Besides getting groceries at a Super Walmart, Lidl is also nearby as a choice. The store is smaller than most full-scaled grocery stores but it is clean. It doesn't carry most major brands but the prices are fairly priced and there are choices between products you are needing. I was not aware that bags cost 12 cents at the checkout. Bring your own bags when shopping unless you choose to purchase their bags. Overall, a decent store to pick up essentials but it will not carry all major brands. read more

I'm a huge fan of this German invasion of supermarkets. Between Lidl and their competitor Aldi, they are making things better for grocery shopping in the Charlotte area. This one is in a busy shopping center at Derita and Christenbury that has an Earth Fare close by. Clean, organized, well stocked. I was looking for some of the leftover Easter candy that my wife loves and I found two bags - crystalized ginger in dark chocolate drops - and bought both. I'll be looking for this next year for sure. As well, a couple of steaks, some bottled fizzy water, blocks of sharp cheddar cheese and mushrooms and more on our list. Having lived in the EU for some time, I am very familiar with this chain of grocery stores. I am so happy to see them expanding in the States. The aisle are well lit and expansive, and these stores are run with a German like efficiency that I can appreciate. Though you don't have to squint hard to see the similarities between Lidl's and Aldi's, the lines are much shorter at Lidl. That's a difference your Lidl liebchen likes. The dry goods and sundries beat most prices locally, but many of them are brands that are not well known locally. That doesn't bother me, because the quality is unquestionable. They don't have the bells and whistles of most of the American grocery stores. There is no hot coffee available to purchase, no deli or bakery counter, and just like in Europe bags come at a cost. This is more eco friendly than heaping more of those thin plastic bags on the environment. This style is perfect for the shopper who likes to get in and out. That is me all the way, and I appreciate getting fair prices and quality items as I do so. read more

I had to do a quick review on my neighborhood store especially in the way they have COVID precautions set up- really great! I usually pop in here if I need something last minute because the prices can sometimes be a bit more than my usual Aldi. I'm always wary of the self check in here after a few past experiences but they have definitely improved that. read more

There are very few things I miss about Charlotte since moving to Jacksonville but Lidl is easily in my top five...maybe even top three. Please Lidl, expand to FL so I can frequent your bougie-on-a-budget stores again. Lidl is like Aldi on steroids. It's like Aldi's bougie sibling. Its locations are ever-so-slightly bigger in square footage. While Aldi also offers a wide selection of international and specialty foods and household goods at low prices, Lidl offers twice as many and actually more at even lower prices. For example, I recently spent $8.45 on 2 Maryland-style crab cakes from Aldi (an increase from $6.99 in November) compared to $4.64 for FOUR similar crab cakes from Lidl. Another thing that sets Lidl apart from its sibling Aldi is the in-store bakery that greets you as soon as you walk in. I always buy their egg custard tarts; however, there's a good selection of traditional breads and desserts, ranging from donuts to foccacia and other carb-laden goodies in between. I stocked up this trip and drove home with a couple (yes, a couple) of coolers filled with frozen and refrigerated items, in addition to a variety of spices and other foods, including hatch chili popcorn, octopus, za'atar spice, Moroccan tea, two packs of six each of the egg custard tarts, tomini cheese, truffle butter, and two different kinds of tortellini: shrimp & burrata and smoked salmon. Fingers crossed Lidl considers expanding further south sooner rather than later. read more

