Beer Selection
Joe S.

OMG how I wish we had Giant Eagle Market District stores where I live now. I remember going to the first one of these and fell in love with Grocery Shopping (that's a lie as I always loved it). Picture your normal grocery store, but with a more upscale decor, food stations where you can have lunch or dinner, more products to choose from, and a pretty slick beer area that manages to get around PA's terrible alcohol buying laws (one of the reasons I left the area). On this trip, I was looking for beer and snacks for the hotel and was able to find what I needed. It was September and there were lots of Pumpkin Beers to choose from. I created my own six pack and had a great time in the hotel! Yinz need to head dahn here, grab a buggy, and shop n' at.

All the cookies for the baskets.

Winnie and her team did it again! I ordered a cake for one of my oldest and dearest friends Anna for her birthday on Valentines Day. I stopped in and visited Winne since she did such an amazing job on ky Christmas cookie baskets! We did a custome cake originally for 6 people of white cake with a strawberry suacr and freshed sliced strawberries inside with the whipped craam icing to taste more like strawberry shortcake. Then she had the outside of the cake to be cocered in white chocalte shavings. About a day before our party had grown from 5 to 9 and she easily changed the order and. Was able to accomodate us to the larger cake. I picked it up exactly when she said it was ready and it was really perfect and elegant. Thanks so much to her and her team. I will be sure to be getting my cakes from now on from Giant Eagle Marketplace Fox Chapel. We currently live in Forest Hills which is A pretty decent deive and there are lots of other bakeries in between but it's her seevice and professionalism that really makes it worth while. You know you cna trust in a greeat product because she oversees the whole thing! Great job agian!!!

One of the nicer Market District locations. Service in the bar area is always spot on, friendly and fast. Whether here for groceries, a bite to eat or to pick up a 6 pack for a party, the experience has always been positive.

I'm a fan of this Market District. I normally frequent the one in Shadyside which is much smaller. I walked in and I was immediately floored. The little station for you to pick up a scanner, pay for your things and then go without waiting in any line is wonderful. The Starbucks stand is located to the right when you walk along with the cafe and alcohol. The prepared food station has a pizza section! A pizza section! There is so much to walk around. Multiple little stands featuring speciality foods and companies. I will be back to this Market District in the very near future and as funny as it sounds, it will be with my laptop.

Fish tacos without shells ... delicious

I had limited time for dinner. I ran in hoped for the best. I ordered the fish tacos without taco shells and ice tea. $13. Not bad. Look at this meal that was DELIVERED to my table with a real plate, cloth napkin, and metal silverware. I expected a takeout box and plastic ware. Good job Giant Eagle. I will be back.

I love this store it's one of the nicest I've seen in the USA but parking is hard because of the volume of customers. The inside is beautiful and well organized. I like the fresh made pizza I get the 2 topping 8 inch for $5.99 plus there's a dining room to sit in. Starbucks is also in the store. If your in the area it's a must stop. Writing a review does no justice to how nice it is.

$410 dollar cheese!

I'm so happy that this is the newest Giant Eagle to be updated and get the Market District treatment! The grand opening was January 22, 2015. Now that the word is out about the place being finished it is always packed and finding a parking space can be a chore. I just don't understand why it took Giant Eagle so long to turn this location into a Market District. They are headquartered in the Fox Chapel/ O'hara Township area after all. It's set up pretty much just like the somewhat larger Robinson location. For people who don't know, The Market District is a more upscale part of Giant Eagle, a supermarket chain based in Pittsburgh. The best way to describe this place is Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Wine & Spirits, Walgreen's and The Strip District all in one place! Take the cheese section for example. Every type of cheese you could think of and even some you have never heard of. Not sure what a particular cheese tastes like? No problem, they will give you a free sample. The amount and quality of the meat department is just mind blowing. Everything from beef to lamb, pork, chicken and so much more! Need some spices for the meat you just purchased? No problem. There is a spice and olive oil section. Vegan or prefer to dine Gluten Free? The Market District has that covered as well. The seafood section is just as massive covering just about the entire ocean. There is also a ethnic area that covers just about the entire globe including Italy, Germany, Spain and Africa. If you don't want to cook and bring home a quick dinner then check out the Cafe. The cafe has every type of food you can imagine. A pizzeria, a hibachi station, Indian, Sushi, a quesadilla station, a coffee shop, gelatos, a salad bar just to name a few. The bakery will even give Oakmont Bakery and Bethel Bakery a run for their money. Lots of different cakes, cookies, pies, doughnuts and so much more. There is even a cosmetic section that carries all the hard to find skin care products like Bare Minerals and Aveeno. I like this Market District location better than the East Liberty/ Shadyside location because it is closer to my house and the aisles here are bigger and finding a parking space is nowhere near as hard. I will be here often!

