Kirkland urban can be accessed from the street side, or the little downtown shopping area side as well. I am giving this little study/office/coffee shop area five stars for a nice little spot to sit down with your computer and get productive. It has unique seating, and a very quiet atmosphere, and lots of nice plans. The bathrooms are also accessible if you ask for a code from the coffee shop.

Kirkland Urban is going to be an awesome place to visit, shop, and eat. Especially once the rest of the stores open. I think it's great that it's not just a bunch of "box" stores. Hosting local businesses such as Mud Bay, Evergreens, and coming soon Chainline Brewing, Dough Zone, Cafe Ladro and more. I can't wait!! I love the new QFC, and who doesn't like Shake Shack. The new Lounge by Topgolf is a blast to eat and play at. Parking is convenient with the parking garage, and it seems like most if not all the shops validate for parking which is awesome. I hope they get the new tenants opening up quick so I have more reasons to come back.

Very confusing. Tough parking. They don't have one good restaurant there. I miss the old Park place shopping center.

I can't say my…read morewallet is happy about it, but I've enjoyed a number of meals here over the years, especially as new spots have popped up. The selection is pretty diverse in terms of types of food - burgers, ramen, pasta, sushi, pizza, Thai (vegan) and more... it's all here! For a little treat, grab ice cream at Salt & Straw, a boba tea from Don't Yell at Me, or a coffee and pastry at 203º Fahrenheit Coffee. It's tough to resist any of these. With this being an outdoor shopping center, it's the most lively during the spring and summer. There is a main outdoor seating area near the cinema and tables here fill up pretty quickly during the warmer months with people who opt for takeout from one of the casual eateries. Across the street, smaller sections of seating are accompanied by fireplaces. I've been grateful for the fireplaces and heat lamps during the wintertime! Other than exploring the food options, I enjoy browsing Nordstrom Rack and could spend hours at the Barnes & Noble. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are also here. Along with these larger stores, there is a variety of small boutique-like shops, providing an opportunity to support the small businesses. As for parking, the main lot in front of Trader Joe's and Nordstrom Rack get pretty crowded, so I'd recommend parking in the garage on the side of Chase bank. Each parking spot in this garage has a light over it that turns red if occupied and green if available, making it really easy to navigate. With spring right around the corner, I'm sure I'll find myself here again shortly!

I initially had some reservations about finding parking since the outer lots were pretty full and busy due to the Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, but as I walked into the middle of the area, I realized that there were also free parking garages that I could have used. Thoughtfully enough, they even had the number of spaces available displayed on the entrances. This place must get super busy to need that feature! I liked how the greenery was well kempt, and how there were navigational signs so you don't get lost. I went to the Paper Source, Due Cucina, and Don't Yell At Me. Super convenient! I guess the only thing I wished it could have was a better way to travel there through public transportation.

Their food/drink stores are also great; they have a variety of different boba stores, which I love! Every store I walk into, I always feel welcomed! I've never ran into any issues or problems at Bellevue Square. I love how they host events for different cultures/holiday events. Finding parking is always easy! The…read morestore selection is incredibly repetitive... just the same upscale yuppy chains over and over so nothing really stands out or feels worth browsing if you're not there to buy generic clothes. On top of that, the layout isn't at all confusing but because everything looks so similar it's surprisingly easy to get turned around and lose your sense of direction. Many of the stores were uncomfortably warm, which made it hard to spend much time inside without wanting to leave. The crowds only make things worse, people seem completely unaware of their surroundings and stand directly behind you, constantly cutting you off or walking straight into you without a second thought. For a place that's supposed to be a premium shopping destination, the overall experience felt chaotic, uncomfortable, and yet boring. In every store, employees kept asking if we needed help, even after we repeatedly said no. Prices were consistently high for no apparent reason, and it was all frustrating enough that we ended up not buying anything at all. One nice thing I can say is that it is very tidy.

Except for the Tesla booth, no one even bothered greeting us... yes, we brought our cute 7-month-old puppy with us. The music booth planted in the middle of everything was so loud it became obnoxious. Then there was the puppy booth with zero signage -- are they selling puppies or are they a rescue? No clue. The only visible sign said "not fully vaccinated," which raises the question: WHY are the puppies there to begin with? They shouldn't be there as a petting zoo, exposed to random dogs. There were maybe around 10 booths total, and at least 3 of them were just photo-op booths. The "doggy care" booth was especially confusing... what exactly are they even selling? Their setup also had real estate advertising mixed in. Overall, it felt poorly organized, underwhelming, and more geared toward Instagram photos than actual pet community engagement.

Service was fine at Woods Coffee and The Container Store; not great, not bad. I was happy that Woods Coffee had Kombuchas for sale, and my Kombucha that I bought there was pretty good. The price was decent for it too, Kombuchas are not super cheap even when buying them at the grocery store, so for a coffee shop in a mall-like area I was satisfied with the price for it. I drink Kombucha often. I love the Container Store, and I could spend hours in there. The selection was excellent. However, despite my enjoyable browsing, I just bought a load of white cardboard boxes that I had pre-ordered to make a maze/playhouse for my cat. I thought his maze/playhouse would look much nicer if I used white cardboard boxes that do not have labels all over them, rather than brown cardboard amazon boxes. Service and selection at the Paper Source were both outstanding. That was my favorite store that I visited here. I bought several items there, and felt super relaxed and welcome while in that store. Very nice area, I would return for sure.

It really felt family friendly and the candy shop upstairs next to the monorail was packed. I remember wanting to hang out on all levels of this mall and there was Crabtree and Evelyn, B Dalton books, and so many options. I even got my ears pierced here 3 x at Claire's. The wing that connect to Subway and Taco Del Mar was also a hang out spot and it was fun to have a Seattle home base to chill. Westlake was next to Macy's, and Gap was cool back then. I didn't shop there but remember the scent of Heaven and the super perfumy scents of the 90's and Tommy Hillfiger and Nautica jackets that I wore. Jay Jacob's was the spot for Tolo and Winter formal wear and Frederick's and Nelson's felt so bougie but special. I could even get all of my specialty 90's Timberland boots. Over the decades, Westlake reminded me of a mall that was taken over by a post apocalyptic crisis. Shops were empty, the decent ones that made malls cool left such as Foot Locker, and random swap meet looking stores and other junky stores popped up. There isn't the same feel and it feels like a random hodgepodge of leftovers. I remember when Lush was in the mall and the whiff of the essential oils made things feel festive during the holidays. With so many stores and shops having to leave, Westlake is still a shell of its former felt. Who knows what it will look like in the next 10 years. If you're from out of town, I would suggest skipping Westlake. Go to Chop House Row, Melrose Market for indie and local and SouthCenter or Bellevue Square for the all American mall experience.
