I recently discovered this supermarket because it's right next to the gym that I use. There is a large car park with plenty of parking directly outside the supermarket. The entrance is large and disability friendly. The unique aspect about this grocery store is that it has a very large selection of Hispanic items that you might not find in other stores - from produce to spices and dried goods, to their specialized bakery section. It also has a large selection of quality fresh produce, a meat and fish counter, and a hot foods counter with a small seating area. The store is bright, has a nice clean vibe and is usually busy. Each week there are manager specials that are a very good deal (they change every week). Some items can be higher priced than normal, but also a lot of items are cheaper - so overall really good mix. I wish they carried more organic/pasture raised meat items. read more

Finally a truly stocked international grocery store has opened in Sarasota. Prices are competitive and the fruits and vegetables are diverse and super fresh. With Latin American, Caribbean, Japanese, and Eastern European countries represented with both canned and fresh international products, you can create any recipe. Aisles are well lit and spaces for 2 carts heading in opposite directions. Need some pots, pans, cooking gadgets specific to our Hispanic culture, Imusa products are fully stocked. Staff is bilingual and friendly. Restroom is clean. Plenty of parking in this old Publix lot. Glad to have this diversity a short drive from my house. read more

Apparently the staff at this store have decided that they only want to serve and be kind to you if you speak Spanish to them at the check out. I speak three languages, one being Spanish, but I have the right to be treated with respect and decency if I choose to use my native language in America. This is what is called reverse racism when people are discrimanotory. I left the store furious. I never treated members of the public that way in my job as I had bills to pay and had a larger vision of the future I strove for and was raised and educated with higher standards than this cashier. I said hello as I put my items on her line and she did not even respond. She said a few words in Spanish to the guy in line behind me I assume about me which I didn't follow. I have traveled all around the world to Latin countries in which I had great experiences but if you are going to allow for this unacceptable immature intolerable behavior by your staff you need to sit them all down (as this isn't isolated to one staff member this is toxic group thinking) that this behavior is completely unacceptable and will be met with termination of employment. Not only are these childish energy sucking vampires disturbing my right to peaceful enjoyment while giving an establishment my hard earned money BUT they are taking away business from your store! We live in America, English is our first language, if the employees are acting that way Americans who have the money will not shop at your place of business and you will loose a LOT of business. This happened to me in another Latino store on 17th and I brushed it off but this cashier was even more rude and I refuse to be treated in this manner. You need to assess every....employee of your grocery store and have a serious sit down that they are not in the business of putting their victimhood politics on to ANY customer irregardless of the customers' national origin. How hypocritical that they are the racists and they are the RUDE ones. She should be fired immediately as an example to others in the store to get their acts together. This was beyond maddening. I entered that store in a great mood and left furious. I will not tolerate such behavior from anyone. She thought she could get away with it because she HAD for years! This is NOT ok. read more

I was able to buy a ton of fresh fruit, meat cuts, and two and a half dozen eggs for a really good price! Especially for here in Sarasota. They also had a wild sale on limes for the Cinco De Mayo holiday weekend. Will definitely start shopping here more! read more

Didn't buy any groceries but the food in the back is all flames for pennies. Whole bunch of rice. Three kinds. Add juicy beans on top, fried plantains and like 10 different meats. I got the chicken. Worth it no question. read more

Ridiculous prices. I estimate that their prices are 50% higher than competing grocery stores. The people that shop here are generally Hispanic immigrants and most likely don't have enough money to fill a shopping cart, due to the ridiculously overpriced groceries here.