Margarita pizza from the new Market District cafe (small for $9). Nothing special, but then again, it is grocery store pizza. :)

A nice Market District store in the Waterworks Plaza. As expected, big, clean, well stocked and with everything a household needs.

We saw a nice assortment of beef, chicken, pork, turkey, kielbasa, bologna, burger patties, raviolis, vegetables, prepared salads, breads, pies, cookies, packaged grocery items (e.g., chips, nuts, and sauces), etcetera. We took a number to get in line for the deli meats. We chose a meatloaf, chicken salad, maple sausage links, and chicken patties. The total price was $30. The cashier promptly and politely rang up our purchase. We ate the foods at home. We thought that the foods tasted very good. Catering is also available.

The chicken is delicious and you can taste the difference in quality in the beef, pork and other meats. My favorite thing about Dave's is their willingness to cut a smaller portion for roasts and also if there is not a cut on display they offer to get what you request. The freezer wrapping is just the finishing touch on the reason Dave's shines when compared to other stores in the area. I am glad I have a wonderful butcher close to home that for as long as I can remember continues to provide the best meat. Thank you Dave's and the outstanding, friendly staff. 10 gold stars!

Sausage, roasts, soup bones, meat sticks, chicken, stuffed banana peppers and mushrooms, and many other meats were available. I asked if they had bison. The person helping me said they only had a little bit left. She showed me more bison ground meat and steaks than I have ever seen in one place. She said they butchered a bison and this was all that was left. I stocked up. I look forward to going back and stocking my freezer. Note: They are closed on Sundays.

As I walked around the store, I did not even have time to look at all of the different types of meats. I saw countless types of beef, chicken, pork, lamb, sausage, bolognas, etcetera! I even saw non-meats such as milks, cheeses, fishes, vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and snack foods. I asked my husband to choose meats for his grill for meals this week. He chose three beef-vegetable kabobs and one BBQ chicken breast. The cashier immediately greeted us, rang up our purchase, and thanked us. I think that the prices of the meats were reasonable. Before we even left the store, we were already talking about the "next time" that we will visit Henry's Meat Market! This store has soooo many more meats for us to try! In the following days, we cooked and ate the meats at home. We liked the beef kabobs and the chicken very much.

I ate one lunch here. The exterior of the restaurant could be updated, but the interior looks stylish and clean. An employee promptly greeted me, seated me in a booth, and took my order. As of the time of this review, their website says that they offer 50% off grilled fish on Mondays, and the day was Monday, so I asked the waitress about the price and size of the fish. She did not speak much English, and she nodded and then walked away before I could finish ordering. But that is OK, because the serving size for the grilled fish was huge and enough for me. The Classic Spicy Grilled Fish was brought in a large tray to my booth. I am not sure of the type of fish, but it and its accompanying vegetables tasted delicious. White rice was on the side. Later, I ordered fried sticky rice cake with brown sugar and dipping sauce. They reminded me of donuts with a chewy inside, and I liked them very much. The total price for these two menu items was $30 plus a tip. I do recommend PF BBQ House. I think that this restaurant deserves more reviews and customers.
