I forgot it was Memorial Day--meanwhile, The Mr. is out here telling everyone he's firing up the grill. Total scramble moment. Enter: Aldi via DoorDash to the rescue. I placed a full grocery order: chicken thighs, bacon, scallops, smoked sausage, and sides like kale greens, russet potatoes, plus stuff for a strawberry dump cake. The whole order arrived fresh, accurate, and packaged really well--nothing crushed or melted, which I always worry about with grocery delivery. Thanks to Aldi and DoorDash, I managed to throw together a legit barbecue without stepping foot in a store. Affordable, super convenient, and a real time-saver. Definitely using Doordash and Aldi again next time a holiday sneaks up on me! read more

There is an ABUNDANCE of fresh fruits, vegetables, beer, wine and assorted pantry items. Remember to take a quarter for the shopping basket. You'll need that, along with a reusable bag for your merchandise. The store is very clean and well lit. Staff is both friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this location! read more

This was my first visit to Aldi and my overall general impression was a store that seems neat, clean, and organized. I came in looking specifically for one item, Cacao Powder, that I was told they have. I did a quick search and only found one type of Cocoa Powder, a good deal but not what I was after. So on my way out I took the opportunity to check for some items I regularly purchase and see how the prices compared to the stores I usually frequent. Generally the prices here seemed about like the prices at my regular stores. So since this location is further away for me, I'll likely not be shopping here often. I'm not saying Aldi is a below average store, it's not. I just don't need another store with similar pricing to the places where I already shop. read more

Stopped in to find a product for a family member - no luck. I approached a male employee to ask about it and if he could look at other stores. He said he could look it up, but he was busy (acted like this would take a while) pulling online orders and needed five minutes. Normally this would not have been a big deal if it wasn't for the delivery and tone. He came back a few minutes later to assist me and found two possible stores. It took less than two minutes. read more

The store itself is clean and organized, and typically has everything I'm looking for in stock. My only complaint is that they should really implement the self check out stations that I've seen at other Aldi's. There is usually only one person working the checkout lanes which can cause the store to get pretty clogged up. read more

Aldi's is a international German chain (over 10,000 stores worldwide) that seems to be expanding very quickly in the Metro Detroit area where this particular store has been open for about a year now. We shop here on occasion when we are in the area for fruit and produce which always seems fresh and for their Belgium chocolates which are very good. This store is moderate sized with a little bit of everything but not an expansive selection or any high end products that you may find in other grocery stores. Products are low cost which they achieve through very low overhead like bring your own bags and bag your own groceries to a refundable $.25 baskart rental. Additionally they carry a wide array of their own branded food that comes from the same manufacturers of the major brands where the ingredients are very nearly identical and manufactured on the same line as the brand product. As the Aldi packaging is nearly the same as the major brand it is easy to guess where the Aldi product came from and allows you to compare labels and do your own taste comparison if you have a mind too. Also this store/chain has a decent selection of organics which is a big deal for our family. Overall, our family still prefers the bigger stores with the larger selections but will shop here when in the area and always appreciate the savings we get. read more

I'm so happy that an Aldi is now so close to home! If you are new to Aldi, be prepared....this is NOT your usual grocery store. You won't find many name brands here. HOWEVER, you will find really good food, at REALLY low prices. Their produce -- especially during the summer -- is wonderful! This is the only store where I've found perfectly ripened pears. Until Aldi, I would never think to buy them. Here, even in winter, I was able to find sweet, juicy, pears! ;) I bought peaches yesterday, and they are good too, if a little small. And I bought a dozen of them for all of $2.50. Last week, I went to Dick's Sporting goods for an exercise mat. I payed over $12 for one there. Then, I went to Aldi for my groceries, and stumbled on one of their many 'Aldi Picks', which happened to be an even better mat, for over $2 less. Needless to say, I ended up returning the initial mat to Dick's. They also have really great k-cups, in interesting flavors....at really good prices!! You never know what they will have, but there are always good deals to be found. The normal price of milk is $1.69. A large bag of chips...$0.89. You get the idea! Their products are really good quality. I HIGHLY recommend. Be prepared, though. They keep their costs low in three ways. 1) No cart staff; 2) No bagging staff / free bags; 3) Very few name brands. So, bring a quarter for a cart. Return your cart and get your quarter back. Bring bags. Be prepared to bag your groceries after you exit the check-out line. There is a LARGE area for you to bag your groceries on your way to the exit door. read more