Yep, as soon as the hype dies down just a little bit, this will probably be my go-to store. I've been here twice now, once just to check it out and grab a few unique things and again with a shopping list. It looks like you could save quite a bit of money shopping here without compromising on quality. My first visit was a bit crowded. I don't think there was anything LIDL could have done to remedy the colossal turnout on their second day open. It was getting to the point where the fire marshall would probably have something to say about the amount of people in that place. That being said, there were a few hiccups. Plenty of associates sampling private label brand products, but unfortunately not very knowledgeable on what the product was. Both times I've visited they were sampling cheeses. The first time the employee couldn't tell me what kind of cheese it was as she was just covering for someone else for a moment. The second time, they had this delightful fig and olive cracker with a zesty brie, and the associate had to ask two people where the crackers were in the store. Other than that, the only other issue I saw was one man attempting to operate a powered pallet jack on the floor while customers were packed around him shoulder to shoulder. Didn't seem safe at all and most grocery stores have a policy that no power jacks are allowed on the floor while the store is open to customers. Probably a bit of an oversight. All the criticism aside, I was still pretty impressed with the value and quality of their fresh selections. Their Bakery items are super cheap and delicious. Produce looks top notch and the biggest difference from your typical store is that it's still in its packaging from their supplier instead of laid out in bins. I honestly believe it's a better practice because it's easier for the store to rotate product and keep it as fresh as possible. If you do a lot of cooking at home, this store could become your favorite place to shop. Everything I've bought from their perishable departments so far has been indistinguishable from any other store. Their dairy goods are top notch and I couldn't believe the variety particularly in the cheese section. I've already made a couple of home dishes with fresh products solely from LIDL and plan to do more, very impressed. Some last minute side notes: Bags are free right now for grand opening, but they regularly retail for 10 cents per paper bag. You don't have to bring a quarter for shopping carts like you do at ALDI. Expect this place to be super slammed with people for the next 4-6 weeks, just bring your patience! Fresh/Perishable departments have a wide variety, dry-goods and non-perishable have a more limited variety. 90% of products sold here are LIDL private label brand. Overall this looks Ike a great addition to Concord. Bring your reusable bags and rethink your grocery shopping! read more

I swear this place just fell from the sky and landed in Concord. Where have I been?? This place is awesome and the discount prices is an added bonus. If you love fresh baked breads then this place is definitely for you. Here are a few pointers for shopping here: a) Bring your own shopping bags....they do have some for purchase but why not just bring your own. b) Bags vary in prices but the brown paper bag is $.07. c) Expect to be blown away by the selection of products. d) Yes, they have name brand as well as off brand items here for a great low price. As soon as you walk in there is fresh produce and the bakery. The croissant rolls are flaky and buttery and I love them. I have to stop myself from buying them everytime I come in. Their prices are super cheap compared to the majority of the grocery stores in the area. The folks both on the floor and running the front are quite friendly hand knowledgeable about what they carry. This place has great promise but a few snags at the moment. Some people working here will tell you that at 4am they get a truck of new inventory. This has proven false a few times. Other employees explain that as a new store they don't manage their own inventory until they have more data about what people in the area buy. Regardless of the story, if a thing is too good to be true it is. Lidl offers no rainchecks so when they stock out of a sale item, good luck getting it. I come back at store open, item is still gone. I don't know when they restock and they can't tell you with any certainty. Call the store over and over. That being said some of the sale items are wonderful, with great prices. You can beat Aldi on some of these sales. Problems persist with shopping carts strewn about the parking lot. People are the worst. Other problems include the self checkout, it can struggle with coupons. I think once things get rolling it will pickup. I hope the sales keep up with this intensity. read more

The produce selection was larger and the meat selection. Their deals of the week are great and affordable. I even like their bad designs. Lidl is a great spot to get your groceries. There is a plethora of food stores around but I still find myself over at Lidl. They have incredible prices and it's a very efficient business. They keep their prices low by keeping their inventory low and stock up multiple times during the week. They keep fresh fruit and vegetables in and they have a great bakery section. They run various specials and deals and have a nice app support to encourage coupon and other uses. They have a solid section for organics too. They carry extra household items and beer and wine too. They do not use plastic bags so bring your own or buy the paper ones at checkout. read more

I don't think it is possible for me to go into Lidl and not find a deal on something. On my first visit, the result was the dried seaweed I was looking for, in tasteful varieties. On my second visit, there was none to be found but I found many other items including a couple of​ red wines and some beer​ (Hard Apple Cider and Not Your Father's Root Beer). I am not much of a beer drinker so these fit me very well. I found a number of household items as well including a new desk lamp. We weren't in the store for​ 30 minutes (it was closing time) and spent over $100. On the way out, I spotted the lilies​ for about $20. They were so beautiful; I had to have one. I will definitely visit Lidl every time I am the area of Concord Mills if for no other reason than to look around. read more

