From farms and farmers markets, especially around the holidays when possible. But for now, I'm liking Aldi for it's specialty items that aren't the run of the mill grocery store stuffs . Apparently there are people coming to see, so I'm the cook again, which is fine by me, but I live with the animals and they're allergic to everything that moves and I'm not sure what they're thinking but I agreed anyway. So extra sweet potatoes ($1.79 for a nice net full, approximately four pounds, butternut squash is well priced as well. I'm quite ambitious and can throw down big time in la cuchina, but living in an RV can limit ones culinary prowess. Tom Turkey (or Tina) has a two day spices citrus brine ice bath to be plunged down into the awaiting five gallon pail. Absolutely love the chicken salad and the egg rolls but the refrigeration units have been down for…read morea month+ where they are kept. A neighbor told me they had cut them by the meat in the back. I went and couldn't find them. Asked the manager where they were and he stated in the back. They didn't have any on the sales floor and he didn't offer to get them for us. Went to Checkout, Mary asked if we found everything and we told her about the chicken salad and eggrolls. Paid for my groceries and went to leave, she came and stopped me and said her manager would get them for me. When he brought them up to my surprise it was the same guy who hadn't offered. So Mary's great customer service got Aldi an additional $18 on sales and a very happy customer. Mary is a keeper!!!
