Long Lake Market is one of those places that is getting harder and harder to find. My husband and I always loved stopping in because everything was so fresh, clean, and thoughtfully put together. So many small markets end up feeling cluttered or like the products have been sitting around too long, but Long Lake Market was never like that. Everything always looks like someone truly cared. Their prepared meals taste homemade. Around the holidays, their side dishes were incredible too! They have a great meat selection and MI items and just so many unique products that you don't see at the bigger grocery stores.The quality is always there, and for us it is worth it when we want something really good. If you have not been to this market, you need to go there; Today! You pass it all the time, just as we did. The parking is easy, convenient, the shelves are beautifully stocked. The selection is abundant. But you haven't lived until you've been to their fresh meat counter. The butchers know their products and the meat, fish, poultry is the freshest. We stopped in today for some protein and could not decide between the lamb chops and the rib eye steaks. We took both. Tonight, we made the lamb chops and they were simply amazing. We could not wait to post a message on YELP and we also contacted Long Lake Market to pat them on the back. People should know when they do things well, but all too often, customers only communicate when something isn't to their liking. I should also mention that the market is well-appointed, easy to find items and there is always someone to help you. This is my new Go-To market. It has a neighborhood feel and they value your business. If you are not patronizing them, you are missing out. You might pay a couple of coins more on some items, but the ambiance, service, quality is where the value is. Stopped in here on the drive to Ann Arbor. It's a cool shop and the folks in here are sincere. There's a lot of effort on their part in conveying that to the customer, both in the product they prepare and service provided. Their higher-rating is an accurate reflection of this. Went with the Classic Long Lake Club w Bacon ( Turkey, ham, cheddar and the goods on wheat ). Everything tastes fresh. I'm not a personal fan of cheddar but I understand why they put it with the turkey. The bacon adds. $ 10.99 but it's a meal-and-a-half. Again super people here. read more

This is a really cute little market in Bloomfield Hills. Because of the location, things are a little bit more pricey, but the quality is definitely there for the sandwiches, salads, Meat and Deli items. They have just a few aisles of your staples. I think a lot of people that come to this Market either work in the area, or have been coming here forever. It's family-owned and the people that work here really appreciate the customers. On multiple occasions I've seen many generations of family come in. Just the other day there was an older woman who I heard say was 90 in the store with her 70 year old son and his 47 year old son. I mean that's amazing that they've probably been coming there forever. The employees knew them all by name and offered to take their groceries out to the car for them. They didn't just do that because of the age they did it because that's what they do in a small store. I like the feel of that and because of that I recommend it. I'm a big advocate of shop small and sometimes that does mean you pay a little more. There's a Kroger across the street so if you don't like the prices here, you can just go there and get what you want. But if you're looking for a nice lunch item if you're in the area to take back to your work, or just some good quality produce or Meats along with your water or ice cream, I recommend. read more

I grew up shopping at the market, if you can get over the high prices (it is bloomfield) then you will love this place. For being a smaller market, they pack a ton of stuff in there! Their meat is the freshest around. I love the premade section as well. The people are friendly and happy to advise. They have everything from gourmet pasta sauce to cleaning supplies, to fresh produce. Their lamb chops are the best in town, with a hefty price tag, but exquisite. We always come back. read more

Fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice. Fabulous. This is the only place I know of where you can get it this way: They squeeze it, bottle it, and refrigerate it. That's all. No other place to get it this way. Unless you do it yourself at home. I've moved across town but I still drive here to get it. read more

Today, I decided to stop in and visit the butcher department as I had some special requirements to make a pate, which needed sheets of porkfat. The folks behind the butcher counter (I believe the gentleman's name was Derrick) could not have been more accommodating, despite the fact that I requested an item that's hardly used anymore, at least not by the home cook. Of course, I was more than happy to purchase the other more standard items that I needed. The meat counter was extremely attractive and I filed away some ideas for future purchases. read more
