Visiting ALDI was an experience for me today 11/21. I see how they lower prices, which is an awesome concept. While I was there I did some comparison with stop and shop on the app. I did see that ALDI had lower prices on many items. The part I didn't like was the scam for the turkey. Spend $40 and you get a turkey. They were out of stock on items so different item was chosen. So the person that has a very nasty attitude rolled her eyes when the question was asked, why wasn't the turkey included. She started saying it was charged per pound, meanwhile that was never stated on the flyer. Some people like to shop here while others love to shop here. I thought about coming back for the prices ... Nah I'm good! I just can't bring myself to tolerate the set up. Oh well, the shopping spree continues. Inspire more. Yelp more! read more

Recently started going to Aldi. Candy section is good. Prices on some produce items also good. Biggest issue is the cashier lines and no self checkout. Which can be a deal breaker. Store could also be better organized. Parking situation is great. Carts with coins definitely annoying. Took our visitors from Australia today and they said the store did not smell clean, compared to the Aldi in Melbourne. read more

When the Aldi opened near me on Glen Cove Road, I was ecstatic! It has wide aisles and is bright. The choices of food are good, but not always up to par. The service is hit or miss. I've been lucky for the most part with helpful and kind workers. The location it's in is killer. There's plenty of parking, but being around Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road is always a nightmare. And does anyone besides me ever have a problem getting a cart? I put my quarter in, and can never release my cart. Luckily there's always a kind customer to help or I track someone down who's about to return their cart, then give them my quarter. I'd say go just to look at the place even if there's nothing you want to buy. Guaranteed you'll come out with a few shopping bags full of stuff. Bring your own bags and enjoy. read more

ALDI - Weekly ad for 9/4/24 - Grocery Near Me - Carle Place, New York

I've never been to an ALDI so I wanted to pop in and see what was going on here. It was really interesting to see the variety of products here. They seem to sell some name brands but also some... knock off brands? Like fake Frosted Flakes ("hey that's not Tony the Tiger....") and there was this whole shelf of energy bars that looked eerily similar to Cliff bars but it wasn't. It was very entertaining to walk through the aisles. They sold Sugar Bomb cherry tomatoes which I like and was half the price of the ones I get in California! read more

First time at ALDI's it was a good visit. ALDI has the best prices, so far. There is not much variety but it is good. Loved the "sweets section". Aldi has parking, self checkout as well as cashiers. This was my first experience at the Aldi in Glen Cove, and unfortunately it wasn't a good one. The store layout made it hard to find the items I needed, and for a while I couldn't locate any staff member to ask for assistance. The food seems to mostly Private Label / Store Brands, around 90% of Aldi's products are its own brands. Which helps keep prices low, but the quality is taken seriously Aldi tests its products. When I finally found someone, one lady was very helpful, and I appreciated her assistance. The environment isn't designed to feel upscale. It's about practicality and keeping costs low. Bagging is selfserve; carts require a quarter deposit, which reinforces the no frills model. The checkout experience was disappointing. The cashier wasn't friendly and didn't answer my question. Luckily, the supervisor stepped in and took the time to answer it, which I did appreciate. Overall, my first visit had a couple of positive moments, but the difficulty navigating the store and the poor customer service at checkout left me unimpressed. I've been coming since the store first opened. I loved coming in and grab my groceries and self check out . Now I have to wait online for 20 minutes at the back of store to have 2 cashiers ring my order. The store looks like a tornado went through . Sad to see a good market go down hill . If you value your time I would support shop and stop . They hire employees to service its customers. read more

We finally got a LIDL and now we have an ALDI in the next town to me. Perfect. I am glad that ALDI came to Carle Place. This is a big-bright-spacious store with wide isles and plenty to choose from. The shopping center they reside in is big with plenty of parking and EV chargers for your Teslas, Electric cars, and plug in Hybrids We've been here a couple of times now and managed to buy a fair amount of groceries. Remember... This is not a King Kullen or Stop and Shop. It is not the place to come for all your name brand items. This is how they're different. They move a lot of product here. Very simply displayed. They also have nice wide isles. Makes it easy to move arround This is not a flashy store. Works for me... Less glitz more value pricing. They cut the box and put it on a shelf. Again, just another way to save us some money on our grocery bills. They also have a very comprehensive supply of meats here too. There are no butchers, fish counters or bakeries here. All the food is packaged in refrigerators and freezers. Most brands are house brands, hence the ability to save some money on your shopping bills. Bakery items are all packaged. Remember to bring your own bags, they are not supplied by Aldi. PLenty of self checkout stations and a few live cashiers. I think they'll do well as people become accustomed to their methodology and I definitely recommend this store. read more

No cashiers, self-service checkout can be frustrating. No signs telling customers where to wait for next available checkout stand. No employees to guide customers. I made the mistake of shopping on the weekend. Front end was a free-for-all with customers jumping in front of each other trying to check out. No more weekends for me. read more