Really impressed with Lidl. Like most have said it's similar to Aldi in that it's a lot of store brand versions of name brand products with some "real" brands mixed in. The variety is pretty nice though. They may not have everything a Harris Teeter or Whole Foods would, but you don't always need that. They have the basics and they're fairly well priced. One other thing to note is the huge selection of baked goods right by the entrance. Are they the best pastries I've ever had? Overcrowded, long waiting lines at register, limited selection (f.e. they carry only pre-cooked rice), coupons that I received in app to use did not work, manager's solution was to return whole purchase and re-ring everything again to try using coupons while 5-6 quite nervous people were waiting behind me. I decided to screw the coupons and just leave. Not great. One thing they have good is fresh bread, no better bread around, for all other items I will go to Aldi or Food Lion, at least there is no hassle with "coupons" and almost no lines. read more

I had never been to a Lidl before this experience. It was sort of a hodgepodge of a little bit of everything. Never, have I ever, been in a store that sells escargot, diapers, saws (think lumberjack) and neck pillows... in the same place. It was kind of bizarre yet intriguing. Very Aldi-ish... which is funny because the names are very similar. One theme I noticed was the deals that they advertised were VERY good. So if you are purchasing those specific items, you probably won't find a place that can beat the cost. Secondly, the customer service was really good. The checkout staff was simply put: effortlessly charming. Lastly, the store does not provide bags. So while this 'out of stater', that didn't pack my reusable bags, was a tad inconvenienced, the overall message was so awesome. I wish more stores would move in the same eco-friendly direction. read more

I love lidl, but the only problem I have is the self check out. Worst self check experience of all time. There is no one to help most of the time, and the cashier behind a register has to help. It's where I pretty much get all my deals on any day. The bakery is a family favourite. It's nice to know that we can time when the fresh batch of butter croissants will be out and ready. We were there early evening Monday 9/23. We go weekly bc the produce and dairy prices alone make it worth the trip. I usually like to combine trips with Harris Teeter it BJs to get certain things I can't get at Lidl. I had all but one of the ingredients for a recipe my husband was sooooo hoping I'd make, if we found the one magic ingredient. It was just powdered ranch dressing mix. So we looked everywhere we thought it could be. We were in a time crunch so no other stores, so my poor sad husband was feeling so sad knowing his favorite chicken dish wasn't going to happen. There were tears, he raised his flag in defeat, he asked for a moment of silence. Then all of a sudden as we were approaching checkout appears a very nice employee on the floor, Sydney. She asked if there was anything she could help us find. So I told her we looked all over, she could see the raw pain in my husbands eyes and feel his crushed spirit as I told her of the one missing ingredient. She looked all over and found it mixed in with another type of dressing mix. Th stars aligned, the animals danced, the birds sang. My husband was restored back to his happy place. Not all heroes wear Capes Sydney!!! Thank you, bc of you my husband had his much awaited meal All kidding aside, seriously Sydney was awesome and Lidl is lucky to have an employee that goes above and beyond for a customer to find a needle in the hay stack. read more