A shiny new Aldi location. I was there on day 3 so staff were still getting used to things, but everyone was very friendly and operated with the usual Aldi speed. If you're new to Aldi, as everyone seemed to be the day I was there, you need to remember 4 things: 1) Bring a quarter to get a cart. 2) Bring your own bags 3) They don't bag your groceries - they put them in your cart at breakneck speed so put your stuff on the cart from heaviest to lightest 4) Those knockoff brands? Most, if not all, are made in the same factories as your national name brand favorites. They are pretty much always as good or better. Their specialty stuff is always good. I've been an Aldi shopper since 2003. Take a chance and you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

Ok this Aldi is awesome!!! Soooo much bigger and more updated than the one closest to my home. Their wine and beer section is amazing! And you can find all your favorite fruits, vegetables, deli selection, meat, and frozen goods at a low, reasonable cost. Will be back to this location when I'm back in the area. read more

I'm a regular at all the expensive markets in the Bloomfield and Birmingham area but I've switched permanently to this sweet Aldi location in Bloomfield Township. The organic and regular vegetables are much less expensive and much fresher than Kroger or Costco nearby and I'm quite impressed with all the offerings! I've tried many of their own branded foods and they are very good quality. The coffees are all excellent. This store is a great addition to the grocery scene in my area and my new destination for almost everything but PARSLEY! And where else can you buy a half gallon of almond milk of great quality for under $2! read more

I was searching for an additional set of Kettlebells. This store- along with others was out. The manager, Kim, eagerly assisted me and searched other stores. She called and reserved them for me to pick-up. It was above and beyond what I expected and am appreciative of her efforts. read more

This is a good Aldi location, not only because it's new but it always is clean and usually had the items I'm looking for. The only thing that stinks is there's only ever 1 cashier at any time of day with other workers wandering around when they see lines in the middle of the store. So when you only have 3 items and have to wait for the person with a whole cart it takes at least 20-30 minutes of waiting. Other than that I like Aldi. read more

I have regularly been shopping at this Aldi since they opened and I have loved it, but my visit today left me with a terrible feeling. There was a new cashier with a yellow "In training" sign on her register who was extremely rude. She didn't greet me, had a dreadful attitude, she THREW my grapes in my shopping cart, rang me up for a packet of brown gravy I didn't even buy, and overall shouldn't be working as a cashier. You guys always have the nicest cashiers, I'm really confused as to how she got hired. I understand bad days happen but I don't think I'm going to be able to come back after this experience. read more

I did not like it at all. I felt like it was an attempt to defraud. They have all these copycat generic brands that are stylized to look like name brands such as Land o Lakes half n half and fake Coca-Cola. I can't image how they avoid getting sued for trademark infringement. You also cannot use a shopping cart unless you know in advance to bring a quarter. Most prices were terrible ( one exception was real coke stacked next to fake coke for 99 cents.). It seems like shopping at the dollar store or biglots for food instead of a real grocery store. My friend wanted me to add that the vegetables looked old; not fresh. read more

This store is so welcome here, where there aren't other stores with such good prices for organic and non-GMO products. Plus the simple idea of returning your own cart and providing your own bags makes us more responsible as consumers. Some other Aldis feel like dollar stores, but these new ones rock. read more

I love this store. clean and new, opened in December 2018. Produce is extremely fresh. Wide isles. Good dairy and the meat is fresh. Great prices. Staff is very friendly, helpful and customer oriented. Aldi is associated to Trader Joes. Both are great stores. I will continue to shop there. I would suggest Aldi to anyone looking to save money on good food. read more