Opening day has finally arrived. So far so good. Aisles are neat, great selection. I'm just happy I no longer have to drive to Valley Stream as this location is 5 min from me. My only complaint which they have no control over is the parking. This parking lot stays busy and crowded due to all the stores over here. Store experience review: store is clean, employees are friendly. 1st day cart was free (remember your quarters). They gave out reusable shopping bags and coupons effective today: however the cashier said they will not be activated until tomorrow so you have to use them in another shopping trip. They should have led with that statement because some ppl were buying $30 for the $5 off. That is disappointing and needs better planning. I did raté them 5 stars because although the coupon was a bust the prices are great for people on a budget! read more

Clean, affordable, and quality no-frills market. Make sure you have a quarter on hand. You'll need one to unlock a shopping cart. Was very confusing at first. This store doesn't have everything. But its prices for certain staples like milk, egg whites, bread, and some fruits and vegetables can't be beat. Bought a large never-frozen salmon fillet that looked beautiful and at an excellent price. I avoid junk and processed foods and instead eat a diet of mainly whole foods. Now, to eat whole foods you don't have to go to Whole Foods and go bankrupt! Check out their circular online for weekly deals. Regular non-sale prices are pretty good already. read more

Great store with excellent alternatives to brand names. Milk is cheap here. They sell a chocolate bar that's as good as Lindt. Their cheeses are great too. I buy most essentials here as they are good quality and cheap. This place beats out Lidl as their store brands are high quality. It helps they own Trader Joe's. read more

As you walk in you don't get a big impression, the store looks like a warehouse, nothing eye-catching about the layout or shopping experience, however, I was not disappointed with ANY of my food purchases, except maybe the everything bagels. Food quality was excellent! Everything tasted good or even to the point, outstanding! All my food had superior freshness and taste. The sales associate and cashiers who help me are much nicer than at Lidl in Garden City Park location. The milk was super fresh, they carry excellent spinach artichoke dip, various delicious goat cheeses, they had salmon lox that was like butter and woven whole wheat crackers, croutons, blended orange juices were all excellent!! One clerk who was doing stock in the meat department actually stopped to ask me if I needed any help and he actually went to the back stockroom to check on not just one, but three items that were not available on the shelves! I don't get that kind of service at the Garden City Park Lidl! The only thing that they lose points for was not carrying certain items or not having a wide selection considering the size of the store. Also, the store layout is not only confusing, but also not an entirely fun task due to the no windows-warehouse vibe and enormous size of the store. If you already know where things are and what to buy before coming, then you shouldn't have any problems, it's an easy in and out process. The layout of Aldi's website is not as good as Lidl's. read more

I knew that I had made a mistake when I went to grab a cart and there was a mass of people trying to get the chain out from the line of carts, realizing I needed a quarter and had no change...it only got worse from there. All I can say is that Lidl is a similar, but much nicer shopping experience and you need not carry "case quarter"... read more

Rude check out girl!! First time & last time at an Aldi. I had a ton of items and the check out girl from her seated position grabbed my cart from my elder father - who was leaning on it for support (as we put his cane inside the cart) to pull it close to her. So we were about to find out the hard way, they bag differently here and he asked why she did that & without saying anything she gave my dad a rude look and ignored him. So instead of putting rung up items into a bag or allowing us to bag them, they put them back directly into your cart, then you need to go & move them into your bags. They add this extra step to help their check out lanes move faster. What like 3-5 minutes per large orders saved. Aldi needs proper training of its employees on how to interface with their clients. No hello, no smile , no welcoming sense from any of the employees seen throughout the store- all like zombies then this checkout girl was it!!! NEVER again. Back to Lidl or Stop & Shop or anywhere else - we got options people. I will no longer put up with rude cashiers from anywhere! read more

I love this Aldi and I'm so happy that one opened near me! This Aldi is so clean and well stocked. There were also so many brand names (compared to other Aldis) sold way cheaper than other grocery stores. They even have Grillo's pickles!! This Aldi also had self checkout, which was awesome. My friend and I got the Aldi brand Easter Cookie House and it was so fun to build!! read more

It's 25 cents to get a shopping cart, which makes no type of sense because you're coming here to spend money anyway

Maybe i'm not going at the right time in the evening but this store is always mostly empty. Also they close early at 8pm on weekdays and the workers stand over you at self checkout to make sure you're hurrying up so they can get out. That was super awkward and annoying. read more

I normally actually like this place and they have a pretty decent selection, but today I threw out foul smelling raw pork that still had 3 days apparently on it before I needed to toss it or cook it and then one other giant piece of meat that cost me $25 also stunk, but I decided to try to wash it off and cook it, since it had 4 days left on it and well that was a complete loss... So my recommendation is come here if you want to buy rancid meat. read more

Very good frozen items. Rack of lamb was a great buy! Buying unfamiliar brands have resulted in some favorites & some rejects!
