't beat that! And the items you get are better quality than what you would find in a typical American dollar store. I will be back! read more
