I was blown away when I saw the peaches-so much better than store bought. This place gave me the opportunity to shop for items I missed on my grocery list. The lady who helped me was very friendly and showed me strawberries which were just freshly picked. Upon closer inspection I showed her a couple that were overripe. She was nice enough to give me a better container. Prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than Trax farms which is a bit further down the street. Corn is in season right now and they had a good selection. They also do canning. Some of the vegetables like broccoli are in the refrigerator on the premises. Again make sure to check when you are buying. I ended up buying my strawberries, peaches, red grapes, fresh from the farm green beans, a red pepper and cucumbers. I snacked on some of grapes and strawberries on my way out and believe me they were very good! When I got home I had some of the green beans-fresh and crisp! Herman farm market is located a short distance away after you pass Mineral beach swimming pool as you head towards Finleyville. Hopefully I can stop here again next time I'm in this area.

This is a place where you need to be careful when you are buying produce. I was a bit disappointed…read morein the fact that they did not have a whole lot to choose from but they did have some unique melons which I had never heard of before. The current "in season" items right now are corn on the cob, tomatoes, peaches, and melons. There is a dairy case but nothing exciting about it along with a meat case. I wasn't impressed with the meats in it nor with the frozen cherries I saw. For the most part you can spend under $10.00 depending on what you get. I was blown away by the huge cantaloupes they had for sale. They were $4.50 each. Unfortunately when I got my selected melon home and began to cut it the juice ran all over the place and I could tell it was overripe. They do have items noted directly from farms. I ended up with a green pepper for $.25. Other peppers were a bit more. For corn on the cob you can get either white or yellow corn. I choose half a dozen white. They come prebagged and the one I selected had an extra ear of corn for free. I cooked one of those up when I got home and it was fresh and good. I was taken aback however when I saw they were selling overriped bananas that had started to turn brown. Normally I would find this type of thing in your regular supermarket but never in a place like this. They sell other things like popcorn and honey and jams to name a few. I was told that their greenhouse is currently undergoing transformation for fall so I really didn't get an opportunity to visit it. I asked about their other location in Cecil and learned that it was basically a nursery as opposed to a farmer's market. It is run by someone else in their family. The staff is friendly and helpful in explaining things to me. Credit cards are accepted on any order over $10.00. It is located on Bower Hill Road as you head towards Bridgeville.

They have some of the best corn around and the selection of produce/veggies is always great. Most of the time the stuff was picked that morning. They have several varieties of pickles and also some jarred sauces that are all delicious. The one downside is that they sometimes aren't open during their posted hours. I was told to check social media for the most up to date information, but did not see anything about closing early the day that I went and they were already closed. Overall, a wonderful place to get produce and support an awesome local farm.

Back at the market (where you catch the hay ride) they had Roaming Bean coffee truck, Kona ice, mini donuts and so much more. A great afternoon for families, kids and adults! The free apple at the end of the hayride was a nice touch too!

There is definitely not enough parking and it borders with a busy Chick Fil A, so that makes it even more challenging. That is why I deducted a star. Otherwise, this is a wonderful location. It is well maintained and well stocked. If one of your favorites isn't there, they can and will look up the status of the product. They can check if it was discontinued, if they have it on order (and when they should have it in stock again) or when they are able to order it again. It is really helpful! They will also let you sample something if you have a question about it. I've only done this once (and it was because they offered). They also often have samples of a product they are trying to promote that week or month. Food quality is fresh and there is a really nice variety of items. I especially like perusing the frozen aisle because there are so many unique international food options like Korean, French, Italian and Greek options just to name a few. The inside of the location is clean, well lit and full of vibrant color. This is a great location (if you are able to actually find a place to park)

Generally a good grocery experience, but lately there have been some issues that have caused me…read moresome grief. The big one, and one of our staples is Organic Pasteurized Milk. Unfortunately, they no longer offer it. They only carry Ultra-Pasteurized Organic Milk, which doesn't taste as good as plain pasteurized. The only benefit to Ultra-Pasteurization is to increase shelf life. Secondly, the freezers have been down for weeks and some frozen items that I use a lot have been hard to get. Sometimes, you have to ask the staff to go in the back freezer and see if they can find it. It the beginning though, they said the back freezer was so full that they couldn't get anything out of it. Lastly, another staple for me, San Francisco Sourdough bread, has been in and out of inventory occasionally over the past few weeks. All of these things are first world problems, and generally TJ's is still an O.K. place . . . Cheers!

We were intrigued so decided to visit both…read more The garden center is actually very nice to walk through with a lot of flowers/plants and shrubs to select from When we left- we went next door to see what the crowds were all about at the creamery. We walked in and they serve Penn state ice cream!!!! There is about two dozen flavors to choose from and they will let you sample too! I had the raspberry truffle and it was sooo good! It's so nice to see something in this space thriving! Give it a try - no excuse - there is ample parking too!