This is the worst store I have ever been too . If I could rate it zero stars I would . So my experience happened 07/15/2020 at 3:25pm . So as my sister and I walked in the store we were being watched , idk why . But anyway make a long story short as I came to self check out and rung up my items i didn't know I was on a registered that didn't take any type of cards . My sister pointed that out to me . So I was told to go to a registered so the cashier could check me out herself . Cool no problem . As I proceed to go to a register the line was so long they only had one register open . I told myself I refuse to stand in line so I went to literally put all the items back instead of leaving it somewhere for a cashier to put up . Which I should of just left the groceries right there and go on about my business but I was nice enough to put everything back in it's place . So as I proceed to walk to the front of the store after putting everything back one cashier stopped me and asked, "did I put everything back?" and I said "yes" so as I'm walking trying to head on out the store the security guard stopped me and asked can he check my purse . " I told him I'm Offended you think I would steal some discounted food . He proceeds to say " well I'm just saying" but you didn't check anyone else purse that zoomed on by you . The thing is I had a small purse. But that's not the point I'm a 32 year old African American woman for him to even have the audacity to ask can he check my purse because you assume that I stole because I was nice enough to put y'all funky a** food back where it belonged which I should of left all of it right there you assume I stole . The crazy thing about it he was the same color as I am trying to take his 12 dollar an hour job serious when he needs to be coach on how to do his job properly . So after I was falsely accused I called Corporate even tho I feel like They're no going to do anything about it but I just wanted to take action anyway for it to be on record . I would never , my family would never shop at this store ever again . This experience was very embarrassing , I was angry , I was mad because this was the first time I experience something like this being falsely accuse of stealing "groceries at that . Wow . The family and I went to the grand opening of this store. We are no strangers of this awesome supermarket. However must all good things come to an end? The reason for the low rating is because my wife made a small purchase and somehow was over charged fifty bucks per our banking statement. We tried to resolve the issue with management and they passed the buck to our banking institution. Now the bank is giving us the run around with no resolution and no one has time to thrown away hard earned coin. read more

I like Aldi, and heard that Lidl was similar. Unfortunately, the best parts of Aldi are missing. The produce was priced like HT, the cashiers were slow like Walmart, and the store brands were inferior to Aldi (as a specific example, all of the store brand cereals were at least 200 calories per serving, which is much more than the 100-150 I usually shoot for). The wine selection was mostly no-name, but the one I recognized (Apothic Red) was higher priced than Publix, Not to mention BJs and Wines and More. In short, it is not the bargain that Aldi is, does not have the friendliness of Publix, and doesn't have the ambience of either HT or Food Lion. I got a free bag on opening day, but don't think I'll be using it at Lidl in the future. read more

We had to check out Lidl this weekend, just like all the rest of Concord. :) It was busy, but not nearly as packed as opening weekend. Lidl is a destination store to me, kind of like Total Wine, Earth Fare or Trader Joe's. It's a cool place to browse, find some unique items and get a good deal here and there, but it's definitely not a replacement for an actual grocery store. Their produce is cheap, but their same prices are the same as Food Lion honestly. Their spices and condiments are also cheap, but the selection and product sizes are somewhat smaller than what you would get at a regular grocery store. For example, Pringles were cheaper, but the were in a short, fat can rather than the tall, skinny one. It's kind of like shopping at Dollar General... It's brand you know, but in smaller sizes which costs you more money in the end. I was disappointed with the election of white wines as I was hoping to snag some cheap wine deals. There was only one national brand, Kendall Jackson. Everything else was their own private label which I'm sure is a fine product, it's just hard to compare prices when you're comparing apples to oranges. I promise you that I'm not that much of a penny pincher y'all. My Dad is in national food sales so this stuff is engraved in my brain. We did pick up some Hefeweisen and Pilsner that was imported from Germany to try. They were 6 pack pints which was nice. The Hefeweisen was actually quite good. I may or may not have shed a tear or two into it while watching that debacle of a football game between Penn State and Ohio State. read more

Not a place to shop if you're disabled! Stopped into Lidl to look it over and they have no electric scooters so the disabled can shop independently. When I asked about it, I was told laughingly that there was a wheelchair. There indeed was ONE wheelchair with a tiny lap basket. How is someone supposed to grocery shop in THAT? Particularly for me as I just had surgery on my hand and have a palm full of stitches. The employee asked laughed. I was embarrassed and mortified! Normally I would have my personal scooter in my van but my husband needed all the room to haul some items from Lowe's and took it out. But then again, I have never used it to grocery shop because it's not equipped with a large basket. I called Customer Service and was told they would pass my comments along. Hhmm. read more
