Right away, I noticed that Plum Market is definitely on the pricier side. I understand that, higher-end products, better selection, etc. so I was open to it and willing to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, the checkout experience completely turned me off. The cashier didn't say hello, didn't acknowledge me during the transaction, and didn't even say thank you at the end. It was just... nothing. For a store that charges premium prices, I expect at least basic customer service, and that was missing. Because of that, I won't be returning. I've had much better experiences at Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace and Westborn Market, both have great products and friendly service. I'll be sticking with places like those moving forward.

The entrance doors were cloudy, like they haven't been cleaned in forever, and the floors were filthy -- they seriously need a deep clean. I wasn't even there for five minutes before I wanted to leave. Then at checkout, the cashier told me to put my groceries on the belt, but said it wasn't working and pointed to another spot. That area was so dirty I refused to put my food there. I told her it needed to be cleaned, and she didn't say a word. I ended up handing her my items just so I didn't have to touch it. That was it for me. I will never go back. I've already started going to Plum Market across the street, and it's a night-and-day difference.

My biggest complaint is no cashiers and checking out my groceries while an employee watches me and then thanks me. Management, are you reading these reviews? This area deserves so much better at this corner. Go over to the Nino Salvaggio at Maple and Telegraph to see a well run store. It would not surprise me if this store is on the way out. The average price in Michigan for organic Cauliflower is under $5. Hollywood is going broke right now and trying to keep a float by over charging their customers. I used to go there because of convenience and the prices weren't that bad. Now I can't even run there if I forget cheese because it's so overpriced. It's very upsetting that this company is taking advantage of their customers.

This happens on Tuesdays at the Rochester Hills store and Wednesday at the Birmingham store. They have BOGO Fridays where you get one free French Baguette, Scoop & Bake Cookie or Scone Dough after a purchase of the same item. I would try to take advantage of as many deals as possible here as things aren't exactly cheap, but the quality speaks for itself!
