"Why spend money when you don't have to" is my motto. I probably should put that in my Yelp profile somewhere because it's true. Another one is "Money is to pay people to do things that you don't want to do yourself" but I digress. We're here at Aldi, where it's all about less expensive groceries and produce. They trim their costs by not having big fancy displays or endcaps, with a very limited selection (typically only one brand of an item and only in one size) and a limited staff (typically two cashiers, a stocker and a manager). You need to have a quarter to get a shopping cart (you get it back when you return) so that they don't have to invest in a cart wrangler or tie up parking spaces with cart corrals. The staff at this location is friendly and efficient and no, they don't bag your groceries for you. It's back into the cart and then you get to bag 'em up yourself out of the way. Most of the stuff is from brands you will never have heard of, but in almost all cases a bottle of ketchup is a bottle of ketchup and a jug of milk is the same as any other you can get at the Teeter or Wally World. If an Aldi shop is convenient for you, why go anywhere else to spend more? Maybe some don't like this low cost method of doing business, but that's fine. You're paying more to enjoy that convenience and "higher touch" shopping experience. You'll want to bring your own bags, as Aldi charges for those. In the past so many people would sleep on Aldi. I've been coming here for quite some time now. Stock on fruit was pretty low today. So I only left with apples and oranges. Lines to check out are always long and only 1 or 2 open. Don't forget your shopping bags or grab a few boxes as you are shopping. Oh and a quarter for the shopping cart because I always do. I have such mixed emotions about Aldi. Ok, here's the upside: their products are cheap, and most of them are surprisingly high-quality. I find their wares to be on about the same level as the Harris Teeter store brand, if not a little better. And by cheap, I mean pretty cheap: a bottle of grade-A maple syrup for $3.99? Individual yogurt cups for $0.35? Yes, please. Here's the downside: well, it's Aldi. The employees are efficient and quick at the register, but you're not going to find any on the floor when you need help. Many of the other customers like to park their carts in the middle of the aisle and look around slack-jawed, as though their desired items will magically appear before them. Children tend to run around uncontrolled. I once had to ask an (adult!) couple making out in front of the freezer case to move THREE times before they scurried along. Additionally, the produce is hit or miss. I shop at Aldi almost every week because it truly saves us a lot of money without obnoxious coupon clipping. I just my fellow Aldi shoppers exercised a little more common sense. read more

Drinks were very poorly stacked on an upper shelf in broken boxes and they fell and smashed my foot. Fortunately there was no permanent injury. But ALDI and their insurance company refused to pay me for my medical expenses. $145 and they just denied it with no explanation. That's horrible customer service and I will no longer shop there and suggest that no one else does either. If you need cheap groceries there are other safer places. read more

Aldi is such a great way to save money on groceries. Ever since they switched their produce to all organic, it has really improved. I always make a point to buy cheese, eggs, and milk here. Its cheaper than anywhere else. I pretty much like everything they sell. Don't forget to bring your own bags and a quarter for your cart! read more

The cool thing about Aldi is when I got a chance to Germany it cool to see them there it made feel like home to see someplace I shop. Aldi is cool grocery store that is really reasonable. It's a great place to get veggies and fruit. Prices are not bad. Just remember to bring a quarter and your own bags. The quarter is for the shopping cart you get it back when you return the cart. If you don't bring a bag you can buy them there or just carry them in your arms. read more

I have been going to the store all D's it was says it has been built on Albemarle Road they only have one good Manager long time ago stores it was well stocked and clean his name was Greg after this still has been going down the hill is now at the bottom of the hill. You cannot go in the store after 2:00 PM the Shelves are empty produce is empty so much for fresh delivery fruit and vegetables every day not happening in this location I think they put out stock at night or in the morning and that's it once a day the store looks dirty somethings need to be pulled to the front empty boxes need to be out of the freezer raider. This is unacceptable this neighborhood deserves better looks like the storages rakes in the money and back to you about its customers this is just awful awful awful. Cannot beat the prices! This store is neat and clean, as well as having great employees.

This is the second time I have come to Aldi's during their posted hours only for them to be closed. The first time was for a snow that never happened, but it's 70 degrees and sunny this time. My opinion of them is slipping. It was 5-star. Now it's 4. Let it happen a third time, and I won't come back. read more

We shop at Aldi's once a week and they have really inexpensive food and I do most of my shopping there but what we can't find at Aldi's we have to go to Wal-Mart for. They used to have the small steaks in the box-they don't carry them anymore and so now we have to look at Wal-Mart for steak especially since they closed the Sav-a-lot across the street where you could find inexpensive meat since their meat is kind of pricy. I like their bread, milk, peanut butter, fruit and yogurt and cheese, cereal but I do not need a whole bag full of onions or potatoes or whatever other kinds of veggies they have or apples etc so I will go to another store where I can buy just a few because they will go bad and I am just cooking for two people. The other week we got a good deal on a futon and they did help us carry it to the car so I appreciate them doing that for us. I would recommend it. It saves us money. read more

I love the newly updated Aldi market. It's spacious and you can look look at items and shop without feeling that you are always in someone's way. I wish they had more items stocked regularly like gelato as I can never obtain it at this location unless they don't carry it anymore. I was also a little disappointed that they do not carry more fresh meat. Maybe I went at the wrong time which was late Sunday evening. Cashiers are always friendly and do a great job getting you checked out as quickly as possible. Looking forward to additional new items since the store has more shelf capacity. read more

I've been disappointed in the renovated store. The staff is loud, rude and not very helpful. Not enough of the products or none at all that I shop Aldi's for. Very turned off by staff members. read more
